Havertz was well shut down by Aston Villa yesterday, he only had one chance and the defender had it covered. The advantage of Havertz tho is although in the final third he was poor on the ball he was able to help link up with the wingers effectively. It's about making sure we have elite scorers across the front line, so when one has an off day, the rest perform. It makes you unpredictable. Havertz is a 20 goal a season striker, Saka's a 20 goal a season winger, Martinelli has potential to be a 20 goal a season winger. Personally if Martinelli fails this season we sell him and get Nico Williams, I think once Merino and Calafiori comes in he will be back to his best, I think you could see at times yesterday he was struggling without an overlap. As an Aston Villa fan frankly it is nice to see how hyped the Arsenal team was to win against us and to hear things like a statement win, it shows just how far my club has come.

@carter3369 Havertz will get 20 goals in the PL and 12 assists this season. The way we play means a striker is pointless- you need a forward who can cover centre and right, drop into midfield to help out and drag a CB with them, have great passing vision and link play, and a great 1st touch. There just isn't that on the market this year. We used to buy because we needed, rather than wait for the right player- and that led to mediocrity. No more panic buys, just adapt a style that suits what you have.
I'll be completely honest. I never once felt threatened during that game. Villa DID have two clear cut chances, but they spontaneously created by our own incompetence. Other than those two chances we controlled the game very well and you barely had a look in. I knew we would step it up a gear towards the end of the game and we did. You couldn't handle the intricate passing and overloads in the box. Well deserved statement victory
