This is such a legendary set. I like what all these cats are doing on their own now, but there was something about that Black Focus era when this trio played together that was straight up magic.

Every time i come back to look at the Yussef Kamaal Trio, the same thing I realize..the bassist is incredible. His melodic touch in between, in front of and behind the notes and beat is perfect.

@@mmontanezz98 Alfa Mist, Yussef Dayes are very similar and kinda run in the same circles I think. more poppy but related, Tom Misch & Jordan Rakei. Less related but I also like it: GoGo Penguin, badbadnotgood, mammal hands.
