Hey man, thank you so much this was the perfect tutorial, i have been so infatuated with the song and always thought i didn’t have the skill to, but it was simpler than i thought, so thank you!
Damn. I’m on day two of playing this, and am exercising all new muscles. I’ve been playing guitar (poorly) for about 10 years, and a few of these shapes are brand new to me. My left wrist/ elbow are aching like crazy, but it’s getting easier and easier. Just gotta keep doing it until it feels natural. Thank you for this tutorial man, this is a really important song to me, and this is the first time I haven’t felt overwhelmed approaching it. All new respect for the way Stephen would dance around and play this. Big love.
Não é tão difícil bro, eu que sou intermediário na guitarra consegui tocar de boa, só doeu um pouco os dedos no começo por conta dos acordes diferentes mas acostumou rapidinho e agora não dói mai
Man you have no idea for how long I´ve been waiting for a tutorial like yours... Stephen and Audun are smiling now. I´ll learn all the songs I love from them thanks to you! Cheers from Brazil!
you should check out brazil by declan mckenna, he has same taste to hers ! his album "what do you think about the car" is heavily influenced by the FIFA gang in brazil and share awareness to it
man it took me about a month to really get it down but i'm finally at the point where i can play along with the song. thank you so much for this tutorial and all your others, it means so much to me to be able to play these songs.
90% the songs I play are heavy. So this is something different and new since it is my first finger-picking song. Good song, but most importantly, a brilliant lesson 😌. Subscribed.🤘
this is so good thank you. beautiful song, beautiful guys. very interesting finger picking pattern and chord shapes. took awhile to get it, which makes it all the sweeter to be able to play along with the song. so much respect
Thank you so much!! It took me 2 weeks to learn this song all the way through. Im still a little choppy in the chorus but I never had much finger picking experience until i learned this song.
I just started to learn how to play a electric guitar this is the song I truly want to learn how to play, the sound is just so beautiful. Also, can you guys provided any tips or just anything I should know or try doing pls?
Matthew Garcia lmao I know bro just a suggestion for future ref if you did say fret relative to capo but rlly up to you and your teaching style either way works I feel like just easier when countin from capo I’m just being lazy lol
Hey, I’d say just repetition. The more you play it, the more your pinky will get use to the pain. If you never really used your pinky in this way before, then ya, I’d say expect some pain. But once you do it over and over again, you’ll be able to play it with ease.
That instrumental bridge song towards the ladder half of the song (the part at 9:00), in the song it sounds like he's doing some sort of picking instead of strumming. Do you know how to do that part? It sounds like a similar chord shape to the one at 5:53 where your index is on the 3rd string/3rd fret, middle on 4th string/4th fret and pinky on 6th fret/5th string. I just don't know for sure and don't know his picking pattern either for that part.
Hey! Great video! How did you practice the claw on the 11th fret at the beginning? It hurts my wrist since all of my fingers have to be so close together.
Thank you! Well if you’re not used to doing this it may hurt a bit. I played a lot of songs that had this cord in it so that’s how I got used to it overtime. If it helps any you can bar it with your pointer finger! That may help
Lil late, but it all depends on your confort and skill level. Gonna dive into this myself and the hardest part I can see is the polyrythm and odd fingerings. Definitely not a beginner song.
Well ste definitely used some crazy chords and they’re not necessarily easy. So just continue to practice so your hands can get used to it! Take a break once in a while and stretch your hands. You’ll get it 👍🏼
on the strummed instrumental chord section, what chord is being finger picked in the background? There's one repeating one in the background and I just can't figure out what it is ://
