In this video I teach my friend how to drive stick in a 1971 Toyota Celica! The car has an 18rgu dual overhead cam engine with a 5spd transmission. This is her first time driving a classic car and her first time shifting through the gears. We laughed through the mistakes and had a good time! Hope you enjoy🙏

You’re such a good sport through the whole thing, the best way to learn manual is to practice on someone else’s vehicle. I learned on a friend’s 1974 Chevy van 30 with a 350 and a three speed on the column and I never looked back since, looking forward to this journey.

I usually teach people way I learned was only use the clutch let the engine idle on flat ground. Once you mastered that can get the car moving forward at idle speed everything else is easy. I took my driver's test in a 1983 Datson 280ZX manual passed perfect score was 1985 I turned 16.

Man you're a good teacher. My brother taught me a little bit but I had to re teach myself years later when I bought a manual car since I never used the knowledge for years. Great video. Miss the Celica videos but I know it can be tricky to keep them fresh.

Years a go I tried to teach my sister to drive my sister to drive my Celica. It didn't work I din't think she can drive a stick all these years later. Good video looking forward to more.

Dude, I think your friend is crushing on you! VERY cool video. I had a 1974 Celica, and I taught scores of girls at my high school how to drive manual. Even got more than a few dates out of the deal. Just cool to teach someone how to drive stick - it's the best!
