I still can’t believe Em himself made The Way I am, renegade, Till I collapse, sing for the moment beats...really underrated producer, he learns from the best
@Matthew Lawrence He's produced tons of tracks for others, this was a great read thanks for sharing. I know he's done beats for Royce as well, and recently even did a beat for Shoe Gang (Crooked I's family, they recently did a whole EP over Em beats paying homage if I remember right).
The oo and ayr sounds coming almost back to back the whole verse is a ridiculous rhyme scheme. That from the first time he does it to the end, he does it almost every line is a mastery of craft.
Both of their verses are cynical yet masterful, long overdue criticisms about their own image that are almost impossible to refute. But they sound so different because they each put their greatest signatures around how they crank the words out. Really cool.
Fun trivia: This was a Royce song. Em did the beat and his verse. Royce had his verse done. Jay asked for a collab with Em and Em got Royce’s permission to give it to Jay
@@TaySteph This is a super cool fact, because not only could you argue Em took the track, his lyrics were written and laid long before Jay ever got the song. No slight to Jay, I don't think there are many rappers that could really do more than he did on the track. Em just showed up big on this track, the subject was meant for him.
And em had the same verse here when Royce was on it and just took Royce of it and let jay lay his verse and still got washed by em , still don't know any rapper that's washed Eminem yet but Wayne was level with em on their song
First time watching your video and I just love how hyped you would get when Eminems verse would come up lol both amazing icons but man em killed his verses still obsessed with this song and album til this day 💙
@@TaySteph oh my god hahaha, that’s content right there. Can’t wait til we get a new album, so many reviews I wanna watch! Love the reaction and breakdown of the bars! That’s why we here!
Love this record..it's a classic. Really a classic among real rap fans, by real rap I mean before the "split". It's weird to me that today there's almost 2 different generes in one. Rap rap, then you got the melodic auto tuned stuff. Rap used to be just rap lol..ANYWAY rhyme patterns on this track are nuts. One thing Em always did well was syllable rhyming. Rappers will make every other word rhyme, usually they'll atleast rhyme the last word per bar. Em breaks that down into syllable rhyming. Takes a lot of work and time to write like that.
People don't have any idea how hard it is to chew another emcee AFTER he has heard your verse to a song... Em bodied Royce AND Jigga with the same two rhymes. That in itself is incredible.
*Jay* is one of your Fav? Have you heard any *Linkin Park & Jay-Z* from *Collision Course (99 problems/One Step Closer) (Jigga What/Faint) (Numb/Encore)* Live at the *Roxy* they were put together by *MTV Smash Up*
and Eminem's verses were recorded months earlier, this was originally going to be a song with Royce, but they didn't like how it turned out and Eminem asked Royce if he could send it to Jay instead.
Eminem killed Jay-Z on this track but Jay said some real shit.... But Eminem killed this shit and that beat is so smooth and 🔥🔥🔥... That last Eminem verse was hard
@@chriswildhaber35 o he's better than Jay-Z to me as well I don't like Jay-Z music in its totality. You right your opinion Kool... But I was just voicing mine Tupac will forever be the greatest and the face of hip-hop... Tupac is everything hiphop stood for and his music is better than all of them and he was a young man died at 25 that's crazy....
@@tcook2236 love PAC, but em #1 pac#2 biggie#3 kendrick#4 and lil weezy#5 that's my top 5 and of of course I'm old school so rakim Kool g rap andree3000 there all in my top 10.
Bro... Broo... Jay Z is on of the GOATs and still Got destroyed by this alien called EM!!!! That fckn rediculous. It hurts for me to say, but u can not denied EMs pen... He is a fckn wordsmith!!!!
They let beats ride in the golden age so people could free style to the beat at the end of the song. People couldn’t just go online and play the beat back then.
No offense to JayZ,but damn, there's a reason why NAS said Em killed you on your own song.... Of course JayZ got even when Em killed NAS on the EPMD2 ......😁😁😁
