I know how she felt when they were just sitting there ignoring her when she was at the window, I've been through that. When so called friends would get together but single me out, or leave my outside by myself and looking stupid. Her face at that scene is exactly how I felt.
It’s horrible when u get treated like that, BUT it’s because they are jealous of u, AND not one of the ones who treated u like that deserve ur friendship at all, they don’t even deserve ur time, because ur time is too precious to waste on people who don’t have a soul!! U r a good person and the hardships we face in life only makes us stronger and shows us humility and compassion for others, because we know how horrible it is to be treated that way by others, we wouldn’t inflict such pain or suffering upon others in our lives, it makes us a better human being, so don’t let anyone like that see the hurt they’ve caused u, because they ain’t worth shit 💩 😊 ❤😊❤😊
You got it all mixed up. Minnie (help) first gave her (red head) the choco shit pie after she fired Minnie for using their restroom to pee. That's why her face was disgusted when she saw Celia Foote (blonde) bring a Chocolate pie made by Minnie. All the trauma came back
Celia was such a lovely person, but Hilly had a personal grudge against her because Celia got married to Hilly's ex-partner, and she believed they got with each other when he was still with Hilly. I think that also made it worse.
I could be wrong but I feel like they put the scenes in reverse order intentionally. After seeing the first scene people may question why Hilly would be so disgusted after seeing the pie and why Minnie told Celia that she shouldn’t take them any pies. Then the next scene shows why all of that happened. It makes more sense to put them in the same order as the film but I get what they were trying to achieve.
@williepearl278 Minny told Skeeter and Aibileen later on in the film, and then we see what she'd done afterwards. It'd make sense why she told Celia to stop bringing pies to Hilly that were made by Minny because the last time she made Hilly a pie, she put her own waste into it.
@@LightsaberGoBrrrrrr Had a male customer came into the store where I work. Brought a drink & a candy bar to the register and asked for cigarettes. We were out of the ones he wanted. SO HE. GOT. MAD. AND HAD A LITTLE BABY TANTRUM. AND SAID THEN HE DIDN'T WANT ANYTHING. AND STOMPED HIS LITTLE FEET OUT THE DOOR. WAH!!! But that's men for ya.
Just a few more seconds and we would have seen Hilly's mom's reaction to the realization! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That was the highlight of that scene and why Octavia won the Oscar.
the full context is the mean lady Hilly is racist and fired her mother's maid Minny for using her bathroom ( she just flushed the toilet) then she gave her the pie. after that minny was hired by the nice lady Celia who didn't know about the pie incident and brought the pie to this event in hopes that Hilly will accept her. Elizabeth does everything hilly says so that's why she didn't let Celia in even though it's Elizabeth's house.
If they won't acknowledge your presence than don't acknowledge theirs, something I had to learn. Having no friends is better than having fake ones, so happy Celia and Minnie found each other .
Hilly was such a devil and I think a bit of a floozy too. She was a married woman but was mad at Celia because she was married to her ex-boyfriend….from high school. It’s like she wanted both men to herself, smh.
It still makes me so mad at Hilly and all her sheep that follow her for the way that they did Celia. My family was never like that, and my great-grandmother's maid would be so scared to eat at the table with her and my great-grandfather and their children. He'd go out to the back porch and tell her that she was a human being, not a dog, and she could eat at the table with them, and she'd tell him that his family was good people and she didn't want anything happening to them if anyone saw and he'd cuss people who said anything. I got my mouth popped when I was 6 or 7 because I said the N word, and my Momma told me to never say that awful word again and I started crying because I didn't know what it meant and she told me, and apologized for smacking me. Celia is just so sweet, and I know that if she was a real person, I'd be extremely protective of her and Minnie, too, even though I knew that Minnie could handle her own. If I was at that stuck-up twat party, I would've answered the door, and invited Celia in, and dared anyone one of those heifers to be rude. I actually might have told her that I was on my way out, so why don't we meet at the diner for lunch or my house and enjoy Minnie's pie? I know that I would've done that because I have done it before more than once. At that formal event, I would ask Celia and her husband to sit with me and my husband. I also know Celia because I was Celia, I just didn't have a Minnie, but I learned not to waste my time on people who didn't value me and to only be around people who genuinely wanted me around. I had gotten with an older man, and he thought that my antics were cute, and he'd talk about me. When the ladies where we lived would try to talk to him and make a move on him, he'd tell them about me, and when they saw me, the rumors started that I was a gold digger and anything else that could be said and I had invited these people over to get to know one another. I was crying and told my boyfriend that I wanted to go back home. That I was never treated that way back home. He got on the phone and called one of the ladies in the poker group and told her was going on, and she told him that I was a very sweet young lady and she'd put a stop to it. Next time, I went to poker with him. I was treated nicely, or I was just ignored, but I appreciate what that lady did. They also didn't like it that at a party there was dancing and I used to be a dance. My boyfriend noticed that I stiff and asked what was wrong, and I told him that I didn't want to embarrass him, and he told me to dance how I was used to doing and men started taking pictures and my boyfriend video me and smiling and yelling " That's my woman!" When the same women started up again, he shut them down. Celia was just having to deal with jealous, petty women, and she was so kind-hearted that she didn't see it. Celia was the type of woman who built other women up. She never tore them down, so these heifers' actions were kinda new to her. Celia had a backbone, and you saw it when she saw that Minnie's boyfriend had beaten her, and I'm surprised that Celia didn't hunt him down and hit him over the head with a cast iron skillet, but she thought around these heifers she was supposed to become friends with and they weren't good enough for her. They weren't worth her spit.
That Hollywood movie was filmed in Greenwood Mississippi, still one of the most racist (backwards) segregated small rural towns in America. I know this as 100% pure fact, because I grew up there as kid back in the 1970 - 1990s and moved away far from there as soon I joined the US military back in my twenties and haven't been back to that hole in the wall dump, except for a few recent funerals of very close family members and childhood friends who passed on. I don't know how accurate any information about this movie is exactly, because I never heard of any black people doing something so crazy like placing feces, urine, or even spit in food that might have been prepared and cooked for the other people (whites) especially if they diligently worked for them for many long years.
I haven't seen the movie in a while, but if I remember correctly, she wasn't the maid to the red head but the blonde one. So maybe that could be reason why she did it, as to not only get revenge for herself but the person who take care of her. Yet again, it's also movie, so sometimes they over do it for the drama😁
@moviebuff9278 she was her maid first. She accused her of something and made sure nobody else would hire her. So she went with the only person that she doesn't talk to, the blonde one
The best scene in the entire movie from one of the best movies ever made. I grew up around people like this. I’ve put girl’s names I grew up with on every one of Miss Hilly’s friends…there’s Peaches, Dixie Ann, Chandler, Bobbie and Mary Margaret. Yes…I know them well enough to spot their personalities in this movie. Gee…wish I could have made a special pie for Mary Margaret! One day…..😂😂😂😂
That's not the order of how that happened... Hilly had already eaten the pie before Celia brought it to the party that's why hilly made that face when she said her maid minny made it But minny did come clean and told Celia what she did 😅😅
I have experienced this same situation and I made the best decision ever, cutting ties with those two women who were not good people . Only two pieces of sh*t !!! 😊
No no no noooo. Minnie giving Hilly that pie that had shit on it happened first, that was because the woman accused her of theft and fired her. The first scene where Miss Celia brought the pie happened in a later part of the movie.
Yes. In the film, the red headed bed head is implied to be the most beautiful woman in the town. Her beauty and wealth explains how and why she acts so terrible.
She didn't get revenge for her, Minny (the maid with the green hat) was getting revenge on the girl with the red hair (hilly) because she fired her for using hillys bathroom. The woman with the blonde hair (Cecilia) then hired Minny as her maid. Cecilia was having trouble making friends with the other more classy women in her neighborhood because she got with Hilly's ex boyfriend after they broke up, so she brought a pie to try and be friendly and they just ignored her. Minny did comfort her, but the gross pie she baked wasn't revenge for Hilly ignoring Cecilia
I just wish Skeeter and Celia would have became friends in this movie. The only 2 women who weren't racists. It would have been nice for both of them to see that not everyone is ljke the other rich white women are and they don't fit in with them because they are better
