I went from a very expensive house to a smaller house to a converted sprinter and I can honestly say I’m happier in the van. Mainly because I spend more time in beautiful locations like the beach etc…
@@veraroyen4986 I think about that often. In Southern California it’s not terribly extreme so I’m not the best to answer though it does get hot a spray bottle with water and a fan can ease my discomfort
I like her honesty when she said she did not know in the beginning about how to run her tiny home. So many people with these type homes are not this humble to say "I have no idea what I'm doing"...being humble is a good mindset because you learn quickly & adopt much quicker to this life style and most importantly enjoy this life style. Happy Trails to her. LOVE her tiny home so cosy & the colors she chose for her interior design are great. The more pillows the cozier the camper/tiny homes look. 💙🚙 (this camper is one of my favorite layouts and interior design. Doesnt look like a camper looks like a home. well done!)
'' jan smith''. What about you? I mean it is so easy for you to point out all the faults and flaws of other people. '' Many of the faults we notice in others are our own nature reflected in them''. In the first place, you should correct yourself before expecting this or that from others. You're not better than your so-called ''no-humble'' persons. Have a great day.
You are so right, it is YOUR home! BTW, I also love lots of pillows. No one can fault you for doing what makes you happy. I wish I had learned that as young as you are. This old lady is proud of you!
Just think of all this well spoken young woman has accomplished in the world of personal goals. Sounds like she took the time to think about & assess what really mattered to her and just went forward. It’s also pretty great that she bumbled her way through the things she didn’t know how to do, sought help, read up …and, then realized she could learn it and do it and then sit back & feel empowered about those triumphs! Wishes for a safe and great journey to her 💞
This is a good fit for her height. I love the comfortable style of the furnishings. I think she's got a wonderful setup and lifestyle. Her dog is adorable, too.
Love your cozy place and I love the way it reflects your personality. You seem like a gem of a person. Also how naturally you spoke of the ups and downs and accept it with the flow✋💕
You have an awesome home and I agree with ‘’you do you”…glamp all you want! Brave and savvy! Way to go! For your winter clothes…you might consider stuffing your decorative pillows with the off season clothes. I’ve seen that done by other clever nomads! All the best to you! ❤
Hi! I have a similar camper in Europe and experienced like you how empowering it was to learn how to operate this camper as a solo woman. Driving, hitching it to the car..it was nerve racking, but then so doable and very freeing! I am much older then you and only wish I did this sooner! I can't to wait to see your tube channel! good luck! Live Free!
I really enjoyed this video tour. I have much respect for the fact that you were honest about your complete experience. Even the mistakes. Good luck in your new journey.
So inspiring! Her candor and vulnerability is just lovely to see. Not everyone can be like that with strangers, let alone strangers with camera. I need this freedom! 🌞
Hi Jessie, what you have accomplished is Amazing! Enjoyed the tour of your rig, appreciate your humble confessions of the initial glitches. Hope you & Ashley continue to flourish in your adventures.
We had a 2009 T@DA that we camped in for 7 or 8 years. Love seeing you living in yours. Ours was silver with yellow trim and it was the other floor plan. We did live in a 25 motorhome with 2 dogs for a year. Happy living!!!
I am so happy that I ran into this video! I'm moving into my 2003 Honda Odyssey with my cat Lily. My expenses will be cut so that I will be able to save some money. I lived in a camper van before so, I learned a lot. Wish I had never sold Tank! Traveling is not my thing anymore, I'm 68 years old and a female. I pretty much stay still. I want to save for a very small trailer 14 to 16 ft maybe. I have no idea how long it will take me. I do have a bad back, however, I will figure out this hitching and unhitching. I won't be driving very much and I definitely will not put myself in a situation where I have to back in 🤣🤣 You do learn a lot about yourself when you are living in such a small space. For me , Less is better because clutter, clutters my mind! The biggest thing that I would like to have, would be a little shower! You are cool! 💕
Incredible Tiny Homes in TN has a 8x 16 certified THOW for $15-30k depending what you want in it and off grid options. I ordered 2 hope to move in June. Look up INCRED-I-BOX and ADD-A-BOX. Need a lil camper like this to visit f&f with my pets now. I think I can move the 16' home it only weighs only 2500 lbs so a reg car can pull it. High quality and they have several communities only $200 mo rent. Very honest good company. I hope all your dreams come true and you enjoy your new life.
Oh, I love your home, your adventure! Would like to do that, but so many obligations at 71,- babysitting the grand and their pets, taking grandkid to work, but I am finding a little time for me with my E Scooter! Hoping to get a 3 wheel adult E trike too, ..But 'Your' adventure is absolutely The Best! Safe travels and ENJOY! ♥️🙏
Good for you!! 👏👏!! I too have a fairly small camper and am solo female. I live in a small sticks & bricks home. I tow, set up and tear down my camper too! Im so proud of you for doing that yourself 👍. Thats such a cute rig! Mine is a 14' viking Ultralight . Good luck! Enjoy your journey 😁
We own one of these, exact layout. We lived in it for 5 months as a family of five while we transitioned to a new state. We had 2 toddlers on the large bed, I slept on the left, where the table converts to a bed, we had a bassinet on the right counter, and I found a MASSAGE table that was narrow enough to fit in the walk way, which my husband slept on. We would take the massage table out every morning and put it outside as a bench for seating. We had so many people asking how we fit ourselves in it 😂. I wouldn’t recommend putting a whole family in it, long term, but it’s fine for a solo traveler or a couple! She has hers set up super cute!
I appreciate how honest you are about the journey of learning this has required. It helps me picture doing this kind of life, too. Well done ☺! Including the humility journey - love it! ♥ God bless!
Jessi...you're an inspiration to living your best life and following your passions!! Beautiful little trailer and you're a beautiful soul. God Bless and much success in your business and adventures!
Really like your home continue enjoying life and exploring, being adventurous. Growing in knowledge of living tiny. Smile always laugh 😂 often. Stay safe enjoy love your story and your dog. Thank you for sharing your home and growth. Peace of mind good far.😊
You are the cutest thing and I have enjoyed your video so much you just popped up and I thought OK I’ll see what she’s doing and you are liberating and also a very hard worker. I am 76 years old and I envy your lifestyle. Good for you good job girl so proud of you.
I would say your gorgeous dog and being able to ask if you'd done the hitching right makes you very cool, I have been around a long, long time and that bit of humility goes a long way in my book. I hope you and Nash (I had a Dane called Coney), have a long, safe and happy road in front of you. Also, admitting it on film and saying that you didn't know a lot is really cool too! Beautiful trailer, it looks really spacious so you definitely got that right!
we were with friends when we were looking for our trailer. We found one close to this...first thing out of their mouths "do not have the stove that close to the door" . Apparently while pot was on the stove someone came in and didn't notice the handle was turned outwards. yep, you guessed it. we thought it over ...yah, we didn't need that head ache.
Jessie thanks for this link. This is my future at 70. I would want to this as a permanent installation in Mexico. Not sure if I’m quite ready to pull the trigger just yet. Good luck in PR. GREAT VIDEO
look up BLM land = this is free government land that many of these campers park on. there are rules for these types of campgrounds. a limit on how long you can stay at one BLM camp ground (which has no bathrooms etc) boondocking camping (look up this term). there are many vids on where to camp, BLM land, boondocking.
I understand what you're saying about learning & doing these things yourself. It gives you a sense of accomplishment & gratification knowing you're becoming more self sufficient & self reliant. I think that's something we all should seek to obtain. However, many ppl don't bcuz of fear, being afraid of failure. If there's one thing I have been learning myself, is its better to try & fail than it is to never try at all bcuz who knows what skills & lessons we would learn from our mistakes? To me it seems that it encourages me to try again & learn from my errors bcuz the knowledge I'm gaining will not only benefit me later on in life but I may possibly be in the position one day to help empower somebody else. Anyhoo, congrats on stepping out into a new life & becoming a business owner as well. Good luck w/all your travels & business endeavors.
Think how far you have come, even if there is still more light down the road... Google and RU-vid have all the answers if you have the time to find them. We keep solid items for the two of us, and all else is disposable which takes up far less space. On the rare occasions when we have visitors, we usually stay outside and use paper and plastic plates, bowls, and utensils. No one has ever seemed surprised by it. Hope I run across your coming RU-vid channel. They can be renamed and modified if you are not happy with your first attempt. Mine is just starting even though I have had it for 10 years.
Enjoyed the video of your adorable tiny home on wheels. And I love Great Danes!!. Your home is so cute. I heard u say a couple of things that I hope I can maybe help u with, as I so remember when we first started and how much we had to learn. Sometimes realizing we didnt really understand correctly how something worked until after we had been RVing for a good year or more and then suddenly we would see something on youtube that made us go... "Wow we didnt realize that"....... So in relation to your having a heat pump & a furnace....the part about u not being able to heat your camper below 40 degrees.... I just wanted to make sure you understood that is true, but strictly related to just the heat pump only. Heat pumps are part of the AC system and honestly they are kind of a luxury that many RVs do not have. They help to keep u warm using electric, when its not bitter cold. But I just wanted to make sure that you understand that your actual "furnace", which works off of propane, like most RVs have....it should work in any temperature to keep u toasty, no matter how cold it gets. So when I heard u say that u couldnt take your camper in real cold weather.....I wanted to make sure you understood that you absolutely can, by using your propane furnace. Of course, campers in general, can be difficult to manage for multiple reasons in extreme temps. Therefore, Im not neccesarily encouraging u to take it in extremely cold weather..lol. But I just wanted to make sure you know that if u have propane, then your furnace will (should) work to provide you heat, no matter how cold it gets. Also, if this helps.....just because I know it can be so confusing...... But many things will work in your rig that many people, who are newer to RVing, think they need electric for. But in reality they just need for their RV batteries to be charged. And its pretty easy to keep batteries charged by having just a small generator and running it as needed, in order to juice up the batteries. (Like maybe a few hours a day). If your batteries are charged, then u should be able to use things like most of your lights, your max air fan, your furnace, refrigerator, water heater, etc. The batteries will work everything in the camper that requires 12 volts only, including allowing the things that require propane to be able to ignite. But I guess because electric helps to charge the batteries, people often think that they must have actual electric for many things that they really dont IF they just find a way to keep their batteries charged. And having a generator will allow you to juice up your RV batteries as needed, plus it will allow u to utilize most all of your electric outlets in your camper as well. I said a "small" generator would work just to keep your batteries charged, as well as allowing you the power you need for many items that u might want to plug in..... But I should say if you want to actually use your AC when off grid, a generator will also run the AC..... BUT it might require a more powerful generator. (Because the AC seems to require the most power of just about anything in a RV). Anyway, I hope u dont mind my sharing these things, but I just like to help and its so confusing for most everyone when they first start RVing for sure. And I just didnt want u thinking that you couldnt use things in your rig that maybe you actually can. But the key to RVing is having & keeping your batteries charged ....The batteries are probably the biggest part of the RV. And of course, I should add that your vehicle will also charge your batteries...(and solar as well). But a portable generator is fairly simple to use and a real game changer to helping keep the batteries charged when you are off grid. Plus it will allow u to have electric for most other things you might want to use when needed. So Im not sure if u have a generator or not, but if not, I think it would help u so much and they are just really good to have. The Honda generators seem to get the best reviews, but they are also very pricey. So just a fyi..... We found the ""WEN" brand generator to be the most affordable, quieter then many and to work very well, when we decide to boondock or dry camp off grid. You are doing a great job and I so admire your strength, courage and independence to jump in there and follow your dreams :) May you continue to enjoy the journey. Best wishes for continued success and safe travels.
I like your setup, your trailer and your Toyota. I hope it is a 4x4. Perfect for boon docking and living cheap also exploring where you can video tape places of interest like historical ghost towns etc and build your channel. My setup is a 37 ft 5th wheel but not the best for what you are doing.
*Newly Updated Safety Suggestions: for RV lifers, Campers, Hikers, Explorers, Nomadic Life, and Travelers* I just happened to see your channel, and others similar channels recently, and I think that you, and others sharing their actual reality, and some have expressed some of the up, and down sides to van, RV, or vehicle living. Although, I just noticed your RU-vid channel, and other similar channels, displaying van living. I just wanted to remind everyone to Aware Be of your surroundings and Alert, I just posted this anyway to help anyone who may benefit from these suggestions I believe that it is very helpful, and beneficial to others who may be thinking about this type of living without actually thinking through, about the some of the realistic problems that could occur with vehicle or van living etc... People need to know what the up sides there are, as well as some of the down sides of vehicle living. I believe this channel, and other channels have been informative to others, including myself. Although, I am NOT living in a vehicle or anything like this. I feel that you , and others RU-vidrs sharing this with your viewers will be very helpful. I wish you ALL the Best with your traveling endeavors. I shared this with several other travelers, as I watched their RU-vid channel for the first time, as yours, and I shared with them this information that may be helpful to you as well to others. Therefore, I would also like to suggest a few Safety tips, and items that may help you, or others in your viewing audience. Although, you may have knowledge of this already, I am not sure, so I hope this will be helpful to you, others or someone. *Keep a Extra working cellphone with you or in your vehicle. You can purchase inexpensive phone with a very low monthly price between 25, 35, 45, dollars a month with unlimited data and text, and some have Nationwide coverage Do your research for the best fit for you Consider Carrying Several Extra portable cellphone phone chargers, and cables. Consider theses items: *Mini portable power charging station. I have also seen outdoor portable solar powered power stations, that can be recharged from sunlight this may be very useful to have, to power your devices. *Invest in a Cellular signal booster for outdoor use, and camping situations to boost or amplify your cell signal and reception. Consider also the purchase of a WiFi signal booster to also boost your WiFi signal. Research to see what you prefer. *Very Inportant: Invest in a SOS distress electronic signal device, this a kind of device can send out a distress signal with your exact location. There are various types of these devices, and including devices that can be used when boating, or camping situations. *Some have emergency Strobe lights SOS signaling with location alerts, and location updates that can be sent to your family, and emergency first responders. Some can be synchronized with your smart watch or phone. There are some satellite SOS texting messaging, locator devices that will send messages with your phone even if there isn’t any cellular signal, or WiFi. With this device your can still text, and communicate with others in a emergency satellite transmission. Check online, for various emergency SOS products, some are small to fit in the palm of your hand. You can check online, and on Amazon, research what SOS devices will be a good fit for you. *Mini portable vehicle battery jumper charger *vehicle battery jumper cables *Vehicle Jumper cables *PLEASE BE AWARE* that in the *WINTER* *vehicle *Batteries fail* many times in very cold weather conditions. Vehicle batteries drain more often in the winter months. Please Keep a vehicle battery portable jumper pack, this is a device that can jumper or boost your vehicles battery yourself without another vehicle. If you have a older battery in your vehicle, Please have it tested or replace it, and consider the purchase a new vehicle battery with higher Cold Cranking Amps rating. Be Aware that Sometimes even a battery that is a few years old can fail in the Winter months, and extremely cold temperatures. Some alternatives to Winter Camping, Travelers, Explorers, etc, if you can find a Warmer Climate Location to stay during Extreme Winter months, or stay with family for a few weeks. Another alternative is renting somewhere although this can probably get expensive. What ever you decide Be Careful, Alert, Aware, Safe, and Informed... *Keep a Fire extinguisher handy *Smoke detectors, and Carbon monoxide detectors can be helpful Keep a First Aid kit with Bandages, antiseptic, and other first aid necessities etc. and good vitamin supplementation, and fluids that promote hydration. Consider installing; *Mounted Dashboard camera front and rear possibly. *Exterior vehicle mounted camera for the front, rear, and both sides of your vehicle. Some can be activated by motion, Including spotlights. *Interior vehicle cameras *Flashlights or pluggin spotlights *Portable spotlights, and lanterns Keep a few whistles around with you, and in your vehicle possibly in your vehicle’s center console *Keep a Sound horn, for hiking this can service, as a deterrent, and a emergency signal alert for others. *A set of long range 2 way radios, walkie talkies, to communicate with others during trips, some have 100 mile radius keep for emergencies, you can keep with you when hiking. Use your own discretion regarding the use carrying of any weapons. Don’t forget to bring Bear Spray Pepper spray Where is allowed Purchase a couple canisters just in case and keep it with you If you own a drone you can use it to survey your area for animals etc. However, Please Be Safe and Beware of your Surroundings. Stay Alert, and Be Safe even when stopping at Rest stops, Truck Stops, and conducting your various tasks. Keep in often contact with your family, friends etc. Keep up with the latest Weather Updates, beware and prepare for unexpected Weather events and conditions. *VERY IMPORTANT* *WINTER AWARENESS* I would suggest *NOT* to travel to locations without internet, or cellular service in the Winter, the reason is that weather conditions can change very quickly, and you absolutely DO NOT want have a vehicle break down, or malfunction, or emergency, and not have the availability to communicate, and contact your family, and or, emergency road assistance, or emergency services. Please Keep in mind that even in area where there is cellular service and internet, in the Winter sometimes there are ice storms that may occur and this can cause Power or Electrical failures, until utilities crews repair lines. *Your Safety is Important* *PLEASE BE AWARE* that in some extreme cold temperatures that vehicle fuel lines could Freeze and causing a vehicle to not start. Just in case Keep your gas tank filled, which helps prevent vehicle fuel lines from freezing. Keep gas or fuel line additive, or gas line antifreeze, that is rated to use okay for your vehicle. Check with your a certified mechanic and your vehicle owners manual, and or dealer repair facility to inquire what is best to prevent freezing gas tank and lines in extreme cold. In the Winter even your bottled Water can freeze so Be Careful and Plan ahead. *Safety is Paramount* *Your Life is Important* *You want to Live to Travel another Day* *So Be Safe* *Stay Alert* *Keep your vehicle gas filled* Don’t ride on fumes, or on Empty. Don’t chance your Safety by running your vehicle fuel or gas too close to Empty. Fill it up anyway, it will save you alot of time, and headache later on. Remember to keep up on routine maintenance, check your tires for wear, keep up with your fluids for your vehicle, like oil levels, antifreeze coolant, Please carry extra (oil)(washer fluid), (brake fluid), (antifreeze). You will need extra Winshield Washer fluid because of the ever changing Weather conditions, dustly roads, especially in slushy wet roads. *WINTER AWARENESS* In the winter consider purchasing and deicing Windshield Washer Fluid, for the much colder weather conditions. Furthermore, you will need extra Windshield Washer Fluid, Because you will Be driving more often in dusty, dirty, windy, and varying weather conditions. Your windshield will gather dust and debris from long term driving. Also, Remember Because you are on the road riding for sometimes very long distances, and long periods of time, I would suggest investing in 2 sets of tires, and a spare, the extra set at a home base, friends or family’s house to rotate later on, also make sure that you have a spare tire in your vehicle. Check the mileage ratings on your tires they all very. Conduct visual inspections of your tires often, check for damage, wearing, air pressure, etc Keep a pressure gauge to check your tires pressure and a tire pump. Electric, Portable tire pump. Keep towing insurance to Be Safe if you ever need it. It Doesn’t cost much try to get National coverage if available, or where you will be traveling. Keep Extra financing, and savings for any unexpected issues, vehicle repairs, and overnight stays, in a emergency or if you need to rest indoors. Keep Enjoying Yourself, Keep Enjoying the outdoors, and Nature Just..Please continue to Be Positive, Safe, and Alert.. Wishing Success, Well-being and Happiness You All. All these Camper/Van lifers will still be alive after the rest of us are dead in the apocalypse! Just a thought! Kidding of course. You are not uncool. There are thousands who are so into that life they have nothing but praises for all van lifers - just look at the comments in all the van life video's. Van life seems like a happy pill! Of course the western scenery is so awesome. I really miss the travels I had through Nevada, Utah and Arizona when I was traveling from Sacramento CA to Bloomington IN for college, and 6 weeks of geology field camp in Wyoming and Montana were amazing. I get it! Unfortunately I'm unable to do that these days. Enjoy it.
This beautiful, I really like this tiny home, and omgoodness the beautiful Dane- asorus 🤣🤣🤣🤣. The sad thing is it's gonna get extremely crowded on the road, people aren't able to afford housing anymore with landlords doubling rentals and house prices going through the roof. Trying to stealth is going to be next to impossible.
This is my dream in the future. I too would like to work remotely. I've been working full time in an office for so many years. If you think about it, a person spends so many hours and years working in an office. Nice camper! I like her honesty. she is learning as she goes which happens to a person who is living tiny in a camper or tiny home for the first time. Cute dog ❤️
