@@nekorynnThe lyrics are about a woman falling in love at the Copacabana, getting harassed by a guy, her boyfriend stepping in and getting killed by a gunshot, and her returning to grieve as an depressed alcoholic 30 years later
Lyrics: Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there She would merengue and do the cha-cha And while she tried to be a star Tony always tended bar Across the crowded floor, they worked from eight til four They were young and they had each other Who could ask for more? At the copa (co) Copacabana (Copacabana) The hottest spot north of Havana (here) At the copa (co) Copacabana Music and passion were always the fashion At the copa they fell in love Copa, Copacabana His name was Rico He wore a diamond He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancing there And when she finished, he called her over But Rico went a bit to far Tony sailed across the bar And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two There was blood and a single gun shot But just who shot who? At the copa (co) Copacabana (Copacabana) The hottest spot north of Havana (here) At the copa (co) Copacabana Music and passion were always the fashion At the copa, she lost her love (Copa, Copacabana) (Copa, Copacabana) (Copacabana) like in Havana (Copa, banana) Music and passion were always in fashion Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl But that was thirty years ago, when they used to have a show Now it's a disco, but not for Lola Still in dress she used to wear Faded feathers in her hair She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind She lost her youth and she lost her Tony Now she's lost her mind At the copa (co) Copacabana (Copacabana) The hottest spot north of Havana (here) At the copa (co) Copacabana Music and passion were always in fashion At the copa don't fall in love don't fall in love (Copacabana) (Copacabana)
little story ^^ Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl. At the copagabana, music and passion were always the fashion, so was Lola. As she danced the night and her youth away, eyes couldnt help but follow her movements, though her own gaze could only rest on Tony. Her steps ended up matching tony as soon, both their hearts and bodies danced together. Each eye contact, music note, noise of a step on the floor resonating were synchronised, even their heartbeats. Lola thought it was obvious how well their souls and moves completed each other, yet Rico never truly saw it. And the day he went too far, tony couldn't take it, and neither could he take the bullet from Rico's gun which was hidden safely in his backpocket a few moments before. Lola could only remember the noise of the bullet firing, Tony bleeding out on the floor as she watched in shock, before she sank next to him, trying to undo the damage. The blood was on her hands, not on Rico's, at least from her point of view. And each time she danced, she'd hear his voice, she'd remember his warm body emptying of blood, she'd feel his absence as her heartbeats and dancemoves were no longer matched. And soon, Lola no longer danced, instead crying away her nights, and moving on with her life. Multiple years later, Lola was back, in that same dress, yet neither Tony nor a part of her soul could ever comeback.
STORY: Lola did her shows in Copacabana, 1948. Fell in love with Tony, but Rico killed Tony. Mourning the loss of her partner, she coped by drinking. Even after decades passed.
That was perhaps the best dance version of the Barry Manilow classic I've heard in a long time. If the last line was modified it would go something like this... okay, breathe, here we go: Her name was Lola, she was a Showgirl, it was 45 years ago since the Copa had its Glow, now it's a Theater, showing movies ( Swift!!!! ), those times have since faded away but the memories remain. It's not a Discotheque, it's the 21st Century what the Heck, long live the Copa and Lola, with all Damn Due Respect.... I can see it now! Anyway, nice to see...and hear this 45 year old Manilow classic some brand new fedoras....and some serious BPMs!
a story i made up myself There was a girl called Lola with a wonderful outfit, she would put a show for other people to see, Lola met someone called Tony and fell in love with him and Tony came everyday to Lola’s show. Everyday was a good day for Lola and Tony and they Loved each-other and started dating, they were really in-love and Tony was thinking of proposing to Lola because she was beautiful and kind to him, Tony thought everything was going great because it was, It was Lola’s best time of her life, Tony took her to places like bars, restaurants, parks and beaches, until one day. The day Tony was going to propose to her, came, Tony was going to propose to Lola after her show but there was a person called Rico, he was mysterious and looked like a gangster, he wore a diamond and Lola finished her show, Rico called her over and Lola came but that was a very big mistake.. Lola comes to Rico and Rico says “Do you want to hookup with me” Lola said “no” “You have to” Said Rico “I have a boyfriend” Lola says “Do you want him dead or not? Now become my girlfriend before things get messy” Rico says, “What are you going to do?” Tony arrives to them “Whats going on here?” Tony says “So you’re her boyfriend?” says rico “Yea, whats the problem?” Rico punches him and slaps him and they get into a fight and Tony throws a chair at Rico thinking Rico would stop but then Rico took a gun out and pointed it at Tony “STOP RIGHT NOW!” Lola says crying, Rico fires the gun and Tony dies, Lola started crying a lot and said “you monster i hate you.” Rico says “i told you.” rico walks away like its nothing and Tony with his last words, “i was going to propose to you” and takes his ring out, that made Lola cry even more. 30 years later Lola is staying in the same outfit even if it doesnt fit, she has faded feathers in her hair, that showplace is a disco and Lola is still crying from the incident. Thats the end 😭😭

Idk why but I made a story for this song lol- There was a famous actor named Lola. She was mostly known for her show, Copacabana, she loved a man called Tony but he sadly passed away. After that the production couldn’t move on the show because of the death. Lola was shortly fired for this. They sold the studio 30 years later. It was now a disco. Named after the show. Lola returns to the disco in the dress she wore on the show. She would dance hoping the studio would reunite and continue the show. She remembers Tony being the best at bar. More at 4 likes. Also not trying to be a brag but. TY FOR 183 LIKES!!! IVE NEVER GOTTEN THIS MUCH LIKES!
Ok- ok- A man called Rico invited her to sit with him, they chatted for a few. Lola gets a flashback where Tony was talk to her and the 2 laughing. She then lost her mind and ran out of the disco laughing and crying. She ripped out her feathers from her hat. Rico calls her name but nothing then he saw her crying. She calmed down. He decided to give her his diamond necklace. More at 5 likes
OH MEH LORD- ALR- She remembered a memory in the studio. A man was talking to Lola. Tony came and got really mad. In a second chairs flew in the air. She heard punching while seeing the 2 fighting. Suddenly she heard a gun shot. She then saw Tony on the floor. Then she saw Rico next to her realizing that Rico shot Tony. She spoke: Y-you shot TONY! She kicked him hard as she could. She yelled and kicked him more. More at 6 likes.
Im pretty the story for this song is: Tony & Lola worked in Havana @ Copacabana, and they fell ik love at work. There was this like guy Rico who was right (maybe mob boss) and he got touchy with Lola and Tony started a fight. Rico had a gun and while Lola tried to save Tony from Rico's gun she accidentally pulled the trigger and shot Tony herself. So now she goes back there and goes insane bcoz she 'she lost her youth and she lost her Tony' and blames herself for his death.
Story! There was a young and beautiful lady named Lola. She would dance in front of a stage and dance. But across from all the dancing and pleasing, she met a handsome young fello named Tony. They would work together from the early morning to 4 AM. They would send each other loving signals. But a few years after their engagement, a rich man named Rico would enter into the disco and sit on his VIP chair. He saw the loveliness of Lola, how her hips swayed and how her arms and legs moved through the rhythm. When she finished she was told to meet with Rico by her boss. She went to where he was seated, and chatted with him. But suddenly Rico tried to assault Lola, which ended in Tony getting out of the bar and fighting for his fiance, throwing chairs and punching him. But suddenly Rico pulled out a glock 23, and shot Tony to death. Lola sobbed as she saw her soon to be husband die in front of her. The man was arrested, but later payed his own bail and left prison. Lola was so upset, she planned to go back and enjoy the last few minutes of the 'disco' before she would burn the place down, with Rico inside. She got a martini and sipped as she watched the place burn down. She was truely insane. Rico wouldnt have made it out alive. Lola sat away from the disco and watched as the place went to ashes. People were running and she started laughing as she saw Rico scream and beg to pour water on him. She watched him burn to death. That is the story i made up!!
ight...time to cook Lola had worked as a performer at Copacabana. It was like the music simply flowed through her, had captured anyone who dared watched. Now, being one of the most watched dancers within the bar, many assumed that she had the talent to preform all over the country, a big shot with guy (and ladies alike). One thing would stop the finely dressed mistress from ever getting that big, would be her bodyguard (and boyfriend.) Tony. Though, she didn't mind never getting to be that big of a star, for she had valued her remaining relationship with her lover. He was never much of a dancer, he'd sometimes express tiredly, only in private to dance along with his darling, Lola. Their bodies danced in sync, lost within the music of their hearts, had been perfectly content. Of course, happiness such as that would never last so long. Lola would soon catch the eye of Rico, albeit accidentally, it would be her worst mistake. The male would make several advances, which would spark a deep fire within Tony, who noticed. The bodyguard had practically flown across the bar, the will of wanting to keep his honor (and Lola's) would overtake any other thought. This would lead to his downfall, because he was swiftly shot, and killed. Lola could only watch in horror, the memory of her darling bleeding out, like a rose being painted red, would forever imprint within the young gal. In the Copacabana, *one * heart beats instead of *two*, as this took place about 30 years ago when she used to have a show. The place was now a disco, and she had sat within the disco, wearing the outfit she had long ago, the feathers within her hair now pale, like the ever darkening look in her eyes. Drinking away her remaining life. Oh, how she just wished to have her faithful lover with her, and a piece of her soul back. But, her story had always remained, as music and passion were always in fashion, warned to never fall in love.
This song resides deep within, and it really reminds me of my mother, when i was growing up, i hated barry manilo somehow, and so my mom would play it to wake me up, but this song in specific i think i liked it, now i LOVE this song ❤
I am currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear. And especially at 2:34 that part was just so truly heart touching words can not describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax it had insanely excellent detail. Oh and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply. this is an absolute masterpiece , I was brought to tears listening to this and seeing the chip go whirly swirly in a circle countless times. it absolutely moved my soul , and I don't think I can ever be the same. this bacon has changed my entire mental state , I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. i have forgiven all my enemies and now I am a man of a pacifist life. I will move on , gotta move on , as the song says. the chip is so inspirational , it shares it vast wisdom with all of us , and we are all so lucky that it would bestow it's great words with us. we are all children on chip . hail chip. hail chip . The spinning chip, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a bacon do such a thing? I'm struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the chip spins, showing its lightly salt covered yellow skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the chip scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. The flavor, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen and felt from a screen. You can really hear the breaths between the music artist, empathizing her love for this rotating chip. Truly what I call modern art. This was the most legendary performance by any piece of chip I have ever watched. The acting was top tier and very life changing.
