@@EmulatorGamer64Ytyeah because the comment is overrated. like I get the “PUHHH” is “iconic ✨” or “slay 💅 ✨” or whatever but literally hundreds of comments say the same thing every video-
I had braces for 2 years.. I wore the retainer for like 2-3 months.. it hurt a lot so I stopped wearing them it's been more than 2 years.. will my teeth shift back😢😢😢
I was one of the people who was counting down the seconds to getting my braces off, and just imagine this extremely tiny nerdy kid with braces on and a messed up smile who gets bullied. That was me for the longest time. Now picture someone who’s still fairly nerdy (bc that’s me) no braces and a really nice smile, who’s also not 4’8” anymore, that’s current me. I felt like I hit such a Glow-up when my braces came off because I’m also no longer dealing with really bad Acne, so I just felt really pretty for the first time in a long while.
@@Arii898 OK I need you guys to help me. I have crooked teeth, but everyone tells me that I look good in them and they tell me if I get braces my smile would be ruined. I’m already really insecure, but I’m really scared that. I may be more insecure when i take my braces off. I really want to get them but I’m really scared that I will not like them. Please help me or just give me an advice because I cannot get it out of my mind. I’ve been insecure of my crooked teeth for my whole life. And I do not want to be more insecure.
@@moa-um4qyMaybe you could try no prep veneers if possible, then you could try having a different smile without changing your real teeth. Im not a professional or anything though so always ask your dentist or medical professional for options.
I miss my braces. Imma be honest it was easier for me to take care of braces than my retainers and my "permanent" retainers. Biggest issue I have now is that flossing is nearly impossible. 😢
Get a water pic! Trust me ! You'll love it! It's expensive, but it's worth never having to floss again. It's so much faster and easier! I used to get horrible plaque on my bottom brace, but not anymore!
@@anneshirley9560 i have a water pick and I used it all through my braces experience but using it with my permanent retainers doesn't get it all out like my when I had my braces
Same! I just got my braces off a few days ago and my teeth felt huge! I’m still getting used to it a bit but definitely much better than when I first got them off lol
I had the the biggest identity crisis after getting my braces removed because I couldn’t recognise my smile, it was me but at the same time not me iykwim and I found it so hard to smile especially with my teeth showing because I hated my smile and how it changed. But to anyone struggling the way I struggled (because if I did then I,m pretty sure a lot of people have or are struggling with this too)then let me tell you that it definitely gets better, it will take time to get used to it and discover your smile all over again but it GETS better and confidence boost that you get is surreal. Ngl I still struggle sometimes because I haven’t come to fully accept it but it’s definitely better than before and it just keeps getting better. I now realise how important someone’s smile is to them. And I love how everyone’s story is so different and diverse with braces, I love reading and hearing them.
I didn’t got attached to my braces 🗿, I just hated them in every aspect, I thought they ruined my face , smile and were so uncomfortable , especially eating . I also cried when I got them removed tho ... but because of happiness 😋.
I felt the same way… the day I got my braces off I did a happy dance i was ecstatic I could not get those horrid things off soon enough… three and a half years too many… my orthodontist every week when I went to her to see if I could get my braces off would say “mmm maybe next week” for like a whole month and a half and each week I became more and more irritated to the point where it was apparent I was pissed and I almost refused to open my mouth unless she took them off… at the point of her telling me this each week my retainer had been ready for a whole two months… when I first got my braces put on I was so insecure and for the three and a half years of having them I wouldn’t smile with my teeth and I hated them so much constant canker sores and using a lot of wax and the wires poking me and constant pain so much Orajel not to mention cut up lips and the elastics which I’m still finding everywhere in my room (I’m and adult now) all yellow discolored and cracked from being so old
I didn’t know so many people were attached to them. I hated them the entire 3 years I had them. They broke 5 times during those years though luckily they fixed them no question
Funny enough, I never had that big a problem with acne until I got braces. it's like your body just decides "oh, you got braces? that means you're a nerd. time to finish the look"
When i was a teen,i had braces too. Wore them for year and a half. After braces had been removed. I felt so happy, was walking home smiling all the way like a fool and my teeth looked so beautiful. I finally felt like my life is back.
i can't believe people are thinking that smiles like that aren't pretty. i can't even physically smile (i can but it's tiny no matter how hard i try and isn't proportional to my face etc.) and i absolutely love other peoples' smiles even when they don't love their own. i've probably misinterpreted this but imo it's really sad that people don't realise how beautiful/handsome/cute their smiles are, because to me i don't see the difference.
i used to hate my smile and i do have braces now but when getting them, i realised i _wanted_ to keep my small mouth, i was afraid of it changing too much lol. so, i've definitely grown to love my small smile! i used to worry it looked fake but it isn't fake and my false smile looks different.
I have the same problem if you could call it that and when I got braces it actually helped me smile bigger when I got my braces off, it get harder to smile again
My sister ABSOLUTELY LOVED, when she got her braces off lol, she definitely looked slightly different haha, but it did take her a few days to a week to get used to them not being there! Shes very responsible & wears her retainer when needed and her smile is amazing! I get mine off soon (maybe not cause I’m not allowed to wear the bands) but I know I’m just gonna love my smile 😅✨
I experienced something similar right before (even considered canceling the procedure😅) and for a while after I removed a mole that has been a major insecurity of mine for my whole life. For about a week I was ambivalent about it even tho I expected to be euphoric. It felt incredibly weird to have something that has contributed so much to my lack of self-esteem just dissappear. If I would've removed it sooner, would my self-esteem and life overall been better? It has impacted so much of my personality and the way I interact with people. And now it's just gone, and yet all the damage is still present. It was weird
I had a mole on my index finger and when i turned 6 i got it removed so i rmr crying to my mum about it for a week that i miss my mole blah blah. I think you just feel attached to it
Every single person I’ve seen who had braces had better smile after and seemed happy with how they look. I hope I’m the same way when my braces are off. *Praying*
bro, just tell me you’re lying. I really wanna get brace the better movie scared that I will be insecure after that I’m already insecure and can’t laugh or smile without covering my mouth just don’t tell me I have to go through that after I take my braces off because I don’t have them but I really want to please don’t scare me please😭
I hated my smile after I got my braces off. I missed my gap tooth. So... I did a bad and didn't wear my retainer. My teeth kept pretty straight and the gap reopened. My parents were pissed that they spent so much money to close the gap just to have me not wear my retainer, but you know. No one asked me if I wanted the gap closed. Y'all. I did express how I felt to my parents. I was told to shut up and deal with it. What else was I supposed to do? Throw a tantrum at the ortho so I could get my ass beat when I got home? I did not have a choice in the matter.
@@hampus3699 …I go to the barber all the time wanting my hair to be the same length, just even and pretty. And your wrong, you literally commented on someone wanting to keep the gap lmao
My braces have been off for a yr now. I have gotten used to how I look with out them. Wore them for 3 yrs and 4 days. It may be odd, but my retainers give me a comfort.. bc they are on my teeth.
I can't imagine missing them, just a few more weeks! But Bentist, are the results stable if I wear my retainer? I had mine in combo with SARPE and just SO scared about relapse.
1. idk if you got them off yet but you might, it’s really hard to get used to but when you give it a few days you’ll warm up fast. 2. wear your retainer at least 50% accurate to the schedule given and you’ll be fine
My smile has never been the same after braces. Yes, my teeth were straight but it changed the shape of my face and smile and now I hate smiling with teeth.
so glad I absolutely refused to get braces as a kid. I've never heard anyone who had a 100% positive experience with them and my older sibling ended up looking virtually the same after all the pain and restriction and hard work. 21 now and I
Braces dont make teeth perfect, theyre mostly there to make your bute more comfortable. If your bite is comfortable and you dont mind crooked teeth, no one is going to suggest you get braces. I needed braces desperately as a kid, and am 100% pleased with the outcome. They saved me from so much pain and infection that I dealt with before I got them.
Babe, braces aren’t there to make you hot or some shit. They’re there to fix your jaw. As someone who can’t afford braces my jaw fucking hurts & it wasn’t worth the hell of not getting them early on.
My parents spent my college fund on bracers I didn’t even need because the dentist mentioned that I might benefit from closing the slightly noticeable gap in my teeth💀 for the love of god, please consider your child’s education above any unnecessary cosmetic changes…losing that money on something so stupid that I didn’t even need made life a lot more difficult than it had to be, luckily I made it work, I took alternative paths and still achieved most of the goals I had, it just took a couple of extra years and a lot of otherwise avoidable debt
I actually love the way I looked with braces. I always liked the colours and everything. My teeth were straight. Now they've started moving again for god knows what reason. Oh well. The pain was not worth the looks
I had braces from the ages of 10 - 13, and I had people asking me years later what had happened to them. They really did become a part of me, and I still think they're pretty neat. I like seeing adults with braces now, it reminds me of those times.
Yeah my friend had that. She wore hers for 7 or 9 years (she always forgot the appointments) and once she finally got them off she started crying and missing them since they were colorful and she got so used to them. But i was happy that she finally got the off and told her she would get used to her new look. ❤
Honestly braces made my depression even worse and taking care of them and visiting the orthodontist was just terrible for me and my mental health, taking them off felt like freedom
I can't relate. I had braces in high school for 3 years and was so excited immediately when I got them removed; it just feels great to have natural teeth without a bunch of metal on them. Now, I'm in my 20s and had to get braces a year ago so that I could have jaw surgery. I can't wait to get them off again once I fully recover from the surgery (which corrected a severe malocclusion).
i was always neutral about having braces and never cared for having a "pretty smile" but after being forced to get them and have them for 4 years it feels like it was all for nothing 😭
personally i hated my braces every second i had them lol...i did break off 2-3 brackets but thankfully it only took about a year and a half to straighten my teeth. but i understand that ppl who have them on for longer become more attached + facial changes can take longer to cope with!
i absolutely hated my teeth after braces (still do) but that’s only because i have to constantly wear a flip retainer w fake teeth on it bc im missing my laterals. no they didn’t fall out, i simply just wasn’t born with them. so the teeth are fake. and if my actual teeth get yellow or just aren’t pearly white, the fake teeth stay fake pearly white. therefore two teeth in my mouth are white and the rest are just not as white. implants are so much money too. i absolutely hate my teeth😭
The day I got my braces off I did a happy dance i was ecstatic I could not get those horrid things off soon enough… three and a half years too many… my orthodontist every week when I went to her to see if I could get my braces off would say “mmm maybe next week” for like a whole month and a half and each week I became more and more irritated to the point where it was apparent I was pissed and I almost refused to open my mouth unless she took them off… at the point of her telling me this each week my retainer had been ready for a whole two months… when I first got my braces put on I was so insecure and for the three and a half years of having them I wouldn’t smile with my teeth and I hated them so much constant canker sores and using a lot of wax and the wires poking me and constant pain so much Orajel not to mention cut up lips and the elastics which I’m still finding everywhere in my room (I’m and adult now) all yellow discolored and cracked from being so old
Went through braces and 4 years of wearing a clear retainer and some of my teeth were still crooked. But on the bright side the 2 most crooked teeth were forced out because of the damage my braces did to my teeth by being too tight and bonus that they were front teeth! 👍😃👍
my friend got her braces off a few weeks ago and when i tell she was over the moon with joy it was so happy to see her she even brought gum to eat in the car home from her orthodontist i was so happy for her
when i got my braces off i also hated how my teeth looked. but i did the clasic- fake it till you make it, and gained confidance in my smile and now i love it :)
I started the process of braces when I was in 2nd grade so like 2016 and I got them in in 2nd grade too then got them off in 4th grade before Covid I still had many many of my baby teeth and I screwed myself by not pulling them leading to me having to go though the whole process all over again in 7th grade! And I’m supposed to get them off beginning of my freshman year or if I wear my bands correctly I’ll get them off quicker!
I was so happy and relieved when I got my braces off. I can understand looking at yourself and being weirded out by the difference, but braces are so painful and uncomfortable, it’s always a relief to not have them anymore.
Its been 4 years and i still liked the way i looked with braces more than without ... i just learned to accept it eventually even though i rlly still dont like how it looks
I remember getting mine off and hating it cuz my teeth were to small to line up my bite correctly, I had to get some bonding done to add on to my teeth and make them larger, after that it was great
I'm one of the ones that cried after getting my braces off.... I looked so badass as a metal mouth and loved wearing halloween colours all year :P They really spoke to my inner spooky kid
When I got my braces off I was so relieved and couldn't stop moving my tongue over my teeth because they were all so polished! Also, semi-related, WEAR YOUR RETAINER! I'm getting Invisalign in a couple weeks cause I didn't and my teeth got jacked up again.
Had braces. Ruined my life. They've caused so much lasting trouble and my teeth are falling out. 0/10 getting braces was one of the worst decision I've ever made
Ikr fr, when I had my braces on I liked how my closed mouth smile looked. Then when I got them off I was like what the crap I hate this *mini existential crisis*
The only thing I liked about having braces was getting to pick the colors of my bands every time I had them tightened. I think I probably ended up having them all by the time I got my braces off. I remember having black and orange put on for Halloween and red and green for Christmas. I even had clear ones a couple of times.
I'm telling u, i cried that day when I got my braces off, i told my ortho that they looked good and all but in reality i found myself looking horrible and i couldnt recognize myself, especially that my lips looked thinner, when i was with my braces my lips looked plumpy and gorgeous... It's my 3rd day and I'm trying to like them more
I don't get loving having metal in your mouth that cuts up your cheeks every chance it gets. Literally hated every moment I had my braces and even took them off early once my teeth were straight enough cos I just hated it that much
I had braces from 2018 to 2021. I hated my smile for most of my life and never smiled in pictures. The 3 agonizing years were worth it though. I love to smile in my pictures now. My teeth are perfectly straight and it’s one of the few parts of me I find beautiful.
Had mine for 9 years into adulthood, and I’m glad they’re gone, but it was definitely a transition. Also, don’t have braces for 9 years. I had several surgeries and it was a whole process, but looking good now :)
For someone like me who had a gap and the front two teeth on my upper jaw were hecka crooked. I mean like upside down v crooked. I feel so much better actually having straight Teeth. I appreciate my orthodontist for doing this for me and making me feel so much Better when I smile. I kid you not, when I was in the fourth grade I would only smile with my lips. No teeth at all! I am half way down my braces journey and can’t wait to see my smile with them off. 😊
Also sometimes people get braces and don’t take care of their teeth and then the get white spot cavities all around their teeth leaving a rectangular shaped stain on their teeth that look terrible.
When I first got mine off my teeth looked so big I thought I looked like a whole horse, but like a week later I got used to it and now I think I looked awful with braces lol
I have had braces 2x because I was unsatisfied the first time. My orthodontist didn’t fix my overbite the 1st time. I currently have braces, and had teeth pulled due to crowding. This time I’m paying for it and getting my money’s worth.
I was actually insecure about my teeth for a little while after getting my braces off. They were so straight, they looked like dentures. They have since shifted to be not as impossibly straight, so I feel better about them now.
When i had my braces on i was so scared about taking them off becauae i thought i looked better with them on, but now, seeing my old pictures, i dont understand how i ever thought it looked ok.
I had braces for 1 1/2 years and it fixed my gap in my two front and pushed a tooth that was a little bit further back and it fixed my overbite but I see all these braces adds and their teeth line up, not gaps at all when you smile and it looks like it DEFINITELY made my smile worse.
I was one of those people. I cried and thought it looked terrible and that I had huge teeth. I actually have normal sized teeth and a very beautiful teeth. The initial shock can be hard to get over tho
I couldn't wait to get mine off.. and then they put them on a second time because they didn't take my wisdom teeth into consideration. I hated smiling so much when I had them that I feel like I forgot HOW to smile.
