"Is This Love" by Alison Moyet and also agree with the "Love Resurrection" comments love that instrumental reminds me of something youd hear in an 80s movie so nostalgic
Alison Moyet and another of your favourites, Lisa Stansfield, are two of our best English singers. Another shout for these two by Alison: All Cried Out and Love Resurrection.
This is my jam and I couldn't click fast enough when I saw the thumbnail. Honey For The Bees, For You Only, Love Resurrection and All Cried Out are bangers!!! I'm amazed she and Yaz/Yazoo weren't bigger.
Thank you for that Amber and Jay, Alison Moyet, along with Annie Lennox, had the most powerful, strongest voices of the 80's. 👍🏻♥️🙏 God Bless You Both and your families
Loved me some Alison Moyet!! An incredible voice who never got the recognition she deserved. Love you Alison ❤!!! And I was a Metal Head when I listened to you! 🤘😝🤟👊🏼
She is my all-time favorite singer! I even named my bard in Everquest after her. I would love to know what you guys think of Love Resurrection. ❤️ thanks Amber for introducing people to Allison!
ALL CRIED OUT ....and LOVE RESURRECTION great tunes back in the day and played them to death, and still sounds amazing today, such a Voice , these 2 songs need a listen for sure
Thanks for reacting to this! I heartily recommend checking out her entire debut solo album “Alf” if only for your own listening enjoyment - every song (including this one) is gold!
Thank God you finally found Alison Moyet 😉! Absolutely one of the best voices to come out of the 80s. Try a few more from her Alf album (which Invisible is also from). You'll probably get lots of recommendations for Love Resurrection and All Cried Out which are excellent but one of my other absolute favourites from the album is 'Steal Me Blind.' There isn't really a bad track on Alf.
Love this song! Great memories.I remember in high school when this song was out! My ex-girlfriend could sing like Alison Moyet and would sing this. She loved the song, and not because I treated her like she's invisible lol
I remember this as one of her biggest hit here in the US. It’s amazing how she’s practically a national treasure in the UK but only made a couple splashes here. I remember Adele being compared to her, with many thinking “Chasing Pavement” would just be a one hit wonder. Adele did managed keep going, but I’m glad that at least England recognized Alison’s talent.
Fun factoid about "Invisible": It was written by Lamont Dozier of "Holland-Dozier-Holland" fame who wrote all those great Motown classics ("Heatwave" by Martha & the Vandellas; "Can I Get a Witness" by Marvin Gaye; "Where Did Our Love Go" by the Supremes; "I Can't Help Myself" by the Four Tops; "This Old Heart of Mine" by the Isley Brothers--just to list a few by the many various artists) and the countless cover versions of those songs but this was probably the biggest song that Dozier wrote apart from the Hollands. Well, at least until he hooked up with Phil Collins for the 1988 #1 hit by Collins, "Two Hearts" (from Collins' movie "Buster").
Gravel in a velvet purse! One of the best singers from the UK. Totally underrated. Please listen to Hoodoo by Alison, it’s epic. Love your channel and the joy you both have of music.
Gradually, people I've been suggesting for ages are appearing. Great to hear Alison, such a great singer. Love Resurrection is even better and the video for Is This Love is great fun. So here we go again: two female singers from Britain that deserve a chance: Katie Melua and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. And we had T'Pau with Heart and Soul, we need a revisit for the mighty China In Your Hand.
Belated thanks for checking out Alison Moyet, Spot on with your comments-Colin Watd

She is quintessential for anyone who can appreciate one of the most prolific voices in music ever..... A truly underrated and amazing vocalist who never got full respect and praise from the industry. Once in a lifetime talent so glad I grew up with her amazing and unparalleled talent.
Finally... finally, i've been waiting so long for someone to react to Alison Moyet - Invincible. Applause for you guys to choose to react to this song👍🏻
I feel like she was channeling something real. The pain and angst in her voice is so authentic. We've all dated a jerk and tried to rationalize their bad behavior. The message is very poignant and tangible, and delivers through what would otherwise be just a very pleasant song.
Sadly a totaly underated songstress and story teller who doesnt get the recognition she deserves. Her back catalogue is awesome and her live version of 'nobodys diary' is phenominal
I've been a fan of Alison since the Yazoo days. Her voice is magnificent. You have to listen to Love Resurrection, it shows of her vocal range superbly. Excellent choice Amber, it's just what I need today. Cheers, Paul.😀👍📀🎶❤️
The thing you’re not catching about Yazoo is that Moyet was the singer, but not the person who formed the duet. That was the keyboardist. Vince Clark had a vision to make commercially successful electronic music. So first he got his buddy Andy Fletcher involved, and since they didn’t have a keyboard and knew a guy named Martin Gore who did, they talked him into joining their fledgling band. They were still missing something though because Clark’s vocals weren’t cutting it and he didn’t want to be a frontman anyway. By chance visiting an arts college they heard Dave Gahan singing and brought him in, and adopted Gahan’s suggestion they rename their band to Depeche Mode. Clark wrote a couple singles, the band got a record deal, they cut their first album…and because he was uncomfortable with the fame and the fact he was viewed as the frontman for the band still, he announced he was leaving the band after their first tour, and did. But he still wanted to make music, so he started up something new and grabbed a singer he knew of from his hometown, I believe (where most of Depeche Mode were from, too), Alison Moyet, and formed Yazoo. I think Upstairs at Eric’s was the only album they cut before he decided that act, too, was too popular. After another failed project to be a nameless songwriter behind a roster of different singers called The Assembly, he managed to wind up with singer Andy Bell to form Erasure. All told, Clark is one of the most successful artists in the history of British pop music with dozens of top 10 hits to his name - or rather to the names of the groups he’s created.
She is amazing! Love her solo stuff, if I remember right she was in a relationship with her partner from Yazoo. They split, the band split and she went solo and he continued with Erasure 🤔
