One of my very favorite songs is "Ain't No Way." I grew up on Aretha Franklin. I know Cissy Houston sang the amazing backup to her rendition (Aretha is the Queen). Wendy Moten's version (The Voice) made me cry. And yes, this talented young woman from Maine, (originally from Guatemala), brought tears, too. She is going places & I mean, upwards because she has an amazing voice!!! 👏 ❤️ PS. Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye & John Fogerty of CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival) all released the song "I Heard it from the Grapevine." Each of their different renditions of that song were amazing & it was a hit for all of them. I say this to bring home the concept that just because there are variations of a song, it isn't a competition to the listener. They can all be amazing & like I said, if there are tears involved via the listener, then it's hit it's mark - the beauty.

I do believe even Aretha heard that one...this young woman is going places!

I don't know the conditions of her adoption, however, if there is any way they could help her meet her birth mom, it would be amazing for them both and her new parents. Life is too short, seeing each other again will cover a lot of missed mileage. I didn't hear about her real father though.

I want be watch American idol anymore after the way I was done by someone on there . Commenting with him for 3 yrs and it turn out really bad . And he was my favorite singer since I was 17 now I'm 66 .

She was really good, I'm not trying to rain on her parade, I've read stories where the child finds the birth parents and forget about the ones that raised them and loved them and now that want to highlight them. I don't know much but yes you can love them but no ones should be above your adopted parents in any fashion they wanted and loved you more than anyone. Your birth parent didn't look for you even at your adult age. Why???? And now your focus on her. I just don't understand.
