I finally had time to sit and relax with this wonderful walkthrough!! I loved your insights and your clear explanation. I really like the numerological power of this deck. Also, the approach to court cards is wonderful, I loved las curanderas! Thank you so much 💕🌿
We're just coming into Spring and I've purchased this deck so was interested in your perspective and insight. I found it enlightening and helpful. Thanks.
Absolutely, thanks so much for watching! I definitely had my doubts about how well I could work with a botanical deck but I think the structure of this one makes all the difference. 😊💖🌿
Thank you much for this well structured walk through of this deck. I love the art work on this and it has been on my wish list for long, but I haven't made up my mind to buy it yet because I am not very good with plant/herbal medicine as such. Your walk through gave me a different way of looking at this deck. ❤️
Thank you!!! I’m so glad it gave you a different way of looking at the deck. This deck was intimidating to me at first but understanding the structure changed that completely!
I am here 4 years later, looking at this deck. This is a really excellent walkthrough! So much info! Thank you. ❤ I do need to think on some of these cards where they correspond to ogam, as I know if I read with this deck -- Hawthorn for example is a very challenging fid and this would come to mind with the Lovers card which is interesting. It feels like a very well thought out deck and one that might actually be workable for me even as someone with little herbal knowledge.
I can’t believe I’ve had this deck for over four years! And in all that time it’s still one of my most-loved despite the fact that I am no more of a “herbcrafter” than I was when I first got it. 😆 Now I’m curious to know all the overlaps between this deck and ogam…interestingly enough the seven of water (birch) depicts ogam staves in the illustration so the creators were definitely aware of ogam at least as a divinatory system but I’m not sure how much they thought of it in making associations to the trees in the deck. Time to make more notes in my guidebook I guess! So glad you found the walkthrough helpful 💖
@@SunsetBoughTarot That is so helpful too, knowing that you love it still and that loving it hasn't been contingent on you becoming an herbal expert!! I'm not looking for another intensive study project at the moment. Birch in the ogam has to do with beginnings -- birch is often seen first as it lives on the edges of forests. I'd have to think on the 7 of Water and birch. ❤
You totally sold me on this deck 🤩 I am going back and forth on this deck for a couple of months now. On the one hand I'm so restlessly drawn to the artwork and it's harmony. On the other hand I was disappointed to hear that the companion book did not include a lot of descriptions on the plants. Please tell me the information about the numerology and elemental associations in this deck you described, are they mentioned in the companion book or did you have to do extra research?
Yes, everything that I talked about as far as the numerological and elemental associations is from the book. I had my doubts about how well I’d be able to work with this deck but then as it turned out the system was so well-constructed that I found myself connecting with it much more easily than I expected! There were a few cards where I didn’t feel satisfied with the book description and did a little extra research but only a very few...for the most part I think the guidebook is an excellent resource!
Wonderful walkthrough! I can see why so many people have been gushing about this deck. The images are so pretty and the choices for each card seem well thought out. Blackberry and the Devil: love that! xoxoxo
Isn’t blackberry so surprisingly perfect for the Devil? I always think about the love/hate relationship we had with the GIANT blackberry hedge on the edge of the yard in the house where I grew up...so yummy but constantly threatening to take over everything! I really think they did such a beautiful job with this deck...I didn’t think I’d find it as readable as I do! 💖😊😘
OMG thank you for such an incredibly well-articulated walkthrough of this deck. You've really gotten me so much more excited about this deck. I've struggled a bit with my herbal decks, in general, but this is my favourite and you helped me see so many more little treasures in this deck!
I’m so glad this helped get you more excited about the deck! Since I bought this primarily because I was grabbed by the artwork I had my doubts about whether I would be able to work well with a botanical deck...but when I got it and went through the guidebook the structure and system of this one just blew me away. It’s so well thought out!
This is one of my favorites. I wrote on the bottoms to help me connect more with the imagery. thanks for sharing. I also review decks (and upload pick a cards)if you'd like to visit, sometime. new subscriber!!
I have never seen a full walk-through of this deck and I didn’t know how it was structured. Even though I don’t use or know much about plants and herbs, I find this deck really beautiful. This was a fantastic walk-through, Sarah! 🤩
Thank you for this lovely video. This is one of my favourite decks. The artwork draws me in like no other deck. They transport me into my memories as a child in summer. I'm also learning so much through this deck.
Thank you so much for watching! I love this deck too, and I wasn’t sure how well I’d be able to work with it at the beginning but ultimately ended up connecting with it so strongly. Love love love it!
