Aimie Herbert aka. Herberta is a London based DJ and Producer. Aimie spent her youth in the north of England before moving to Brighton to embark on her creative journey studying Fine Art at university. Art and music have always been integral to Aimie’s way of life with her love of painting leading to residencies in China and Sweden and exhibitions in London.
Aimie’s musical journey began in Brighton and it was during this time she discovered a love for production alongside her DJ work. A love of Layered beats, melodic fragments and ASMR vocals. A fusion of ambient electronica with minimal melodic techno.
Aimie has been DJing for many years, playing across the UK and Europe. Playing legendary venues such as Ministry of Sound, The National History Museum, Egg London, Pow Brixton and for brands such as Camper Shoes in Barcelona.
Her first single On High was released in 2020 and led to a New artist intro mix on BBC Radio London. Aimie also performed a DJ set outside of the BBC Piazza in London. Aimie is known for having a sound rooted in high-energy trance, dance, techno and wanted to take this love of DJing into her own space so she set up the regular London-based club night Eterna with fellow DJ Hannah Thurlow. Taking the night across London culminating in a recent event at East London Favourite, The Glove That Fits. A monthly show on Bloop London followed and has exposed Aimie to a new audience with her monthly live mixes in the studio.
Aimie's second single, With You was released on Blue Cupid Records in 2022. A meditative dance track featuring Aimie’s own vocals intertwined over a euphoric dance groove. This track was featured on the radio on such programmes as BBC Introducing Radio 1 Dance with Jaguar.
When Aimie is not making music she is the striking force for the Whippets FC Football Club in east London, often DJing at footballing events. Aimie also works a DJ Tutor for esteemed academys such as LSA and LSEM.
After spending much of the last year creating new music, Aimie is gearing up to release her first EP early next year. Things are looking very exciting in 2024 for Herberta!
