I've never liked blues or jazz , I'm a rock and roll heavy metal dude , but shit when I heard Herbie play I said to my self more people should appreciate this type of music
yeah man I feel you seriously like people should stop listening to the other crap and listen to music like this this music will save the music industry I just know it man
same as someone whos played metal for years. most of us metalheads arent as one dimensional as people try to peg us. rather the opposite. im just as happy with brutal death metal as impressionist composers like debussey. depends on my mood.
Yeah, I know you're supposed to like jazz, Miles and the rest. I really never liked straight up jazz that much. But this is jazz fusion which is different and I do like it.
This a Bad Ass version . A kick in the ass funky shit. Can't get no funkier than this right here for a jazz artist. If you don't like this then you don't like music. Period
Anything that you've listened in the last thirty years with a synth in it began with this man. For the younglings you might want to do your homework and pay the appropriate respects to a living legend.
+manb4war Really? Anything with a synth in the last 30 years? And what about Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Klaus Schulze and Kraftwerk? Hell man, Vangelis was experimenting with synths long before Hancock ever thought of using them.
Nico 76 No one is saying Herbie Hancock invented the synth or that he was the first to use one. What I AM saying is Herbie Hancock's music has greatly impacted and influenced modern day music and musicians. We're not simply talking about the synth, we're talking about the music he made with it.
Ш е д е в р Х е р б и Х э н к о к а " Х а м е л е о н " впервые услышал в 1978 году !!!!! Бобинную запись поставил для прослушивания мой новый друг !!!!!
What a Masterclass on how to stay in the moment and shred some free-jazz! Outstanding feeling, touch, style interpretation and stage presence! It just doesn't get any better!!!!
Absolutely F---ing Amazing ! No music stands ..... This guy is my mentor riff and I am attempting recording a different version of the song. The only LIVING legends there are seem to be him.... he seems to be very much living to me! If people followed his example of free form there would be alot of jazz on this planet. Right now the most skilled musicians compete for hack status playing standards with orchestras.... you know who I am talking about. Herbie Hancock will never be hiding behind a music stand. Hallelujah! Amen!
1.) Herbie Hancock: Electric piano, clavinet, synthesizer Bennie Maupin: saxaphone, clarinet, flute Paul Jackson: bass Bill Summers: Non drum percussion Harvey Mason: drums 2.) Funk/Jazz Fusion 3.) 32 bar blues 4.) Herbie Hancock is just to funky to not include on this jazz playlist. I needed some funky fusion in the mix.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS COMMENT WILL I NEEDED THIS FOR MY MUSIC HOMEWORK AND IM SHIT AT MUSIC SO THANK YOU FOR THIS COMMENT SO NOW I CAN ANSWER THE QUESTION
"Offensively low?" LMAO! Simmer down playboy. Either you're listening through a laptop (not recommended), your speakers are crap, or you are deaf. Because the bass is plenty loud in the mix. You should be listening through headphones. BTW, the song ain't about the bass. It's about Herbie on the keys.
Great performance...lol herbie was out way before video games....people just dont know good music anymore. Wish more kids got off of video games and phone and learn how to play an instrument.
Meh generally I don't like game music or the usual music used in series, but there are a few exceptions, for example the intro of Tokyo Ghoul √A and the outro of Attack on Titan season 2.
Amazing that we all can watch this . Im here cause i am and yes i like it. All the youtube trolls are prob from russia or north korea. And thats why they dont like the history of our music.
The drummer and the rhythmsection are searching for eachothers feel...The drummer plays less round then for example the rest.. That doesn, t mean it,s bad.... It,s in a development state, as a band...Ofcourse all individuals are superb players!! My 2 cents...
I've seen them live, watched 100s of vids, and I still can't really dig Lionel Loueke's playing. It just sounds like he halfway knows the song is just going through the motions/playing air guitar half the time.
eh les gars, a tous lesr appeurs, voila pour vous une petite leçon d'histoire de votre 'Histoire" et sachez que ce bonhomme a inventé ce courant qui aujourd'hui est repris a toutes les sauces...
Not familiar with that instrument.....although I vaguely remember Edgar Winter using something similar on "Frankenstein".......is his left hand actually playing anything or is it just for show?
Ah...kool.....I got a closer look at the Edgar Winter's video that I haven't seen in over 40 years and they don't really look the same at all......still....I wonder what Edgar's instrument was now.....lol
