*Interesting Fact:* I spent 7 hours looking for the right music to suit this video, I think I listened to every song on 2 music websites, trying to find the best song to fit Herbie's happy, quirky personality, not sure if I could have found better, but after 7 hours I felt this music was good enough.

It's very close to the original. The original was a 1966. It just needs the VW emblems on the hubcaps and the hood. The original was also left hand drive. Not much you can do about that living in a country were you all drive on the left side of the road. Great job! You've inspired me to go work on my own classic.
Bob Adams Herbie was actually a 1963 ragtop beetle and for the first few movies the VW badges had to be removed as Volkswagen wasn’t very keen on the idea - once the Herbie franchise took off the badges went back on for later movies and tv series
@@HeathsGarage Maybe it was the later movies they used a 1966. I could be wrong, Still you've done a great job. I think VW should lighten up. This car is an a complement to them. You'd think they'd be proud.
20k is alot of $$$....growing up in monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽 as a kid I use to see 10 sec vw bugs at the autodromo race track. This was back in the 90s..still great vw builders in Mexico for half the u.s price..prob go back home and have a turbo efi motor built
Great sounding engine. It looks like the front wheel has a pair of captive tracks that can be pulled this way or that to steer. Advice: Don't throw away your daily driver and plan on using this bike instead.
Planning on buying Tesla's upcoming $25,000 compact car and painting it to look like Herbie. The EV car of the people Both are quick and humble (no roaring engine or extreme colors) Can't wait for it. Maybe it will spread it's love around the world through news outlets and RU-vidrs like this one did.

The original engine for Herbie they're using 1835cc with 2 bbl carb and this new custom build engine cost him USD20k, how fast this boy can run? Wait...USD or AUD? :)

Where did you get the rag top and the letters for the tires ? I have my own Herbie MonteCarlo replica , not good as yours, let say under construction!! I have allready bought some props from Mr Herbie but I still need some others parts like the correct alloy wheels, interior , seats and as mentioned above the ragtop!!!! Hope one day mine becomes beautiful as your !!!!! Thanks in advance Davide

@@WonderWorldYTC no I dont agree with that. The tires if they were just plain white walls would be fine even red. But its the words or the letters that when spinning just does not look right to me. I am a Herbie Love Bug fan with Buddy Hackett who I always loved.
@@WonderWorldYTC the letters when the wheel rotates looks like a fluttering film strip. I was thinking if they put a comic strip instead then when the wheel rotates the image would look like its moving. The letters can only be read when the car us stopped. And a person would have to look upside down to see it all, so that really defears the image. And it takes away from Herbie by the confusing letters going round and round. Just put whitewalls on and I think it would look perfect. But thats my unwanted opinion. Other than that the Bug is awesome.
Tim Cantrell You are right, in the love bug with Buddy Hackett Herbie didn’t have tyre lettering. Herbie goes to Monte Carlo (which mine is based on) ran these Goodyear GT Radials - so to be screen accurate I had to fit them. Obviously they were really going for the 70’s race car look with the white tyre lettering
I prefer horace over herbie... I really wish horace would have gotten more than 1 movie and was the car that beat out herbie... which horace is the car that should have sent herbie to riretirement from races herbie should have been done.. him winning every race is boring and bad writing.. overall herbie sucks..
