Those gadgets Horace carries reminds me so much of Wacky Races. I'm sure Dick Dastardly would have loved to drive Horace. That little car's got just his kind of attitude. ;)
No. Nothing of all that is the answer: I personally found the truth to the "jet-like" noise about 7 years ago, when I was on the verge of buy a Beetle and turn it into a state-of-art replica of Horace... scrolling through the documentation about the "dynamic" Horace (they buily two of them for the '97 reboot, one for the "static" shots and the dynamic one for the "on the road" and "racing" scenes), I discovered that it had not a little gas-turbine engine mounted in the front coupled to the stock boxer - as I initially thought for the great number of small intakes on the bonnet. The story went like this:, after some tests before the filming of "Herbie vs. Horace", they found that the air-cooled engine tended to overheat as hell, since the fan was not able to pick enough air because of the aesthetic modifications on the rear. These mods were great to see, but the new three thin intakes over the engine (see the "granade attack" scene) were as cool to see as... uncooling for the engine air feeding. So they came up with coupling the stock cooling fan with an ENORMOUS (compared to the first) one right behind these 3 grills. It was alimented (of course) by a 25 Volts battery... and therefore, with such a huge cooling fan (at the time there was even a rumor that it came from a 917 for the sheer size! 😅 But as a gianormous fan of the latter, I really don't think so...) the infamous "jet / gas turbine" sound was born. They found it cool (as it is indeed) for the overall "character" of Horace, so they made it sound in post-production as rumorous as the boxer engine. But it was a very slim increase in volume, because it was for true so noisy to almost cover the 1.2 liters air-cooled Volks' engine! Hope I have been useful and to have cleared once for all the very peculiar as amazing engine sound of "The Hate Bug" Horace! 👌🏼
Horace unnerves me. When it comes to Herbie, he doesn’t have any facial expressions. Only on the posters, does he have eyes or any other facial features. You see how he feels through how he acts and how he sounds, or how he’s framed on camera. Horace, on the other hand, can make facial expressions. I’m not sure how he does, but I find that genuinely frightening.
It’s pretty creepy… really well done. Herbie has facial expressions in Fully Loaded but its not creepy like Horace here. I like Herbie better without the facial expressions though.
When i was a kid, i thought this race was a fanmade video on RU-vid. Because it didn't look as good as the other Herbie movies. And i was quiet surprised when i found out that this was an actual Herbie movie. Because i was thought that there were five Herbie movies. The original, Rides Again, Monte Carlo, Bananas and Fully Loaded. And the title sequence in Fully Loaded didn't show any scenes from this '97 movie
Im trying so hard to find all of the Herbie stuff, have watched these Herbie the Love Bug Herbie Rides Again Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo Herbie Goes Bananas 5 of the herbie tv series episodes Can someone PLEASEEEE tell me where horrice is because ive been looking for this forever! @@sashamountainwater9322. Oh, hi pal! So, this scene of the video it's from Herbie, The Love Bug (1997), and Horace appears on it. I found on RU-vid the full movie. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rzEiLplP4Nw.html. Have a nice ride watching the movie, sir!
As a kid, I would've searched for this video for Herbie. As an adult, I searched for this video for Bruce Campbell lol. I never knew Ash Williams was a race car driver!
i completely forgot that Bruce Campbell was in this movie. after seeing just about all the other films he was in, it's a freaking shock to see him in something family oriented.
@@astrochaos4182 Some cars in Hot VW and the like stay famous a long time. The builders get famous and are asked to attend car shows nation wide. It's a pretty cool testament to the car culture during that time.
Horace is evil but good wins why evil gonna win Good is🏆evil is 👎 evil loser and herbie is winer he win 1st and 3rd herbis is good Horace is evil 😈 but the race is amazing 👏 😉
3:58 - When I first saw this, I thought the same thing as Hank: "You have got to be joking!" 4:57 - "Now that's racing" he says. No it's not! That's cheating, damaging another car like that!

Here’s a fun fact about these two cars, Herbie since he’s a White car he’s more of a Good sided And Horace in the other hand since he’s black , he’s more of a bad sided racer Or how can I say this in the other hand, there a both of a ying yang of Controlment.
A mistake! At 03:28 you can see that Herbie's right side front hubcap is fly off by that ram, but at 04:54, the hubcap is still there??? The hubcap that fly off is chrome color, means its not Horace's hubcap as he have black one. Sure its Herbie's hubcap, but how the hubcap still on car after its fly off directly in front of camera? Its a mistake, the same mistake happened in Steve Mc Queen's Bullitt too! I don't why it happen with every movies 😂😂😂😂
the spare is flat because the windshield wiper bottle is powered by spare tire air.... its very normal problem in the mid 60s bugs. this is the worst herbie movie ever...
