This was the line up i love the most, that Long Ago album was just classic, memories of growing up in the 80's. I loved Light of the Pacific and Whats be happen but they took it to another level with this line up. Willie Hona's and Carl's vocals never leave my head. . I felt they peaked with Long Ago. Saw them for the first time at the Mt Taratara festival in Kaeo in 81, then at Tramways, Newtown and also at the Taita Hotel. AWESOME!
had some great times with this band, Jack was/is my bro and Willie and Carl and Fred were all really cool dudes too, i'll never forget doing this gig with them down in Hamilton with The Willie Dayson Blues Band and we went to this party out at this farmhouse out the back roads up in the wop wops, never been so stoned off my trolley in my life lol
Thanks for uploading this bro its awesome.... I used to go see them play at Rainbows End in the weekends when I was a kid, and other Kiwi bands.... my Uncle worked there so every weekend I was there..... Miss those days and the good ol oldskool Kiwi music....
Great band, toured Fiji in the 80s and also in the early 90s. After the 90s concert the band came to our suburb of Raiwai a 3 minutes drive from the concert arena, to meet the youths and share few beers and fresh aroma buds. Great friends great memories and yes some soothing acoustic reggae music.
Herbs's most influence from reggae band is Third World... actually it reminds me also One of their several but great album, Live Un Tahiti, if some of you have ever heard it... if it appeared again, thanks for sharing
