I don't remember where I heard this, but I remember hearing how "Dan Hibiki is a joke among men, whereas Hercule Satan is a joke among gods," and I feel like I couldn't have summarized this matchup any other way.
@@jarenmontaos5195 I honestly think that if Mr Satan had been introduced back in the early/mid DragonBall era, like back when the Red Ribbon Army generals having power-levels in the 100-200 or Cyborg Tao (the guy that killed Satan's master) being 210 made you monstrously strong, he'd have been taken much more seriously.
@A Guy gouken said Dan has the potential to mop the floor with everyone in street fighter but he stopped teaching him when he learned Dan was learning out of vengeance
The last case of him being fixed to win and not being viewed as a fraud did have a good benefit in the end of the Buu Saga. Now that he's convinced those crazy things he saw from Cell and Goku and many others...they aren't illusionists with light shows and tricks. They are overpowered beings who can concentrate their energy to fly, fire various blasts from their body, regenerate, and he aided in getting Goku the energy he needed to create the Spirit Bomb to defeat Kid Buu.
At the start of Dragon Ball Super, he decided it's best he donates his 100000000 Zeni to Goku and his family, he already is rich himself and Vegeta is married to Bulma who is part of the richest family on Earth. So...Goku was soon compelled to accept it so he could give a good funding to his family and do more training for possibly tougher foes.
Brad Venable, who voiced Dan Hibiki in this video, as well as Otakan in the Sam Fisher vs Solid Snake video, passed away recently, and I thought it deserved a mention. Brad may not have been the kind of recognizable name the VA community that gets top billing in popular video games/anime, but by all accounts, and according to his peers, he was a good man who did his job well with a smile and an upbeat attitude, and his friends and coworkers miss him dearly. Please, out of respect and kindness, when you have a moment, offer your condolences for his loved ones.
We all laugh at Dan and Hercule but deep down we all know each and everyone of us would actually lose if we were pitted against them... Thats the saddest fact of all death battle history
***** ...Oh, I always thought she was dead anyways... woops. Still, all things considered, it's pretty impressive to survive human extinction at close range, be the first to tackle Cell, and spend a weekend with Bu, yet have not a scratch on him, well save for a point blank gunshot, but he made it out of that one too. It just goes to show what happens when you take on the wrath of Satan!
The ending hits different when you learn that the voice actor for Dan in this Death Battle passed away. RIP Brad, you were spot-on playing the character.
In fairness to Dan, I think it's implied on more than one occasion, or at least in some tie-in media, that in comparison to regular martial artists, he'd probably be a high level competitor... but he's trying to compete with superhumans, genetically engineered monsters, mutants, occasionally demons and sometimes robots. Mr. Satan still has a legitimate claim to the victory here, and as noted in context... he'd probably have been fairly powerful in early or even mid-dragonball.
Never forget that Mr Satan was literally slapped into a mountain by Perfect Cell and not only did he survive, he sustained no visible injuries from it. This was a strike from a being that could reduce a normal human being into a fine red mist with his pinkie finger, and Cell had no reason to hold back. Krillin and Yamcha die if someone with double their power level punches them, but Mr Satan survives hits from people with power levels *exponentially* higher than his.
@@gman4736 Being a Street Fighter and DBZ fanatic, I gotta say this fight could've gone either way. They're both pretty pathetic within the contaxts of their universe's.
I have to admit, Sagat can be surprisingly nice sometimes. He not only held back against Dan, but he complimented Ryu even after nearly winning against him. Hell, that second part is how he got his awesome scar. In fact, Sagat really held back against Dan because he felt bad about killing his dad. I still love how you guys worded it as if he felt bad about how weak Dan was though! XD
Sagat beat ryu fair and square and Ryu was such a sore loser he tapped into his dark side to win through a cheap sucker punch to the chest Excuse Sagat for being a bit upset over how being honorable screwed him over
Hi, i've Dan video too here, would you like to check it out & give your opinion about it 🙂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1r1iHByfBWY.html
@@fireypiranha3931you should probably edit to specify that, his talent was good but you shouldn't treat the character like him, you should say his actual name.
@@Lowkeylie technically yamcha died only twice, one with the sayians and one with buu, so technically he died the same amount of times of piccolo, crilin, goku, vegeta and tien. the actual z fighter with less deaths overall is gohan, which has never died, and gotenks (both trunks and goten never died). yamcha is not the worst z fighter since he technically could definitely beat chiaozu and maybe crilin, not sure about tien though. but he could, definitely, certainly, 100% of chance beat hercule and dan, probably together.
They didn't mention how Hercule killed Kid Buu. Kid Buu actually died from a delayed effect of Hercule's punch that happened to take effect at the same moment as the spirit bomb
Dan was weirdly also one of my favourite players in Street Fighter Alpha 2. This guy could kick some ass if you knew how to play, although not being among the first class fighters. So playing with him cranked up the reward factor.🎉
wait....hercule can lift a load of busses around 60 tonnes and previously they said wolverine can lift around 2 tonnes HERCULE IS STRONGER THAN WOLVERINE!?!?
+Demarco Mina but its still a good feat imagine wheels that wont move because of the brakes it might as well be each bus is on a quad of stand corners its not like thell move to help its just less friction
I’ll just leave this here for anyone who might stumble across it: the voice actor of Dan Hibiki in this episode, Brad Venable, has died, -seemingly from COVID-19.- Rest in peace good fellow, you did an amazing job in this episode. May your work and memory live on for ages. *EDIT (6/2/2022) :* It is unknown if Brad Venable died of COVID-19. At the time his death was confirmed by his wife and voice acting peers, the cause was never stated, and remains so to this day. Initially, Brad was being eulogized anonymously on Twitter, and there was a lot of confusion and rumors that were spread, and I jumped the gun on one of them when writing the original comment. I am sincerely sorry for the misinformation I've spread. I've had notifications off on RU-vid for a long time for personal reasons, and I didn't know or expect this comment would gain the traction and attention it has. I hope this edit makes things right.
Hercule Satan could actually be a Street Fighter Champion, potentially. While Dan is...........Well pathetic at best. The two of them are only pathetic in context to their universes.
True, TK. And however much a dipstick dan is, he pulled off a Raging Demon, which REALLY made me uneasy. It may have been stopped by Sakura's backpack, but he CAN do it.
@@CannabisDreamsSurviving a punch from Kid Buu and a swat from Cell (when both had no reason to hold back) with just minor injuries is definitely above any (atleast durability) feat Deku’s ever gone through
Brad Venable you did an epic job of voicing Dan in this, as well as the other many voicework you've done over the years. You're gonna be missed and won't be forgotten
If you think about it mr satan has some pretty good feats for a human, he took hit from cell and kick from omega shenron he send spopowitch flying with one kick and took down 20 people in 2 seconds
He also pulled 60tons of busses, if he was an actually marshal artist in real life, his dynamite punch might actually make a normal human’s head explode.
I feel kinda bad for Mark actually. He's actually not that terrible, but he lives in a world where Gods so powerful they could level a city by flexing. Kind of unfair.
I think it's worth pointing out that Dan throws fireballs with one hand, which in the Street Fighter universe is a sign of extreme skill (although it's likely this has less to do with his strength and more to do with him being a parody of the main character of Art of Fighting, who also throws fireballs with one hand)
If you think about it, Hercule battles humans. In the Street Fighter universe, or almost any fictional universe, Dan would be just a little pest. But in the real world, Dan would be utterly ridiculously powerful.
@@sarcasticsuperjerk18 yeah they said in the episode that he can take on several untrained men at the same time,l. So he sucks in the street fighter universe, but he'd been pretty strong in real life
@@captainbirch9835 The one thing they left out is that while most of Dan's moves have limited range, when his attacks land they hit and hit hard! Dan is actually pretty strong.
Honestly, anyone who could survive a slap from Cell and a punch from Kid Buu (not to mention dodging a kick from Buu - albeit accidentally) is stronger and faster than the entire cast of Street Fighter put together.
Golden Garuda All of the people you mentioned require Ki do that though, whereas Hercules is all natural strength. Also, the androids aren’t completely human.
yeah I just came back for that particular comment ( also an alternate ending version of if Deku wins would have been: Good luck Hercule. You may be dead facing against you'll be facing against UA's Green up-and-coming hero)
+Kevin Jong Even if the argument of "But Whis turned time backwards" was brought in, Whis technically "undid" his death as if it never happened. Plus, from what I've learned, being pathetic enough like Hercule Satan can be a good thing xD
You know your universe is crazy overpowered when a human who won a world martial arts tournament, can move faster in bursts than the human eye can see and can tow 4 busses on his own is your universe's "joke" character.
I think he's the only one. Cell: Goku (killed), Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Picollo, Krillin, Android 16, 17 and 18 (all killed/eaten), Tien, Mr. Satan. This, of course, is counting all three of Cells forms. Also Trunks was killed by Cell in an alternate future, if you want to get down to it. Majin Buu: Goku, Gohan (Killed), Vegeta (Killed), Trunks (Killed), Goten (Killed), Picollo (Killed), Krillin (Killed), Tien (Killed), Android 18 (Killed), Mr Satan. Yep. He's the only guy who fought both and survived.
"Also Trunks was killed by Cell in an alternate future, if you want to get down to it." Trunks was also killed by Super Perfect Cell (shot the hole through his heart). So trunks was killed by Cell twice. :D
@@notfloweyyt7618 i dont know man dan beat multiple thugs who were all grown men themselves armed with bats and crowbars using nothing but his barehands
Hercule is considered strongest on earth and can't use ki. Let's just add to the fact that he became good friends with all the z fighters that they all allowed him to win the tournament, even vegeta!
Being a terrible fighter, in this case. Mr. Satan was a legitimate World Champion, but Dan's opponent LET him win. In fairness, Mr. Satan claimed he beat nearly Godly beings, and Goku, Vegeta, or most other Z fighters simply let him take the credit, even though they knew the truth. Dan is arrogant and not necessarily honorable either.
Petition for Dan Hibiki to return to Death Battle to fight Glass Joe from Punch-Out. Two weaklings who have been beaten down time and time again, but never give up and always get back up to try again. Truly inspirational!
Dan from street fighter alpha 2 was nowhere near this pathetic, he actually was pretty bad ass... too bad every other version of him in existence is pathetic lol
Try street fighter alpha dan did considerable damage, was faster and his fireball went further. It still was pathetic but better than now, street fighter alpha dan is the strongest canon dan.
Tony Davis Speaking of the Fonz, does anyone remember the episode when the Fonz faced off against Mork from Mork & Mindy in Al's diner? Death Battle won't have to do that match!
At this point, I think Mr. Satan is actually superhuman. That kind of charisma stat is inhuman. He was able to make his con work for so long AND befriended Buu.
We need to see on Deathbattle is Darkseid vs Thanos Samurai Jack vs Kenshin Himura Kenshi vs Daredevil Ranma vs Inuyasha Cell vs Amazo Vash The Stampede vs Gene Starwind
If a character from RWBY is showing up in Death Battle, then this can only mean Boomstick is going to be showing up in Red vs Blue. Wait...oh my god, what if Sarge is actually Boomstick in the future?
Satan *actually* saved the earth several times over ~ while not by is hand~ his actions certainly DID make a HUGE difference! Pushing characters out of the way, encourraging the earth to spend their energy for a Ki bomb, and giving Goku $$$ so Chichi let him train... he sure does pull his weight and then some!
Okay, when the soul destroying technique was brought up, I was sure Hercule would lose this. ... At least until a minute into the fight and realised, not only was Hercule's luck so stupid he could find a way to avoid it, but Dan was so clumsy he was going to be his own demise
I never really would consider luck a factor for Death Battle ... but when the difference of Luck is huge, I understand. Especially when the two factors are on complete different sides of the spectrum of luck.
That is the thing about Dragon Ball. Hercule is legitimately one of, if not the, strongest normal human beings in the world. It's just that he's surrounded by a bunch of superheroes that makes him look worthless. Dan is a joke even by normal human comparisons.
Yeah, I feel Mr. Satan doesn't get nearly enough credit. Sure he's not an uber-powered being like most of the main DBZ cast, but compared to the average human, even strong men, he would definitely come off *really* strong, and there were no tricks or deceptions in those demonstrations with the tour buses and bricks, or even against Cell. That was all his legitimate strength and ability.
so has yamcha on several occasions He has fought against every major threat that has come to the earth knowing he wasn't strong enough to win but choosing to fight anyway that more then hercule ever did sure he threw 16 in front of gohan and made people lend goku there energy but those thing were he had something to gain cells defeat made him famous which was the only reason he could help with the spirit bomb which in turn made him more famous he is a showman not a hero yamcha is
MicroTDG oh cuz he never dies I get it. The farmer got a bullet from radditz but hercule has been attacked by much stronger villains such as cell, buu, and shenron. Hercule also has never died. Where I can appreciate the funny meme of the truck driving farmer who makes an appearance in every saga, I dont think he would be a better opponent than hercule. That is saying something since.. well I think hercule is lame honestly.
+doodoojerky The thing is Satan always wins, by dumb luck or by pity, but he wins, Dan amost always loses by his stupidity. Maybe he is a little bit better than Satan, but lacks the du,b luck that Satan has.
Haku infinite Because he's not really that strong. The guy is what we real people called a fake who hides behind a bunch of lies and script his way to victories just so he can have fame and fortune. It's true in his early days he may had being strong but with all the fake tricks, steroid use, and a bunch of puppets (some of the Z fighters included) at his hands I don't consider him as strong. A joke character? Yes. A strong character? I don't think so which is why I brought the General Tao thing in here to crush him for good.
Haku infinite Legit champion doesn't hide behind the media, taking credits for justice he did not commit, and surrounding himself with bunch of puppets. Legit champion should be honorable, willing to defend his title, and accept whatever outcomes happens to him. Hercules is none of that. Also my original comment was to Dustin Wasker, not you. You just so happen to come and made this bs up when in truth everyone know Hercules is a fraud and I'm sure his early championship days were frauds too. Kinda sad too cause guys like Nam, Giran, and Tao are more deserving of that championship.
Krillin Chestnut the one in his hand is clearly visible.. he was doing a monologue while waving it around.. besides.. Dan used a jetpack so who cares if satan uses a weapon? I'm more curious as to why he would pack a ship and a jukebox when preparing for a fight x.x why not a weapon.. like an actual weapon?
Is this guy smoking? Hercule is leagues stronger than Ken/Ryu and M.Bison. Akuma and Oro are probably the only people who can put him down. Hercule is a superhuman man. Look at his feats. Of course they are a joke to Goku and his gang, but by human standards, they are absurd.
@@Mastabacc But most characters in SF are beyond human. Remember: Ryu stood up to and defeated Akuma, who oneshotted an island. Ryu is about equal to Chun-li, who squares out with a lot of the cast.
The clip showing Hercule surviving a blow from Perfect Cell is, on its own, a spoiler for the outcome of this death battle. Just look at how far Hercule travelled in that scene; the amount of force required to send a man of his size flying that distance in a single blow is beyond anything seen in the Street Fighter universe and yet Mr. Satan survived the blow (and the impact with the mountain) with barely a scratch. No Street Fighter character can boast the same level of durability.
