I want a live action remake with Destiny's Child, Lizzo and Alicia Keys as the muses. Everyone else for casting I'm not sure on tbh. But we can start there!
g-an mervin gaitano see there i fixed it now you can relax and now take so seriously, damn no one ever thinks maybe her fucking keyboard messed up it always has to be a fucking racist thing, such a fucking stereotype thinking i would attack another person on no true, i mixed with French, Hispanic, and Caribbean
Isis Robinson what the hell is your problem>? if you don't have any dreams, don't understand the story of this film and can't relate with the scene. just back off
"That's Phil's boy." All Phil wanted was to be recognized and appreciated for the men he groomed to be heroes. After so many failed attempts, after wanting to throw in the towel, these three words finally being said were enough to make him happy for taking on the challenge of training a demi god.
Zeus not only moved stars around in the blink of an eye, but also made new ones and put them in the sky in also the blink of an eye. Damn, powerful old man.
Luxai Oh wow. I just lived 17 years of my life not knowing that guy moving the stars was Zeus LOL. The blue tint made me think it was Ouranos or something. Guess I should've looked closer haha.
Random detail/wondering time: Anyone else notice at the beginning of the song, when you actually see the Muses, that they're glowing (like the gods)? I think it's because that's their true form, and the other times you see them (Gospel Truth I, II, and III, I won't say I'm in love, and probably Zero to Hero too) they don't glow because they're just inhibiting statues or paintings of themselves.
That makes a lot of sense considering the muses are children of Zeus and Mnemosyne (if I recall correctly)... Which tecnically means that they'd like to make 'sweet music' with their half-brother >.>
I dont give a shit about how accurate this movie is to the original myth. I'd rather have this than the original anyway. source material be damned in this case.
That's pretty much Disney's schtick and it still holds true if Frozen is anything to go by. I'd be willing to bet $100 that anyone born after 1989 will have been introduced to the stories of Hercules, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Snow Queen, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, and Tarzan by the Disney films rather than the original stories or legends
KazeAizen True, but when those people are older and realize that the Disney films are based on stories, it could lead them to learn more about the original sources. So, in a way, Disney could push kids to go the library and learn about these stories when they're older
KazeAizen I would agree with all of those but Alice in Wonderland. That is definitely something people recognize from the source material first and the Disney movie second. Though, to be honest, I prefer Disney Aladdin over Thousand and One Nights Aladdin. At least Disney Aladdin took place in likely Arabia or Persia, rather than CHINA.
i prefer disney to the source material in almost all cases... those stories get rough in pretty much all instances plus the music is always catchier in these movies
Never understood the critics about historical accuracy. Disney movies are aimed at kids...imagine making a movie for kids where Gods were boning their sisters and brothers and Zeus was boning everything...yeah...nice movie to show to your kids. Lets also make all Disney movies into the original way way dark version of the fable. Like Sleeping Princess which is raped and impregnated while sleeping...that should make kids (and parents) happy. Disney even made Pocahontas 2 in a way of "you happy now? Assholes".
"Just remember in the darkest hour within you heart's the power for making you a hero too. So don't lose hope when you're forlorn" I mean...they dnt make songs like this anymore!
This movie inspired me to never give up and always search for people who will cheer you on and support you, even when it appears you may fail. Disney hits me hard with this one.
BTW......Hermes is voiced (and it's why he has glasses) by legendary bandleader Paul Shaffer..........which is why you see him playing keyboards in this number.....
"Just remember in the darkest hour within you heart's the power of making you a hero too. SO don't lose hope when your forlorn. Just keep your eyes upon the skies." That used to get me through my tough times growing up and now I am singing it to my three month old. Thank you Disney. 😃
OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICE THOSE SPECIFIC LYRICS LIKE I GET EMOTIONAL WHEN I PLAY THIS SONG. ITS LIKE A GOSPEL SONG OF INSPIRATION IM SO GLAD SOMEONE LIKE YOU GUYS NOTICE THEM SPECIAL LYRICS IM GETTING THEM TATTOOED ON ME
And I was also planning on singing this song to my kids in the future and have them sing it to themselves like wow I hope to meet you one day and we sing the song together and shed tears at the same time as we sing it
Easily one of the best endings to any Disney movie! Hades is cast down where he belongs, Hercules has become a true hero, Megara has regained her freedom and found a great guy to share it with, Phil finally gains the appreciation he'd craved for so long (And from the very same guy who taunted him earlier), and all to that freaking gorgeous song "A Star is Born"! I'll never forget it!
Tsuzyx Mulan, like Hercules both release in the golden era (Disney Renaissance) from 1989-1999. The only good “Disney” movies these days are computer animated (mainly Pixar, and Zootopia )
@@WisamSafi1978 but the reinassance era wasn't even Disney's Golden era, right? Still I think that in some aspects Disney's current era isn't near as timeless as the Reinassance. While, yes there are REALLY GOOD movies (Moana, Tangled, Wreck it Ralph and Zootopia) those kinda miss that zing factor that 2D animation and the classic musical formula provides. The company rn is in a weird phase and I believe that's why we get those awful Disney/Pixar continuations and live actions.
All older Disney movies make me cry because they have a sort of whimsical and enchanting feeling about them. They make me feel like I can do anything. The only thing Disney movies today have over Disney movies back then is that it emphasizes "girl power". It shows young girls (like me) that no matter what the circumstance may be, you can ALWAYS rely on yourself(well almost always).
STATRIMC95 Yes! That's totally fine! I love all Disney movies. I was just saying that the old Disney movies had a certain air about them that made those movies different from the new ones. They're all AMAZING though. I love the new ones just as much.

STATRIMC95 not tangled, but i do like the other ones!
TAVARIUS POWELL I have most but not all of them as they're sort of hard to come by for me because of where I live my weekly allowance. Lol. I do get them when I can, however.
Evan Sampson™ I've always wanted to know what the heck makes Frozen so great to people. I mean it was short the story wasn't the best and the music was just okay. Majorly overrated in my eyes.
I understand this, and that is why I asked what is so special about it? Trust me I have seen this movie more than 5 times, and I still believe it was good but not worth all of this attention and praise. People were saying it was so great and when I saw it I couldn't help but be underwhelmed. I just want to hear why so I can get an understanding why some people love it so much.
MY GOD the fucking nostalgia is unbearable right now. I just love this movie no matter how many years pass. I'm crying in the inside T_T I just want to be an innocent kid again :'(
When I was a kid I'll never realize the "that's Phil's boy" part cause I was losing it with the cat wearing Hercules merchandise and blowing a kiss with a sandal 😂😂😂
There is something so special about this song. I feel it’s meant for the outcasts who feel ignored or unloved, that you don’t have to be loved by everyone to be a good person (or to be a true hero) anyone can make it, anyone.
phil finally getting the credit/respect he deserved is the best part of this scene. go back to the fight hercules had w/ cyclops, all he needed was phil there to lift him up & he went from 0 to 100 just like that & took out cyclops. everyone needs a phil in their life, that one coach/trainer/friend/family who’s gonna be tough af on you, show you tough love when needed but will also be there for you when your down in the slumps to be that shoulder to cry or lean on & listen to wen you need them. thats what a true “phil” really is imo.
let's take a moment to just appreciate Hermes' "Hit it ladies" and the Muses sudden emergence from the clouds and starting the song on such a joyous vibe.
I only watched the full movie again last night after many years. I've only just noticed the massive American New York/Greek idioms in this movie. This is likely the most American/Greek movie ever. And I still love it. As said, the moment Phil sees Hercules in the stars, that's an amazing moment. A teacher, sees his accomplishments, while he still can.
A lot of Greek mythology enthusiasts dislike this movie because of the inaccuracy (which I think just adds to the hilarity), but they don't understand that this isn't a Hercules movie. It's a Superman reboot. Think about it - it follows the plot of the Richard Donner movie almost to the letter, the characters are very much like the Superman characters (sassy Lois/Meg, hothead Luthor/Hades, wise Jor El/Zeus, etc.), and there's always been a subconscious connection between heroes of myth and comic book superheroes.
I mean the new ones are good too(i'm a fan of the music in Moana) but the originals honestly just need more love. The music and storylines are really good and have a surprisingly low amount of plotholes!
@@perrigoingseventeen I'm glad That the redhead lady who yells at Hercules " Young man, we need a professional heroes, not an amateur! Is now a nice person at the end 😂😉
@@PerfectlyImperfect93 in the source material, yes. Which is why he went about his 12 labors. Because Zeus, once again, couldn't keep it in his pants... Toga. Thing. Anyway, his mother named him Heracles which meant "Glory to Hera" which was just a bitch slap (the mother had no idea she'd banged Zeus) and Hera was PISSED. However that doesn't happen here as we see Hercules is born on Olympus and completed his 12 labors during Zero to Hero. In the Disney version though they don't get a happy ending either as Hades curses them to lose their memories and forget one another. Which then is the setup for the animated series.
Just remember in the darkest hour within you heart's the power for making you a hero too. So don't lose hope when you're forlorn. -- Best lyrics ever. I love the muses!
This whole song is probably my favorite scene/sequence in the movie but all these years later I just realized how sweet the affectionate head-but between Meg and Pegasus is.
Love how the song has that thick fingerstyle bass groove, then when the credits come it cuts in with monstrous slap bass... The music from this movie just blows me away.
Yep, when searching for this video I didn't specify 'Hercules' and got a slew of results that were decidedly not this song, leaving me wondering aloud "What is this idiocy?"
Dude Aladdin, Hercules, and Tarzan have the best sound track out of the whole Disney franchise and surprise they are all male focused films (I love other Disney songs but these 3 have the most catchy ones for me)
The reason why i chose these 3 its because ALL the songs are never bring worthy, or boring to me Ima add moana to this list but take away the song shine but the rest has this vibe of fun songs
“ Just remember in the darkest hour Within your heart's the power For making you' A hero too So don't lose hope when you're forlorn Just keep your eyes upon the skies” Phil is a hero...
When the star scene comes and Phil cries, I get that feeling that I"ll cry too. Man I'm glad I got to be raised with these movies instead of the new Disney movies. You can never replace movies like these, and if you try to, you will fail.
Phil never asked to train a hero to be recognized for his greatness, he simply wanted to help a man so great that referring to him would only highlight how far that hero had come
Gonna shout it from the mountaintops A star is born It's a time for pulling out the stops A star is born Honey, hit us with a hallelu The kid came shining through Girl, sing the song Come blow your horn A star is born He's a hero who can please the crowd A star is born Come on ev'rybody shout out loud A star is born Just remember in the darkest hour Within your heart's the power For making you A hero too So don't lose hope when you're forlorn Just keep your eyes upon the skies Ev'ry night a star is Right in sight a star is Burning bringt a star is born Like a beacon in the cold dark night A star is born Told ya ev'rything would turn out right A star is born Just when ev'rything was all at sea The boy made history The bottom line He sure can shine His rising sign is Capricorn He knew "how to" He had a clue Telling you a star is born Here's a hero who can please the crowd A star is born Come on ev'rybody shout out loud A star is born Just remember in the darkest hour Within your heart's the power For making you A hero too So don't lose hope when you're forlorn Just keep your eyes upon the skies Ev'ry night a star is Right in sight a star is Burning bright a star is born
The fact that the guy didn’t say “That’s Hercules!” but rather “That’s Phil’s boy!” Was the moment Phil realized not just Herc’s but also his dream finally came true. Sure Hercules was always strong, but he wouldn’t have become the hero he is without Phil’s guidance.
"A life without Meg, even an immortal life, would be empty" *don't cry* "I wish to stay on earth with her, i finally know where i belong" *i said don't cry god damn it* "That's Phil's boy!" *FUCK THIS SHIT T_T*
“Just remember in the darkest hour Within your heart’s the power For making you A hero too So don’t lose hope when you’re forlorn Just keep your eyes Upon the sky”
The animation in this movie is incredible and so specific when it comes to disney as a whole. Even minor things like the swirls on the elbows make it seem more like Roman art rather than modern animation.
