I was so confused for the first minute bc they just sounded exactly like the original

Animating the Muses was the most fun I had during 20+ years at Disney. Changing them from the traditional Greek Muses to a gospel chorus girl group was the idea of brilliant Chicago native John Musker (director). The funny thing is they were originally considered the absolutely least important characters in the movie. If I remember there were not any plans to use them other than "Zero to Hero". Meg's song was a troubled production child then the director's decided to add the Muses. Anyway, there have been so many great versions of the Muses over the years. This is one of the most fun and original ever!

I just met Vaneese Thomas tonight, she’s the daughter of Rufus Thomas and she voice Clio one of the original muses in the 1997 animated Hercules film. I showed her this video. She absolutely loved it! Nothing but praises from her. She even said she’d share it with the other muses!

I can’t believe it’s already been 3 years since this masterpiece dropped 🙀

Muses were the best part of Hercules and no one could change my mind.

This is an A+ project simple because they included the often forgotten but amazing Hades song. Of course, there are so many other reasons to love this.

I am obsessed with high voices from men as much as I am low voices from women

This just solidifies that Hercules is the only live action I would pay hard cash to see

The fact that they did the choreography too makes this a literal masterpiece.

4:47 Can we just talk about how clear the switch from his chest voice to his falsetto was😀 I replayed this part so many times, especially when the synthesizer at 4:43 play this really nice undertone-turned-overtone that soars above the ensemble and the group’s voices, creating this pseudo-upper register, when, in fact, really the singers are so well in-tune the overtones just resonates without any dissonance.

This made me cry tears of joy. I have always thought the music in Hercules to be genuinely beautiful. This-THIS is how you do justice to the source material. I know I’m biased but this shit just hits so right in every way. The first transition to Gospel Truth II broke me because I FINALLY found a version that conveys the exact emotion that song makes me feel. This is a GOD DAMN masterpiece.
