it's tax free because there is no sales tax, in Oregon. and it's 50% off if you, a family member or friend works there. my best friend used to work there and that's actually where I got the shoes I'm wearing rn
fr they are nothing more than useless middlemen. Yeah, the shoe is fire... That's why the company who made it sells it already without the need for middlemen. They really need to start producing shoes or some shit cause all they do is contribute to inflated resell markets. Same shit with the rat bastards who resold PS5s and RTX 30 series cards.
@@shubham4845 yeah more money less brain that's why we can't solve Indian problem instead sell things which r ripoff of international brand for dirt cheap and make feel india satisfied (kinda like Chinese economical mindset)
As someone who has lived in Oregon their whole life, the first time I travelled I didn’t know there was a sales tax, so when I got ice cream at the Ben and Jerry’s factory in Vermont, I noted on the receipt “sales tax” so I googled it and found out that I’m lucky to be living in Oregon.
@@marcusstrinidad where did you read that? Texas has no state income tax and to my knowledge California has an additional like district tax or something on top of personal income tax. Also we have cool laws like mutual combat
Ima tell you all this now, the employee store actually has very little in “heat”. Just regular staples like Air Force, maybe a couple Jordan’s (not any rare ones). Usually employees get the best pairs set aside or are told when specific shoes will be coming in. It is 50% off for employees and 40% for everyone else. Being from Portland, the actual Nike Employee Store is actually underwhelming.
@@enriquemontoya1752 no but you do have to obtain a pass from either a Nike Employee or Nike themselves (through company sponsorships or events). You can sometimes buy physical passes from people who know people from Nike but they are always overpriced passes. Adidas employee store is a lot easier to get into compared to Nike
I have an in law who manages a Nike store in Oregon. She says her and her employees get free shoes all the time. On top of that they also get massive discounts. Employees aren’t allowed to sell the shoes, so they save them and consider them a 2nd retirement savings account. She has over 300 pairs. I’m lucky enough to get the family friend discount on the app which is minimum 40%.
@@timmyt1247 for real. The streets change names out of nowhere, you've Tualatin being part of 2 different counties...a personal favorite of mine is Northwest South Dakota street 😅
columbia sportswear (which i love!) employee store has a sign at check in that reads police, military, first responders, and veterans do not need an invitation. so i can just show my va card and go in any time i want. so i'm a columbia guy now.
You can also get into the Nike Employee store as a Veteran. Just need to call them to see what day of that month they are having military walk-ins. I do it Aaaaaaaallllllll the time!
As a lifelong Oregonian, sales tax is unnecessary and shifts the burden away from property owners and onto every single consumer, like an 8 year old buying a candy bar or a mother that needs formula. **** that.
That being said, the fact that we can't pump our own gas is asinine. It's like we needed something to keep people busy. "There's too many unemployed and not enough jobs." "What if we make it illegal to pump your own gas, then every gas station will have to hire a bunch of people for unskilled labor." "That... Is really smart."
@@c4seyboi Its different yes. You have to have a pass to get into the Employee store. They store is pretty dope. It has all of the latest drops. I was able to get a few color ways of the Kyrie 7’s and 4 low’s when they first came out. It’s not like outlet which will have older stuff. It’s similar to shopping in the app. But in a box store.
Like i know in usa living is a ton more expensive but shit, a sales assistant makes almost 1000$ a week? Sign me in rn, where i live 1200€ month is the average income
In case you didn’t know, Oregan and Iowa actually keep the prices low making it way affordable than most locations. They serve a good deal and hardly go out of stock.
I have an uncle who works at Nike any failed products or unreleased stuff he gets he sends to us still have an unreleased nike jacket so thats cool I guess
Cuz Nike products(and several others) are only worth 20% of their price in usability. They just get to utilize ppl's obsession with popularity, especially teens with older/wealthier parents.
Hey it’s not as big or anything but you should go to the Nike store on Eugene Oregon just a hour or two drive from Portland also Eugene is we’re Nike originally was founded
I’ve been there three times. It’s very hit and miss just like every Nike outlet int the world. They have a lot more sample clothing though. My prized possession from there is a “Money Manziel” t-shirt with mirrored gold printing. It’s so preposterous.
