I finally pulled the trigger with these mid july sales. Going from a i7-8700k and GTX 1080 to a 7950x3d and 7900xtx. Cant wait to play solitaire with all of this new power.

The only channel to mention the 5700X3D I caved in and bought 193$ total. Coming from an 3600 in ready to see the difference I want the 5800X3D but that price is steep and for the value of 5700X3D it a huge win! I broke my cooler bracket trying to install so trying to upgrade my cooler so I can actually use it🤣 but really nobody else mention the 5700X3D RU-vidrs think everybody just got big money and on top builds. That is not the case! Thanks for mentioning earned my sub for that!

Bought an AMD Sapphire RX 6650XT for $210, pretty much what I wanted at a price I could afford. I have to wait until August to get it, but that's the last piece for my PC.

it only makes sense to buy right now if you're looking at really low end parts. if you're looking for middle of the road stuff or higher end stuff, we're on the precipice of a new generation (ryzen 9000 drops at the end of the month and we should have intel's next gen stuff by q1) which means that the previous generation stuff is going to plummet in price as retailers try to get rid of it (say a 7800x3d for stupid cheap anyone?), and we're also expecting new nvidia gpus by the end of the year (just a few months away) as well... so honestly, I'd wait until the new parts drop and that'll give you the option of buying the new hotness or the previous gen performance parts for the lowest price possible.

Waiting for the 9800X3D reviews to drop to make my decision. Already have a 3080 10GB and a 5800X, so I'll upgrade when the performance increase is substantial enough.

My i5 11th gen and 3060ti still plays games at 1080p and 1440p with decent video settings and fps so gonna hold off till next years prime deals. The rest of 2024 is dry for AAA games except for Stalker 2 which im looking forward to other than that ill be lating back playing the waiting game.

$360 for 12gb 7700XT is pretty good TBH. I would be happy with 12600kf for $138. That's still a great CPU and you have an upgrade path once they sort out the 13th and 14th gen dramas. 12700k is probably a better deal at 189 though. 13700k is one of the CPU's with "dramas", though not as bad as the 13900 and 14900. 183 for 5700X3d is insane I wish it was that price here, and 7700X for that price is good too. But as you point out prices always go up before the sale. More importantly though, intel NEEDS to be selling it's stuff cheap. But more importantly they need to fix their issues to restore confidence. Right now you'd honestly be mad to buy anything more powerful than 13700k from Intel.

im probably going to wait for the new amd chips for the increased efficiency. my 7900x is great but my cooler is even better and it just volcanoes hot air into my room... truly a pain whenever i run somethign higher than 60fps v_V

If you can hold off till December, the deals will be even better because of new Nvidia and AMD GPU dropping soon. Also, they sell off all the stock for new year's new models and laptops. Prices will drop even more by then because of new GPU launches.

building your own is absolutely easy, don't rush it and do your research, it will pay off and you will be really proud of yourself. There are many big tech tubers who have tutorial on how to build your PC. jays2cents pauls hardware, hardware canuks Linus techtips, gamers nexus might have one. Try any of those.

The 5800X is a very good CPU overall, but it will bottleneck the 7900XT at 1080p. Get the 5800X3D (or 5700X3D) unless you plan on playing all your games at 1440p or higher.
