@@KylePancis totally! There's some straights on that road we're the Saab Jas fighter planes use it to land for practice. I always floor it when there's not so much traffic 😉ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2-2Xde54xz4.html
I've had my 2007 saab 9⁵ aero a little over a year and 30k miles. Great driving cars. You won't understand until you drive one. I get between 27 and 31mpg. I've gotten as high as 35.5. Plan to keep it as long as I can. Great video
Let me tell you one thing i have an acura ilx that i bought for 34k and it was well worth it. First of all it is extremely reliable and the seat are real leather called Milano leather they are not plastic so that comparison is completely not accurate. Ive been in a couple saabs and they are way more comfortable than saabs and the new tlx is way bigger than those saabs so they are not even comparable to the acura and that acura is a much better drive than those saabs especially with the reliability and the SH-AWD and that can get the rear end to slip out. Just because in your opinions you think saabs are the best doesnt mean Acuras suck. Acuras are amazing cars and if only you have driven one and gave an honest comparison and opinion you would take your words back trust me 100%. And that honda accord esp the 2.0t sport is way better to drive than a saab even though it may not be as comfortable its way faster.
Hahahaha love you passion! I do like Acura, Great car with amazong value. My aunt has the tlx..very comfortable. I was just having fun on why one should still own/bar a Saab 🤣
I understand all the 10 reasons, because I have 2 SAABs!!! 9-3 Cabrio (205hp) 2002 + 9-5 SW Aero 2007 and I love them!!! For life! I'm trying to get another one, a 900 turbo, my passion!
I own a Saab 2000 convertible 93 turbo 137000 mi . Can you send link to mechanic to fix some ssues it has near Anniston Al? Or a 9-5 /9-3 for sale near me? I had to drive out of state to buy one I have.
Hi, Am smiling indeed... I have a Saab93 1.8T. Recently have been having gearbox malfunction, limited performance, Traction and instability. Please your advise, will be highly appreciated
Gee whiz Kyle, you could've at least replaced the missing grille trim on the '04 for its big debut!?..😂 I love my '06 Aero Cabs interior but the two tone seats have terrible wear characteristics.
If you put the advantages into categories it would be clearer. You should look at it financially. Auto insurance, registration, initially cost and upkeep. Upkeep would be the concern. But if you like to work on cars and have a systematic approach to refurbishing the Saab, this car is a good choice. Someone who is not mechanically inclined would rather just make a payment Why not create a video about a proactive approach to Saab refurbish mentl rather than just waiting until something breaks. By now we know the weak areas. Just assume these are bad and fix them. This reduces the amount of time the car is down. After research I made a list and just started changing and repairing these items in addition to what was worn out. My 93 has been very reliable for three years now.It started as a salvage vehicle.
Well being a farmer sideburner myself as well as a Honda owner I can honestly say that I do agree with you on pretty much every point you made in the video except one thing that does stand out about Saabs unfortunately and that is the lack of parts availability. That can be kind of tricky in some cases if you’re not able to cross-reference it amongst other GM brand names.
This was a terrific video. Thanks so much for taking the time to produce. I own a 2008 9-5, Snow Silver Metallic. Since new has cost $5,300 in parts, labor, fluids, tires and preventative maintenance. Now just turned 130,000 on the odometer. I'm lucky enough to have found a former SAAB Master Tech in Rockland Country, NY, who works out of a home garage. His prices are more than fair...plus it takes him far less time to diagnose and repair. My gas mileage in heavy NYC stop & go is awful...11 mph, but that's three light cycles to get through a red light. Highway mileage is consistently 27 mpg, but over 30 on non-hilly highway trips. The (somewhat) major issues repaired have been the heater core, blower switch, A/C condensor, and a couple of throttle bodies, which are expensive. Eeuroparts charges over $600, but they can generally be found for $350. There's also Gold Wing, a huge used parts resource with quality tested parts at fair prices. In years of ownership, my 9-5 has never left me stranded. It's also an incredible snow car. Put winter tires on and it laughs at any AWD vehicle with all-season tires. I wish that it didn't take premium, but that's the cost of doing business with these awesome vehicles. I use my 6.8" phone for all nav and streaming...taking advantage of the CD slot and a magnetic mount. I have full Bluetooth through an Anker Roav Smartcharge F2 Pro FM Transmitter, which is a gamechanger. Kyle is absolutely spot-on about the quality of the leather post 2006. It's especially evident on the front drivers left side bolster. That said, a car upholstery shop charged me $75 to sew in a new panel. My heated seats are fantastic...hasn't skipped a beat since 2008. No cooled seats in my base configuration...nor did I want them. So it's been $5,300 since 2008, and that's with Mobil 1 0w40 full synthetic every 3,000-3,500 miles, and a quality filter...and transmission fluid changes every 20,000 miles. At $5,300, that comes to $224 per year in all parts, labor and preventative maintenance. One side note. I recently had to get a new heater core. I bought an ACM SAAB HVAC Heater Core 5045836 12757001 from eeuroparts for $58.95. When the part arrived, it said Nissens, the OEM SAAB heater core when sells for $135. And some of ACM's also say Valeo, another OEM SAAB part.
Got my first saab in 2015, an 05 Arc Vert. Since then...08, 09, 06, another 06, another 05, 89, 01...and plan on many more. Love these cars that were designed by car loving OCD Swedes, instead of bean counters. If saab had made a truck...I would own nothing else.
Kyle I owned a Saab 9000S turbo in 1986 to 1989 and 900S in 1999 to 2004. I missed these cars. Best car to drive ever better than even my Porsche Cayenne driving feel.
I have a Saab 9-3 convertible from 1998. Admittedly, I have spent a small fortune on it to bring it up to a great condition. When driving it I regularly get comments that I have a great looking car. Today even twice! I’m very hesitant to if I would get that while driving a newer car. On top of that it is seriously fast and have surprised more than one BMW and Audi driver...
Its a shame in the US the brand is going the wayside. Anything u find now will prolly be high miles. Theres obviously not a lot of qualified mechanics for Saabs.
I own a Saab 9³ sport sedan. Really drives nice but there are other cars that drives nice too. And when i compare mine Saab with a brandnew BMW i must admit that the BMW are way better tot drive. But i prefer my Saab because it's a Saab. It is like an AlfaRomeo, you don't know it when you don't own one.
Hi would you recommend me 93 2.0t manual (2008) or 95 1.9tid auto (2008)? I have a massive dilemma here. They both are vectors and pretty much for the same price and having the same mileage. The car would be for a daily drive within 40-50kms radius + longer holiday trips occasionally. I must admit that I like 93 body design more than 95 but then 95 is more spacious and probably more comfortable inside? Thanks
@@viliamgajdos5917 i live in the u.s. & unfortunately we didn’t get the tid over here but i would recommend the 9-5 just based off of the looks & they are more comfortable in my opinion as you said . either way , you can’t go wrong !
Hi Kyle, I'm with you all the way. I also have two 9-5s, a 2000- 157k and a 2008-46k in laser red. My favorite to drive is the 2000 - smooth as silk!!! see you in Albany.
I still drive a 9-3 Diesel TTiD. It's seriously quick, it's comfortable, I can get between 65-70 MPG on the motorway, and (for me anyway) it's still a nice looking modern car. I'm struggling to find something else that I like more than my Saab. I may go for a 9-5 NG next; it depends on what I can find. Parts over here in Scotland are not a problem and there are still lots of Saab specialist mechanics around to keep the brand going.
I need help! Do I keep a 2004 Saab with 176000 km on it? It needs about $3000 of work to get it to pass a safety but is apparently is only worth $500 to my mechanic that specializes in Saab’s. It was my dad’s car so there is some sentimental value and I put less than 10000 kms/yr on a vehicle. Thoughts?
You can get a nice Saab 95 for under 4K and put 1,000 into it, then for $250 you can get it tuned to 300hp/340tq. Still get good mpg and a huge smile factor.
Definitely smiling with you. Currently running a Hirsch tuned 2011 95ng T4, Maptun 2008 9-3 Aero in CA and have a low mileage (85000 mi) 2002 9-5 in NJ..May have to pay you a visit. Have had a 900ng, 9-3og and several 9-5og weeks. Enjoying your vids and SAAB fever.
Which one do you recommend for a daily drive most please? I got scared of 95ng potential difficulties although I occasionally blame myself for not taking it for a great price (white vector tid4 auto in very good condition for silly 6200 EUR). I always liked 93ng body shapes but then it is pretty small inside so would 95 2008 be a fair choice?
Worst engineered cars in the history of cars. Had the worst reliability of any major brand since the invention of the automobile and they are notoriously the least safe cars ever produced. It's a damn good thing that Slob went out of business and these lethal killing contraptions are no longer pushed onto the public. My dad bought one, and the only one ever and its engine blew up at just under 400 miles on the odometer and it incinerated. Slob didn't want to honor the warranty because they said none of their cars were ever designed to have an air conditioner and it put too much strain on the engines, even though they SOLD the optional AC system in the vehicles. Had to lawyer up on that one and no Slob was ever purchased in my family again thank heavens. If I had the money I would buy every remaining POS Slob plaguing the highways and crush them immediately to save our species.
