I wouldn't say Ronaldo improved! He simply benefited from being in a better goalscoring position. Nearly everything bar his weak foot was already at elite level. Heading shooting volleying and free kicks were sublime. Not like you can do overhead kicks from the edge of the box or when your the one putting the ball in there.
