On April 3, 2023, NASA announced that NASA astronauts Christina Koch, Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen will fly on the Artemis 2 mission in 2024. The mission is expected to last between eight and 10 days and will be the furthest in space that humans have traveled since the Apollo program. Full Story: www.space.com/...

Thanks NASA and the Artemis II astronauts: Christina Koch, Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Jeremy Hansen. I hope and believe this is just the beginning on an amazing future for all humanity.

The crew looks true solid with each other and i can not wait for the footage this flight will deliver us...these are great times to be alive with Artemis and SpaceX and be able to be so close to the action online. What times, we see the surface of Mars, we see rockets going to space and return back to earth in real-time and hopefully we see people on the moon soon again.....great times!

Interesting to see the re-start of Manned Spaceflight to the Moon as the Artemis II crew members were named... reminds us of the 1968 Apollo 8 mission. Exciting mission but naming it "" Mission to " Deep Space " "" was surely the wrong term here The edge of our Solar System isn't even Deep Space! The nearest Star at 4.2 light years isn't even Deep Space! 🤔

Actually Space X is one of the companies they are working with to develop the landing module for the Artemis missions. There's a few other agencies involved as well I think. But since Artemis II isn't for landing yet they won't be talking about that much until the next one. But yes, they are collaborating. NASA has also already flown a bunch of collaborative ISS missions with Space X.

NASA should be spending its $$ on nuclear engines for interplanetary travel and platforms that orbit the moon and Mars. The platforms and license to build the engines should be free for US and allied companies. Private ventures should be providing the spacecraft and explorers. The $$ NASA spent on the SLS, which is lipstick on 1960s tech, should have gone into the interplanetary nuclear engine. ... and can anyone describe any value in Artemis's orbit past the moon? NOTE: Good for the astronauts, I wish I were going along with them. My beef is with NASA. NASA building manned rockets is like the FAA building its own airliners.
