i agree 100%. he never knew how to convey his emotions in a healthy way because he thought he’d be seen as weak, and his inferiority complex bred a superiority complex, tho it’s only a facade, it’s one that’s very toxic and hard to control. he’s learned to tame it after his 1v1 fight with deku, but it’s still there. and back in middle school, it was ripe, as was his need to feel better than everyone else. he even confessed that he did what he did to look like he was the superior one to everyone else because he didn’t wanna seem weak, admittedly like deku was. however, that outlook is in the pov of his superiority complex. his real reason for taking everything out on deku was because even tho deku was quirkless and weaker than him, he felt like deku was MILES ahead of him. that made him even more aggressive, not just towards deku, but towards everyone else. all this time he claims he hates deku, but really, deku was the person he was focused on the most throughout all of his years. and i’m so glad that hori delve into bakugo’s personality and have an explanation finally to why he treated people horribly and lashed out at people. you can tell when he’s really angry and when he’s just being loud and obnoxious and tsundere-esque as a response to others, a habit of trying to look and seem superior to everyone else.

If you wanna talk bout character who whave been through a lot, Izukus first time he got in a near death experiance was when he was still quirkless, and after he was save he was told by his idol that he couldent become a here without a quirk, and PROCEEDED to leave HIM on a ROOF. Deku went through years of bullying and only got treated decently when he got his quirk. He has lyiterly almost died at camp, USJ, the MALL and in the recent chapters of the manga. He has also Ben through so much trauma and still has managed to smile through it all. He was told to KILL HIMSELF BY BAKUGO, along with HIS Father leaving HIM And HIS mother! Reasons like this are what makes me pissed when people say bakuhoe has been through more that Deku. Sorry if I’m being rude but this is just my opinion

Izuku had his mom since the beggining. Almost ALL the teachers support him. Almost All the students like him. But again, bakugou's trauma is not dealed with as much as it should. Yes, both of them been trough hell and back, but the difference is that bakugou bottled everything up. As someone who has a really hard time expressing myself, sometimes i can come off as very very rude, but not actually mean it. And can we talk about how fucked up was that whole thing in the sports festival where bakugou was chained up like a fucking dog? Like, i know it was made for a comedic relief but it was not even funny? It could cause EXTREME PTSD EPISODES in someone who was attacked by a villain, especially. And yeah, izuku was quirkless and all might did say that, but he was saved pretty quickly and all might helped him after he realised what he said was wrong. But bakugou was under the sludge villain attack for more than minutes, and the heroes/ people could do nothing but watch. He, a person that does not know how to deal with his emotions and other people, be in his most vulnerable state and people just watching? Can you imagine how much damage that causes? My cousin is majoring in psychology and we watch anime together. One day, we were just chatting and she literally said, and i quote : " i actually dont know how he hasn't gone trough pisodes of ptsd or panick attacks, 'cause the boy has some serious issues and not really many people seem to care". And some of of clearly didn't grow up in a house where your family/parents wee contantly saing shit like bakugou's mom. And the worts is that they're not even bad or evil, they just dony know how to deal with stuff. And like, th more you hear something, the more you become that. So yeah, Deku has been trough hell and back maaany times, but you cannot tell me bakugou also didin't , 'cause that would be a fucking lie. People are so quick to say shit like that about him without even analyzing the situation. Yeah, telling deku to jump was fucked up, but he's actually trying to change, not to talk about all the traumatic shit he's also been through. Sorry if my english was bad or if i i'm being rude, but you really cant compare both of their situations and you cant really said that this boy dindnt also went through hell and back.

Ngl I think this is why Bakugo is such a loved character now. At first he seemed like a basic bully archetype. But now he’s evolved past that to become so much more.

Okay, I get what people are saying about Bakugou needing more sympathy but some of the key points in these passages are wrong in some way so I am going to talk about some of them. (also please edit these because a lot of words are completely misspelled and my ocd is kicking in.) So I am going to start with Midoriya's key points because honestly, I love how much he's grown in the show and i'd like to point out where he still is learning. One of these passages said Midoriya has had more support from his parental figures and to me that is entirely wrong. Midoriya's mother was not one of the supporting figures in his life before he got his quirk, and it shows in every seen she was shown in including the one where Midoriya says, and I quote, "Mom, that wasn't what I needed to hear." His father is not in the picture for now, and we know that he didn't leave because the creator told us that his father worked overseas and would be in the story later, meaning he probably wasn't a influential parent to Midoriya in any way. All Might, even though shown in the anime that he is a leading character to Midoriya, still told him he couldn't be a quirkless hero because of his own shortcomings and left him on a roof (which obviously is highly unsafe). Then he went so far as to ask Midoriya if he wanted All Might's quirk, and that's where we get to the biggest part of pre-quirk Midoriya that rubs me the wrong way. When Midoriya was doubting All for One, he was making some good points about the illogicality the quirk has as a whole and how the public has never before seen anything like it. (I would doubt too if I was quirkless in that universe.) All Might calls Midoriya's analytical skills "nonsense" which is another tribute to All Might not understanding how he fails (as in he doesn't think things though. Honestly I wish we could see more of quirkless Midoriya because I think without All Might's guidance he would've been way more careful with his quirk.) Midoriya has a mentality we get to see onscreen called "Imposter Syndrome" or the feeling that your own accomplishments weren't yours and you shouldn't get credit for it. He shies away and even denies his own winnings and it has not gotten any better since the beggining of the show. Because I fear there may be a word limit I'll go to Bakugou. Bakugou for one shoud not have told Midoriya to kill himself. He may be learning, but he hasn't outright apologised so keep that in mind as you read. Bakugou most definately is being abused at home even if he doesn't know it. His mother was not afraid to hit him on his head even when there was company but also any sane person would calm down a little in front of guests so it could be worse than that (considering we don't really get to see his home life.) He also normally has panic attacks, one of which we've seen after his first fight with Midoriya. He doesn't comprehend that he, even though he is still somewhat in the wrong, is not the one to blame. Imagine the old teachers at Aldera and other students telling Bakugou to hurt Midoriya, and he gets praised for it. He will want more praise going in the future and because as a kid we think "adults know everything because they're older than us" he keeps doing it. Going into high school he's going to get psychological damage from his teachers openly showing him dissapointment for quirk use and discrimination. It's going to leave damage. On the other hand, Midoriya has damage so even if teachers are proud of him he doesn't think they care because he's used to others not caring about him. Getting praised is new for him and not getting praised is new for Bakugou, so seeing Midoriya getting praise has him riled up. This is basically where they're at in the show so this is what I know, but Bakugou still needs a lot of help before I can accept his redemption properly. I feel like where he is right now still only trusting Kirishima he still has a lot to go.
