The reason why cas took so long to say "I love you" is because Dean friendzoned him by calling him his best friend and his brother

I cried gallons at this scene. And the blood hand print on Dean's shoulder at the very end it like salt on the wound. The first time we ever meet Cas he gave dean a hand mark, and the last time he exits with that. It's not like I needed my heart anyways.

I didn’t necessarily ship destiel, but after 15x18, i could totally see how beautiful their relationship was and why so many people shipped them. I cried so hard during that scene and recently I’ve just started crying for no reason whatsoever because it was that powerful

Season 15 Episode 19 reveals Dean's feelings for Cass were romantic too. "The devil doesn't come to you with horns and pointy tail but as everything that you've ever wished for." Lucifer has always portrayed himself as your heart's desire to fool you. This is his go to move and it has been consistent in the show. He pretends to be your recently deceased romantic interest EVERY time, all throughout the show. He portrayed himself as Jess to fool Sam, he portrayed himself as Vince's girlfriend to fool Vince, he portrayed himself as Nick's wife to fool Nick and then he portrayed himself as Cass to fool Dean..Cass is Dean's heart's desire.❤😭

Never thought I'd say this, but I was never a shipper of Destiel, but after 15x18. It was so beautiful and the fandom is confirmed true, it is truly canon, and it was so damn beautiful made me cry. I honestly kind've wanted Dean to say I love you too Cas, but that was perfect. Damn well made me cry, ;) perfect way for Castiel to exit the show if you ask me. Destiel. Rest In Peace Castiel. Farewell old friend.

SPOILERS i had to play back the scene when Cas straight up said I Love You because i was so in shocked at what i was watching like i couldn't believe what i'd been hoping and waiting for for 11 seasons became reality. i never thought Cas would be the one to confess for some reason but it makes total sense. the scene is beautiful, but also lol i guess i'll go cry forever thanks Supernatural

It’s so sad, cas loves dean so much and because of all of his trauma dean never let himself confront the fact that he’s in love with cas and now it’s too late for them, if one of them would’ve said something sooner who knows what could’ve been.

I think it was a great nod to the Destiel fans without trying to change Dean's character and his past to serve that. We all knew they wouldn't be a "couple," obviously. But this was sweet. Very touching.

In the season 14 ep 14, when Cass and Jack are talking about the ''snake and the chicken'' story, Cass told him that one of the meanings it's about ''being willing to give the thing that you love in order to kill the thing that your hate'', and seing the last chapter, this quote makes a lot of sense considering he's willing to give the thing that he loves (his happiness, being with the guys and all, maybe if Destiel is indeed real, reach the heart of Dean) in order to kill Billie, cause she was representing a threat for them.
