Congrats man. Followed you for a while now. I made the switch from a 7.5 R to a MK3 TTRS. Once you start modifying yours, you’ll completely forget about the R in all the right ways. The sound alone makes it 1000x better! Ive had mine for almost 2 years now running Stage 2 Uniflex and it’s a riot! Looking forward to all your future vids
My guy, you made the right choice. That screaming 5pot is AMAZING! Though if you do plan on modding/tuning it. Be careful with the DAZA. They're known to be a bit fragile. But man, I'm HIGH KEY jealous of this.... lol
I too went from a golf r to an rs3. got it back in july last year. the power difference at stage 2 e85 is crazy. I think im gonna go full from in about a year or so. I dont ever plan on selling it, even though i did prefer the hatch. congrats on the upgrade!
Congrats, on the s3. Sad to see the golf r. I found your channel after I bought mine about a month after yours. Same color and same year. So you convinced me on a couple mods like the remus exhaust and intakes. But good looking forward on the new car.
You are going to hsve sink some cash into this car. I walked away from this exact same car and model year last summer. Loved the car TBH. Handled so well around corners and what I did notice was the car came with extra paint protection which was good. It was fast yes but while I loved the exterior it disappointed me with its performance stock. I felt it was a lot more laggy than my stage 2 R. It didn't launch as fast as my R but I know Audi addressed that on the curent RS3 gen. One thing I did notice was that the RS3 captured a lot wind when on the freeway but that was only from a 1 hour test drive so could have been a one-off. Overall as soon you drop even a stag 1 tune this car will wake up.

Oh and probably wasn't ready to part with the R last year cause I had spent 7K on it and wanted to enjoy the fruits of my passion. Buy if I decide to sell her she'll be sold as is tuned. Most installs I can't do myself and don't have the time so whomever buys this car is getting a pocket rocket!! Lol
Looks wise the MK8 is meh. But the 8Y RS3 looks amazing. Also, the 8R/8Y have the new Magna diff. Which is LEAPS above the garbage Haldex the older models had. Both the 8R/8Y will run laps around their older counterparts with ease.

I had a GTI before and was convinced I'd always have a hatch of some sort but after owning an S3 for a few months now, I'm really loving the sedan look and compared to the VW counterparts its just feels like a more elevated experience. Only thing I regret is not going for the RS3 but it wasn't in my budget range. I'm also curious what you go with suspension wise since I've been thinking of throwing springs on my car but I'm terrified it'll make driving around the Boston area terrible.

Nice car... but why sedan after having hatches for so long? Again, nice car, congrats, for sure. Having said that, in my opinion GTI's and R's are so much nicer looking. Then again, I am not a sedan guy, regardless of the make/model, and I'm a total GTI/R enthusiast. I think you're going to miss your R, but then again, maybe not! 😛 Seriously, not trying to rain on your parade or your excitement. I am such a GTI/R fanboy I personally would not have done the switch, but you being happy with your choice is all that matters... it is YOUR CHOICE, after all. And seriously, nice car! I'm just such an "Anti-sedan guy"... It's the only reason I said anything on the negative side to begin with. It's not the new car... it's the style of car as my reason for a bit of disappointment.
