I live here in St Louis. There are basically no dine in good BBQ spots! The way to tell off the top if it’s white or black owned, is if there are rib tips on the menu. Burnt ends=white, rib tips=black. Best BBQ here is a drive thru called St Louis BBQ on the corner of Goodfellow and Jennings Station Rd, followed by a BBQ food truck called Mi Hungry on North Kingshighway. IMO
@@ghty181 yes, mi hungry has a restaurant on the Rock Rd north of 170. It doesn’t taste like the one on Kingshighway though. It also has soul food plates that are average at best. Sugarfire is just ok imo. I feel like they are comparable to Bandanas. The excellent Black owned BBQ spots in St Louis are almost all gone now.
@@anthonybrooks1559 sweet potato pie, collard greens with hog maul, Mac n cheese, hot water cornbread, pig ears, and snouts are soul food. They are Jamaican owned and staffed with St. Louisans as well. They sell soul food plates and some jerk items. It’s not just Jamaican cuisine.
I agree. Absolutely beautiful inside. It ooks like an upper scale place... but what good is the obience if the food is trash? Not at those cost. They gotta get a better chef 😂😂😂

I can believe that on those toasted raviolis they’re not like they used to be when they first came out in St. Louis but you’re right we are staple for toasted raviolis
On a different house I’m not a great big fan really on a lot of dipping sauces unless it’s spicy, but this ranch I’m not a fan of ranch sauces mayonnaise sauces that’s what I call him. I don’t really care for mayonnaise. I don’t like it I’m just saying.🙂lol🤦🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️ not the worst hush puppies you ever had in your life now that’s bad Yep has puppies ain’t like they used to be either people are just not fixing food different. They stick into the recipe original recipe.

Salt and smoke is a tourist trap. The BBQ is awful. You gotta go to the hood for real bbq. Their rubs are way too salty. They market and promote well but that’s about it…🤷🏾♂️

I'm not a fan of people consuming content that makes them upset. Like, how would you knowingly watch a video that triggers you and then blame someone else? You deserve it. lol
He always says at the end of the video to try it for yourself. Obviously there are people that like the restaurant because it was recommended to him. Places aren’t going to close from one review. Those that like it will continue to go.
