As a native New Yorker and have worked in fashion for nearly 2 decades .. her dad was her first outlet and there’s your answer. Not just anyone no matter how hard you work or how “determined” you are do all these doors open. So she had connections and that’s what this entire industry is.
I’m not even in the fashion industry but those 5 points of advice were what I needed! And why did I cry during this segment?! She’s so good! Write a book girl! Lol
I like how she provided her personal timeline. I think this made her easy to relate too and actually provide inspiration and motivation to continue in whatever you are doing rather than the glamorized, sugar coated stories other people do!!!
Maeve, not only is your channel just positive vibes but you actually give us life advice! Also agree with another comment, I think you need to write a book OR do a picture book of style!! I would 100% buy the crap out of your best styling gigs and you explaining them.
the best part of maeve is how she's so herself. sitting in the chair in sweats and nails all done up. the perfect blend of her girly and boy vibe style. love you maeve
I"m so excited for this channel!! It's just as good as that Rachel Zoe show back in the day. l love seeing successful, talented people show behind the scenes of what they do. Thank you for taking us along!! Peace and Love.
Tbh I never knew about you until I came across your RU-vid and you made me realise how much effort and talent you have for being a fashion styler it’s crazy how something you have no idea about is actually a huge process for all these celebrities
it’s so interesting, everytime i watch fashion shows about how people in fashion got started, the first 5 minutes of their story they speak about opportunities i never had access to. i’m literally working so hard to break into that industry & it just seems counterproductive because if you don’t have certain things u can’t get certain places :/
This is one of the most inspiring videos 'ive ever seen. even if I don't know you in RL you give me an incredible energy, your vibes are IMMACULATE! I'm glad I found you out this year, i didn't knew but you ARE the kind of person I needed in my life, even if only as role model. Thank you, for real.
Please do more of these videos on styling advice. This video literally just encouraged me to keep going in my styling career. Like I was going to give up but this reminded me to keep going
I’m in the industry way far from fashion but your advices hit me so hard and those 5 things you said are actually what people who are on top in their area always address to other people. thank you for inspring me:)
I love the way you talk and the energy you carry. I just feel what you say and show and reflect!!!!!!! Your advice is so valuable, literally and figuratively. Thank you sooo much for being you!!! Love, all the way from Belgium
I personally am not interested in the fashion industry but the music industry and just two hours ago I received two denys from internships I was really excited about. Although my interests are in music this video gave me the motivation and you truly have such and inspiring story and I just wanted to thank you for sharing. Even though those opportunities fell through I’m going to keep pushing because I am so determined to make it.
Maeve, I am thankful you have this channel and share your experience. I am a stylist living in a small country Mongolia and here it is just starting out and days when I feel like giving up I rewatch your videos over and over again, inspiring me so much. Also, this industry is busy and hectic and thank u for reminding us to always be kind and humble to everyone
I found you through Megan Fox. The Green (Versace?) Sweater Dress you put her in was transformative! I dream of being a stylist! I do small jobs for friends and acquaintances. But I experiment with my own style so much. I am a Makeup Artist and I managed a Clothing Store and I am an Artist particularly making Jewelry. Life is preparing for this!
I used to be in the fashion arena 2 decades ago. I am now in law and the same principles apply in law. I believe as some of the other comments say you should write a book. Very inspiring.
First... I LOVE YOU and admire you so much! I start 4 years ago in Mexico City and as you said you have to be very passionate about what you are doing. Listening to you is really recharging, thanks for sharing your journey
"LAEATHER, LACE, SEQUINS, AND CRYSTAL'S ARE LIKE MY DREAM COME TRUE.." I LOOOVE HER. SHE IS SO DRIVEN AND INTELLIGENT. THAT IS WHY SHE MADE IT. #NETWORKING #PIVOT #MAKEMOVES #BETHEGOAT
Love this! Please keep doing video’s, its so interesting! Since I was a kid I used to be drawing fashion looks & my elderly Nan used to think I would be a fashion Designer or Stylist. I ended up in Management. But I LOVE keeping up with fashion. I’m unfortunately not well so can’t go out etc but I still enjoy seeing all the MET gala looks and everything fashion. Even though I went into a completely different career I still think the same principles apply to it in the advice you were giving, so its useful for so many careers. Love your Style and its so cool to hear how you started out. It was the same for me just in a different career in terms of being willing to do anything, not letting knock backs get you down, persevere and you will get your break. Mine came like kinda fate in a 2 week window of time I managed to show what I could do and it got my foot in the door and from there hard work took me to success! I am glad I managed to achieve what I did before I became ill. I do wonder what would of happened had I gone down the fashion route so this video was very cool for me. Keep giving us more Style Queen!!👏🏼💃🏼👑❤️
Can you do a video about how you built relationships with brands to select clothes for clients if you’re going to the brand directly and not to a department store?
That was such terrific advice! I worked in hair and makeup for some shoots for different companies and her opinion and advice on coping with such environments is just golden!!✨✨✨✨
This was meant to be! Ineeded this Inso! Great content; can't wait to hear about dates for class! I'm moving to LA soon!!!! I need to style! Keep shining BRIGHT, the world needs your light! xo
Starting school in Paris in January to aspire to be a stylist can’t wait for the next chapter of my life! This video is so inspiring and in perfect time for my huge move!

This is such an amazing an real view of how you built an incredible career! I love your story so much. Lots of hard work and that translates to any profession
Yes it’s about hard work, dedication and talent. But a huge part is WHO YOU KNOW. So just remember that when doors don’t open the same way. Don’t give up on them dreams
wow. SImply wow. I love your style and your work..but your story just blew my mind! Thankyou! Thankyou for the motivation.. I was moments away from giving up on my dream to be a part of this industry.. not anymore
Please please please do affordable fashion hauls that are inspired by some of the people you style! I could Never afford the clothes you put these celebrities in. Lol 😂 I am sure some affordable brands would work with you and give you a percentage. I would legit buy everything you put together if it was affordable.
I adore your channel, what I have seen thus far 😊 💜 ✨ I am certain and psychic and calling it now, your channel is going to blow up 🤩 👏🏻 ✨ 💖 ✨ Loving the content 😃
Okay real question: As you started to become more successful how did you know your rate to charge your clients and when to raise them? Love your channel!
I was surprised to see that you have channel when randomly this video pop up on my recommendations . I'm happy lol~ I'm a 15 year old who just luv fashion and style. And wanna be stylist. Those 5 points of advice was so much . Tnk you Maeve . Lots of ♥️........

MAKE CONNECTIONS AND NETWORK! The fashion community is smaller than you may think. I started taking a couple online courses at parsons and then recently fell into an internship with a luxury bag company, who recently did a collaboration with a popular influencer. You need to get your name out there, no matter how much school you have it won’t matter if you don’t network! 🖤
