Napoleon Dynamite remains one of the indie darlings of the 2000s. It came out of nowhere in 2004 to become the surprise hit of the year, and it even made its lead actor Jon Heder into an instant comedic star.
The movie was made with a budget of just $400,000, but it raked in a cool $46 million. That kind of profit is a triumph for any indie movie, and the film has remained a favorite of many in the years since.
How much of that profit did its lead actor Jon Heder see? Here’s how much money Jon Heder made for Napoleon Dynamite.

_Where's uncle Rico?!?_ I love _Napoleon Dynamite_ the movie but I feel like it was a one-off kinda thing that just struck a perfect cord at the right moment. It was perfect, encapsulated. I really didn't want to see any more because they just could never quite capture the magic again. Some things are better just left alone.

The weirdest and funniest movie ever. My husband wanted to watch it, and it was such a strange production we got hooked on it. It seemed to start out on the slow side.. Kept watching just to see what would happen next. It just got funnier. Jon was amazing and the way they had John Gries was super cool. The 80's? style hair was just perfect. I had a crush on him because he reminded me of my husband's grandiose attitude he had sometimes. Jon in the Benchwarmers was just hilarious!! Never laughed so hard! Great video!
