Given that with the obviously broken purified gem system no one will stay in a lobby surely with less than 10 in it for mewtwo, I’m almost positive I won’t be able to get another shadow mewtwo this weekend
@@osc-omb47896 I find it odd that you'd insinuate there's no reason to complain about a mechanic that severely hinders the ability of many people to play the game, simply because said mechanic was at one point 'the norm.' Just because something has always been done a certain way does not mean it should continue to be done that way, and remote raiding is a valid instance of this philosophy. To shoot down an argument for remote raiding on the basis of returning to what raids were like before is to shoot down any other potential changes/improvements. Should Niantic revert all other raiding changes? i.e., should raid passes be consumed as soon as you enter the lobby instead of remaining in your inventory until the fight begins? Should the lobby count and time not be viewable unless you're a player in the lobby? Absolutely absurd. I get it's just a game, and I've even spent significantly less time on it in recent months, but why assert that anything shouldn't be improved, in general?
Agreed! Niantic's continued failure is their lack of communication and transparency. Half the time when new features roll out I have no idea how they function based solely off the in game news, so I tend to rely on your insight to help me navigate through the confusion 😅
Dude it’s a literal children’s game. Nothing confusing to it and the the few things you don’t immediately fully understand; you can pick up on in just a few moments. I understand people being upset by Niantic but so many of you are just looking for any tiny reason to complain lmao
@Pigbody Nick has been playing this game as long as I have (day 1), and yes the "concept" is easy, but the execution is hardly ever as advertised. They also dont effectively communicate with the community. That was my whole point.
It’s got a lot of convoluted processes and things that I don’t have time to run around and do. But the parts of the game I can still play are fun at least.
@Cesar Ivan I said nothing about passes? He was trying to use the new shard feature and it wasn't working, the in game news did not give specific instructions on what to expect. That was what I was referring to
So a warning for most players, the tier 3 raids are very difficult to solo without things like the weather boost or multiple crystals. I am a level 44 player, with what I would say has above average counters. Out of the three stars, I've only been able to solo quilava without crystals in neutral weather. Overall I think Niatic should have actually buffed purified pokemon for these raids to allow for boosted damage as a way to make them more worth having instead of just being 40% cheaper then a shadow pokemon
Its just sad that Niantic never listen to the people who play in a small town where nobody plays anymore and you cant do raids without people from remote raids
Not just in small towns. I live in a city and even though the arenas are frequently being fought, i havent done a 5 Star raid in Ages because its unlikely that 4-5 people show up on a random arena on a random time
@@paulhunt8073 when a majority of the player base can’t play the game due to things outside of their control then the games design is flawed and from a business perspective it doesn’t make sense to not cater to a majority as that’s who they’re marketing to.
@@paulhunt8073They literally helped create this kinda of player base over the past 2 years and are now just trying to throw it away. Doesn't make any sense. People like to remote raid. People but passes and Niantic makes money. They apperantly don't care for money.
3:57 Makes sense... I read somewhere that the inspiration of bringing shadow Pokémon into GO was because of Colosseum; they thought "Hey... We can use this in Pokémon GO! 🤔"
I remember watching you back when this game was fresh during 2016. Been playing a lot more lately as im curesntly in Florida for the summer and my job has me walking everywhere. I appreciate that you still have a passion for the game, and i will be happy to learn this game's added mechanics with you. Thanks, Trainer Tips.
So they're forcing you to do in person raids (pretty much) if you wanna raid/raid a lot, and for these battles, they're forcing you to have LOTS of people to raid with. Thanks for force feeding your vision on to us Niantic. This will not go well as it is set up now, in my opinion. 😡
@@johnbowen3767 I'm sorry, but what a stupid comment by you. Just give up? I'd rather have some sense and fight about me than be ... whatever you are. But you're not the main villain here, Niantic's stupid direction and unwillingness to change is.
“For science” 😅 the heavy metal “enraged” music is too funny 😆 I don’t have a POGO community and getting out for in person raids is hard because I have chronic health issues, So this week is going to be rough 😂 I’m going to stack as many gems as I can and maybe clear a 3 star. My heart breaks over mewtwo though 💔😖
Wasted 2 raid passes trying to solo tier 3 shadows, when I use my gems nothing happens and they're still in my inventory after the raid. I don't think it's a mechanic I think they are glitchy AF, maybe due to all the new animations. I'm expecting lots of angry people come Sunday evening.
My sis and I keep missing out on the legendary raids (shadow or not) because between being ostracized from PoGo communities (apparently the local groups here are not friendly at all) and the rising cost of living + the remote raid passes being stupid expensive to get... It really sucks.
Yesterday I tried a 3 star, but the gems weren't working as intended. Did a 3 star today and was able to successfully use multiple gems - and the raids allow a maximum of 5 gems per use
@@bananabishop I tried soloing it with level 40 counters. It dropped below 50% fast enough before the need for gems. The gems worked the second day, but not the first day.
@@loneliestpotato1535I played a 3star raid today with 2 accounts and used a total of 4 gems but they didn't do anything like wtf I wasn't able to deal any damage after I made 2/3 damage
I’m confused because Niantic’s “communication” about these raids specifically mentioned that gems from multiple players would stack, but you guys couldn’t even use one each at the same time. So *as always* either their communication has an error or the raids aren’t working properly/as intended. I’m so damn tired of Niantic’s lack of testing, proofreading, whatever minimal level of effort is needed to get one event and the associated communications right on the first damn try. They have ZERO respect for their players.
You know. It's probably a lot harder then we think. Just imagine having to basically swim through piles and piles of cash to even get to your work station let alone be able to see the monitor or find the keyboard and mouse. It's too bad pokemon didn't have a competitor that's even close to their success so the boycott would have actually been successful like the AB boycott has been. I am actually amazed at how well organized and executed that boycott is going. Whenever someone says the gun nut, ma freedom people could never take on the US military this makes me think of probably exactly what the British though before the revolutionary war happened and they were taken down by regular people using unorthodox tactics.
If you use a gem you gotta stop attacking and wait until the animation goes through. If you attack while the animation is going on, the gem gets cancelled and refunded.
People I was with today figured out you have to keep gemming the mon till the shield drops then wreck it. Gems are glitchy got to watch if it comes back then try use it again. To use the gem pretty much got to stop attacking while gem hits.
Niantic dropped the ball with the crackdown on remote raid passes. Hardly anyone plays this game anymore. Remote raids were an easy way for them to make money, and they allowed for dedicated players to experience the content without sitting at a gym for 2 hours hoping that anybody showed up 😢
It's the best way to get people out again. Discord/Facebook/Whatsapp groups have always been the best way to raid, long before remote ones. It made sense during covid to remote raid, but not now. The whole point of the game was to get out walking, meeting people and making new friends, but people think it's the end of the game to try and get back to that. The game will survive regardless.
yo Nick, just wanted to say thanks. i’ve been watching you from (almost) the beginning. you inspire me to live better. it’s hard to play as much now as i became a dad in August, hopefully my little dude likes mons as much as his dad 😂 hope all is well 👏🏻 keep it up!
Honestly I love shadow raids but I probably won’t do shadow mewtwo raids because most people won’t be playing Pokémon go so thanks Niantic I’m screwed. So I guess I’ll only do tier one shadow raids and maybe one tier three raid. Also I’ll be doing more rocket grunts and leaders. That is it for me. Love the vid bro.
I wish they'd add a LV mechanic, even if it was just the abilities to battle wild Pokémon in exchange for candy for your Pokémon. Like the same as walk 15k for candy, but instead earn 15 battle points. Add battle challenges and rewards extra fun stuff.
I hope you get to do at least one shadow mewtwo raid where you are Nick! I will be ENRAGED for you if Niantic made it impossible to do it even with 5 person
It worked. Today I used the campfire app thing and it worked a bunch of people got together and by the end of the day there were a bunch of us driving around, they wanted people to go out and talk and it worked
Speaking of "in person" (i.e. the old original raid) passes, I remember ditching loads a few years ago where I wasn't able to use them and to clear my bag space out. Wish I'd kept them now :/ I have done a couple of these raids today, and the best was a 3 star raid with 3 other people. Didn't need to use the purification stone so still have several of those for the 5 star raids
I feel vindicated. My pokemon just got annihilated when I tried to solo a 3 star shadow raid. I tried it once without a gem and once with the gem, the gem did nothing. Both times I was just a teeny tiny sliver of the health bar away from winning before it timed out.
I need more Mewtwo. When I caught my first one, I thought "I could live with only catching this one" but it's CP is on a lucky number of mine and I don't wanna change that. 🤣 idk how I'm gonna manage it, but Imma try and be ready for this weekend.
I went out and found gyms with people near by to raid with. I didn't get to actually meet anyone because I think most people were in cars. The raids were so far apart that no one was walking from one to the next (I was on foot, but walked home between each one). The event really felt like it was tuned for people in cars not people on foot. I managed to get to 3 raids, and lost 2 of them when people in the group got booted from the raid leaving the rest of us unable to finish it in time. Remote raid passes went a long way towards mitigating the errors that plague raids. With enough people in the raid each person is only seriously affected by errors in their own game, and they can reach out to support for a refund, and probably find another raid to use the replacement pass on. Without the support of additional remote players small groups of local players are badly affected if anyone in the group gets kicked from the raid due to errors.
Totally lost to quilava. Absolute monster. Thought I was gonna cake walk it but then it became enraged and it basically stopped taking damage. Gems did nothing. Bunch of bologna
You need more than one player to calm it down. 8 gems are needed and you can only use 5 yourself, so at least two players need to work together. Either you have Pokemon above level 40 to deal enough damage without gems, or need two players to use 8 total gems. Only one is not going to be enough, it reduces the bonus a little with each one, but until 8 they won't help much.
Atm the shadow mewtwo raid is going on here in jp. i live in a outskirt and we are getting 2 lobby per raid at the opening of it. Pogo still going strong here in jp :o
Watched #Omnisek & the NYC #Omnisqwad run these yesterday & they filled up soooo fast. I wish we had that energy in our lil town of 1200 even though our local raid group has 100+ members no one gets time to meet up like they do in the large cities. The idea of driving an hour or more just for the CHANCE at doing a raid is absolutely unfair when so many have an unfair advantage of being in an accessible area like LA or NYC.
I’ve noticed that whenever you’re spamming attacks and trying to use the purified gem it doesn’t like to use it and puts it back into your inventory. For what I’m talking about 7:14
For Purified Gems. What I have seen, if enough are used they “Subdue” the pokemon which breaks the “Enraged” effect. Now how this is determined I’m not quite sure. It might be X gems or it might be each gem has X chance. But gems are only used once every cooldown cycle, seems like you can use one per second during the fight, if another is used the same time then everyone after the 1st is returned. You can only take 5 gems into the battle even if you have 10. Once subdued it is a normal shadow Pokémon once again. Maybe someone else can do better research to find out the exact mechanics of it, but after quite a few Mewtwo raids this is what I have learned.
i got super lucky cause I live in Oregon and where I live nobody plays but my school had a field trio to Boston and NYC and i was in New York on the last day and i was able to catch 2 Shadow mewtwo i was very grateful and super stoked about that
It worked here in Denver we had groups of 8-16 for each raid we did 12 Mewtwo I got a shundo at the end of the day there were a bunch of us using the campfire app and driving around together
It’s easy if you know how. At 65% the Gem appears in the left corner. Stop using charge attacks and use so many Gems till they disappear in the left corner. Some say it take 5, some 8… BUT after this, it looses the complete buff.. and you get the message … „Pokemon„ is subdued. So finally… wait till 65%… if gems appear, use it on cool-down and don’t use Charge attacks(maybe no fast moves too) if there are 3-4 players you should subdued the Pokémon within ~5sec. … but everyone has to use gems on cool-down to clean the buff asap.
Last days I was in Barcelona in a top crowded Spot. 0 people for Mewto Raid. After that I was in Rome at the Colosseum, also very crowded. 0 people for a Mewto Raid. So it seems like it does not care where you are, without community its literaly a broken system.
Hey Nick did you upload a video of you opening up 3 yrs of research tasks? I couldve sworn you did. I was trying to watch it today in the morning but it wasn't there no more. I really wanted to see it. Have a good day
If you use a gem you gotta stop attacking and wait until the animation goes through. If you attack while the animation is going on, the gem gets cancelled and refunded.
Nick, we have no longer have communities. If you’ve struggled with 3* raids. What’s the likelihood of 3 people in our community beating a Mewtwo - Very High! This is looking to backfire. The community is still miffed about the remote raid passes, The Silph Road and now impossible 5* in-person only Mewtwo raids!
Solo'd a Shadow Quilava earlier today using a Mega Swampert and a stacked team of hundo Rock&Water counters with no gems (at the time I only had one). Took me down to ten seconds on my last 'mon. Definitely would not solo a 3-tier without an active Mega counter to ease the pain.
tl;dr Chances to get a Hundo: 0.46% for Normal Raids vs 2.7% (after Purifying) for Shadow Raids That's nearly SIX times more likely. The Maths: There are 3 Stats: Attack, Defense, & HP. Normal Raids have a Minimum IV of 10, meaning 6 Possible Outcomes: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, & 15. (6 Possible IVs) to the power of (3 Stats) equals (216 Combinations). 6 ^ 3 = 6 x 6 x 6 = 216 15-15-15 is "Perfect", so only 1 Outcome is Desirable. 1 divided by 216 equals 0.004629629..., or 0.46%. In comparison, Shadow Raids have a Minimum IV of 6, meaning 10 Possible Outcomes: 6 to 15. (10 Possible IVs) to the power of (3 Stats) equals (1,000 Combinations). 10 ^ 3 = 10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000 But in this case, achieving a Perfect 15-15-15 after Purifying means the Shadow IVs can be 3 Possible Outcomes: 13, 14, or 15. Because the act of "Purifying" a Shadow Pokemon adds 2 Points to every Stat. So, a 12-13-14 IV Shadow Pokemon will become a 14-15-15 Purified Pokemon. (3 Desirable IVs) to the power of (3 Stats) equals (27 Combinations). 3 ^ 3 = 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 27 divided by 1,000 equals 0.027, or 2.7%. DISCLAIMER: Most trainers should know this by now, but just in case you don't, Shadow Pokemon deal 20% more damage than their non-Shadow counterparts! (But they also take 20% more damage.) So a 6-6-6 IV Shadow Pokemon could potentially deal MORE damage than a 15-15-15 IV non-Shadow Pokemon of the same Level and with the same moves! This Probability of getting a Perfect IV Pokemon is MOSTLY for Hundo Collectors. Yes, there are other reasons to try for a Purified Hundo but I will not get into that here.
I like vids with Adam. I'd like to see a video on the Best of each type for "PVP" for all Pokémon that have been discovered in any game. So we will know which to power up in POKÉMON GO.
The in-game help on the raid screen says that several trainers can use the gems and their effect accumulates... which is not what we see on the video...
There is not a bad deal for a box where it costs around 800 or 900 coins and it gives you 15 premium raid passes plus some extra stuff. So honestly not a bad deal for that you get around 5-6 extra passes.
Enraged isn’t new it’s just from the main series games(like most things in this game) it’s from scarlet & violet. The Pokémon will terastalize & it gets buff’s similar to being enraged. This game relies so heavily on the main series… with such minute spins on them
I managed to solo a shadow sneasel yesterday on my second attempt, the gems were being buggy the same way yours were & it was SPAMMING ice punch. It was tough but I was able to beat it. Would be cool if the new feature worked 🥴
Quick math: possibility of getting a hundo for regular raids = (1/6)^3 = 0.46%. Possibility of getting a purified hundo for shadow raids = (3/10)^3 = 2.7%. It is much better odds.
Your numbers are way off there. Getting a perfect from regular raid is 1/216 and from a shadow is 1/973 (anything above or 13/13/13 would be consindered a perfect if u decide to purify).
