ive been teaching myself to build in rec room over 4 years and have just recently started to be more confident in my work, and this video shows exactly the things i have leaned myself!! its very good to teach people these things there are so many people that want others to do the work for them i hope this video inspires more people to work hard and grow and teach themselves things. massive respect bvr you rock as always!!!
As someone who has been creating for a long time, I cannot agree more with how important perseverance is. Almost everything I have made in my years has failed to gain any sort of traction , yet I keep doing what I wanna do, as, as we age we all get better at whatever it is we be doin', & as a perk eventually someone will be like wow that so cool!! I'm friends with a guy on rec room and he taught me how to build a plushie earlier on. I'm on mobile so I can't do the big builds like the majority of the community can, but with his instructions and help, I can hopefully make more decor in the future. I can't wait to start this journey 😊.
This was a great watch! I 100% support everything you've gone over in this. It resonates with my own view and mantra: "We must create for its own sake, not for fortune or attention or applause". Build because you love it, and let rewards come, or not, but it is purely secondary to the original goal of making something. It's why I'm still on RR, and why I can't take a break longer than 6 months before getting the itch to come back and start making again. Actually, that's something I'd recommend: Take a break every now and then. When you come back after a brief hiatus from RR, you'll have a very different perspective, fresh eyes, and a new drive to create. Its fantastic for creative blocks or dwindling enthusiasm and creativity.
Best thing to do is join a maker pen class . There is one for every type of thing. Horror . Building props . Building terrain . Circuits . And anything else . Before going to one i had no idea how to do anything with the maker pen then i went to one called beggining and everything . Won almost all the trophies for the class and now ive made about 3 or 4 small games with only a few hundred visits but ive made about 12k tokens so far
As a solo builder, ive been doing these things and I have gotten a lot better by building good terrain and landscapes, so thanks for posting this video BVR!
The thing is, people are usually only good at circuits or building. But I get the best of both worlds. Also I HIGHLY agree with the thing you said about the best team to work with is your friends that you work well with.
yeah, honestly my stuff that is made isn’t godly, but i had a good idea to revamp a city parkour game and give it it’s own unique climbing system. i spent hours and hours making a cv2 (which i knew almost nothing about) and used online tutorials to make a unique climbing system for my game. then, it absolutely flops. nothing i did would help and i gave up on making rooms for a bit a little after this. this video gave me inspiration to try again, though. i have a notes tab dedicated to rec room ideas and i will try and make one a reality. love you bvr.
@@BVR update; i did it (and it looks good) oh yeah incase you are reading this how do i fix the issue where spheres become more square until you select them? it has been bothering me for a while and i just kinda learned to live with it lol
@@BVR :), you should get more views! If the game itself (Rec Room, obv) was more popular I definitely think you would have atleast half a million subs by now!
I made a quest where almost all of the coding, maps, models, and spawns are made by me. It pays off, and you feel better about doing it on your own. (Also all of the gameplay is made with CV1.)
make your rooms emersive and give people a reason to go back maybe a goal maybe the hint of nastolgia people get give it somthing that people will remember and want to do
Well, this taught me a lot. I've made one room, basically by myself. isn't the best, but I know in the future things, will get better! Thanks, for giving me useful tips!!
Pretty good video! As a successful solo builder , I think you should've talked a bit more about the advertisement aspect of it as any rooms will not be successful unless you find a way to show it to people's.
My biggest problem with this stuff I make is the terrible stuff I made back in 2020. Somehow the worst recording of Die In A Fire in the history of man manages to have 3000+ downloads, while my more detailed stuff gets less than 100 downloads. I guess less is more?
You could take this video and apply it to anything creation wise and still be very helpful. Examples being making youtube videos, engineering, and creating stuff in general. It really boils down to make thing and if thing no good, it fine just keep trying until thing good or you happy with thing.
I been playing rec room for about 2 years now and i learn how to use the maker pen for like a year now and i do circuits i do building sometimes i im in a team called cube industry and i do the circuits in it
As a creator this was a great video but I have one thing to add if you want to be noticed try making something that hasn’t been done on RR or Make something that’s trending at the time It always works for me :) just don’t make it a cash grab for views 😑
Hey bvr I'm making a map called Rec-tionary and i was wondering if you could do a more in depth tutorial on wiring together things even if it's an hour long and unedited i would really appreciate it
