No !! The contrary it will protect against rust but it will collect more durt. I own a 07 Dakota for 8 year's i use for work and every 3 or 4 months a spray the frame with WD 40 or fluid film.
beware guys do not do what this guy did. wd40 is to not be used like this and will cause some severe issues in the future. not only cosmetic issues but if it touches any painted surface it will destroy the paint over time....
Yep I totally agree. It ruined the paint job on my truck and the only reason his frame looks so good is because it’s not really rusted it’s still in good shape from the factory.
I went to a used car lot looking for a car, I looked under the hood of each car the owner of the lot sprayed WD -40 on everything under the hood it looked good until I started the car and the manifold started smoking and smelling. I can say it looked good when when you open the hood. Great video Stay Safe✌🏽
Do you feel this is better protecting from rust that a product like Surface shield or is it more about just looking good? Do you worry that WD40 is going to attract dust?
You’re implying that water displacement #40 will cause rust? Oil meant to prevent rust and shield against water will cause rust…? Lemme ask this. Where are you from and how old are you? 🤦♂️
lol that white is dried salt and ya want to wash it off and not spray wd-40 on your frame it will over time attack the paint it is more less kerosene me I would clean and just clear coat it or at worst use pledge spray wood wax dose not hurt paint gives wet look and make water bead off for awhile.
no matter how well you want the undercarriage of your truck to look good, at the end of the day there will always be mud and grimes will make it to look rusty
You can tell how are the newbies in the comments section, talking about that the wd 40 will collect more rust 😂. Yes it will collect more durt but it will not rust the at all the properties of WD 40 will not allow it just like fluid film.
Ummmmm.... hate to tell you that WD-40 dries up in just a couple days. But I'm sure you realized that by now. Yes, it is a lubricant and looks shiny at first. But that doesn't mean it will stay shiny forever...lol In just a couple days it will look the same as before you did it. So unless you're doing it to sell a vehicle, you just wasted time and money, Next time try using an exterior clear coat spray can. It will last a lot longer. But watch out for overspray on your truck. If you get that, then wipe the truck with Acetone to remove the overspray and wax it.
well, it started out as hot garbage...just now, after the wd40, it's shiny hot garbage. but hey, if you think ppl judge you by how shiny your lifted truck on 22s is; well then it's too late.
No it was on the suspension. Close to the clutch but no quiet kid. It will destroy every thing it touches that isn’t metal moving parts. Plastic paint etc. it’s not a cosmetic “hack” 🤦♂️ it will be dried white and degrade the integrity of the exterior plastics. God forbid he get it on the paint.
