Alright! I'm giving you ALL of the details of my most recent metal tone using a real amp, the EVH 5150 III (EL34)!
Actually, I've been promising this for a while and this is the first video in a short series where I take you behind the scenes of recording my new album!
Here, you're getting my amp and EQ settings, mic, and mic placement along with some helpful recording tips!

Thanks man. With your courses, I'm getting much better. Thank you so much for all the free content to. The techniques in your RU-vid content are always useful! I love the tone settings and the little techniques in each video add creative value for even other genres including the rock styles. Deja Vu brother lol . Was just having this conversation and doing tweaking today after your tips from other day . Mud is bad lol I find a lot of trial and error is key to great tones . Save settings as presets or take pictures of amp bc knobs tend to move lol

YES to taking pictures!!! And you’ll the screenshots in this video of the settings (I’m probably going to write a blog post on this and that’ll have pictures as well!!) And man, something I failed to mention is to have a tight window for recording your rhythm tracks if it’s for an album. You don’t wanna record a few tracks then use your amp for something else and have to dial in those exact settings and mic placement and all again…especially if you want that tone to be consistent throughout the album.

I highly recommend a Morley A- B or A B C pedal if yo want to use multiple amps or amp and 2 amp sims or 3....Many options. Put your amp in a isolated room set to settings that sound lack luster but shine in the recording environment and use the amp sim to your liking and record.

Dave Mustaine has his bass cut also more than you do so the mids and highs come through

And that's what allows the bass tone to be so prominent in their music, which I like. Oftentimes the bass guitar is drowned out.

I’ve not played a 7 string but I know how you feel when I jumped from four string bass to six years ago . Like what am I doing then I remember when I’m playing it how nasty it is to have all that range without having to run your hand up and down the neck . The heavy black Ibanez beast will and can’t ever leave me lol

@@jasonstallworth I do too it’s not the most expensive thing out there but it’s still listed around 300$ something I think and it’s older . . Not a fan of changing battery for the pickups but it is smooth to play

Didn't know you were using a green screen :) you can use a 2 tone torpedo to record with high volume level but not a louder sound and get a fuller sound

Good riffing man, but a tune like this would benefit from having better midi drums... These sound super thin and papery...This video is two years old so maybe youve upgraded by now... lol. Keep it Metal Muthafukka.
