I live in Ontario too. They are great products. But unless Andrew gives you one like he does to all the RU-vidrs, you’ll have to take out a second mortgage and sell your right arm to pay for it

As previously mentioned on your Facebook post, I am certainly prepared to upgrade to the latest version of the Axis. Your older model is quite challenging to start, especially without the electric start, but I still value it greatly. It has been an invaluable asset in processing firewood, particularly for my bundle wood. In my opinion, the most appealing aspect of operating an Axis is the exceptional comfort it provides during operation. All controls are conveniently positioned at an ideal working height. This advantage is further enhanced in the upgraded version, which features additional controls on the front of the machine. I regret not acquiring a vertical splitter sooner, as it has always been my preference. Although my 9-16 splitter came to me unexpectedly, it has served me exceptionally well. I have no grievances whatsoever. Andrew consistently supports his products and creates remarkable equipment for us, the firewood professionals.

After running a vertical all my life I got to run one of there new improved axis machines in Vermont this spring at the logging show . It’s definitely the hot rod of its class and would be a great addition to any production Woodyard . Been thinking I might have to paint our vertical splitter now to keep up with all the competition.

Great machine for sure. Good to see Wolfe Ridge is keeping them on their toes in the improvement department. I 😂. The verticals are the way to go IMO but they were all lacking the one thing that everyone wanted, SPEED….. After you watch Buster from Allen Family Firewood it left all the others wanting for more.

I noticed something that scared me a little; the combination of the increased speed and your tendency to let your thumbs protrude above the top of the block of wood could conspire to give you a grievous injury. Where I have seen this Easton made Axis shine was splitting fine value added firewood. On this machine, creating bark free fine split bundle wood is a breeze

I own Axis number 27. It's been a great machine that I love to run. Had a SuperSplit before the Axis and the log lift really helped me to work longer, as well as being an all weather machine. The new Axis would be a nice upgrade....but I may have a few miles yet to put on No. 27 🔥

Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I've been a member of Team Vertical for nearly 20 years and until recent times have taken a lot of stick over my preference. The upgraded Axis is fantastic and it's hard to believe that with all those enhancements the price point remains the same. The machine however remains out of reach for most hobbyist log hounds who should check out the Split Fire 1165V instead for its price point, weight/maneuverability, small footprint and performance.

I really like the concept but would like to see an anti skid plate below the knife, seen too many rounds slipping out of alignment, just think it would enhance its performance which is top tier already. Have a great day 👍🏻

You didn't mention that it is a Canadian Product. You should do an Eastonmade factory tour and visit Canada. I think that the gasoline filler spout is nice since it is on a slope - I hate filler spouts that point straight up.

The Axis GT/SHO also has that spot to install a patio umbrella to give some shade while operating in the sun. Currently the upgraded Axis is the same price as the old one.

Nice machine indeed impressive return time on that unit as I was watching this can see retrofitting a conveyor belt somehow with a x wedge have seen those machines really put the wood out and uniform in size believe that would be ideal and at a fraction of the cost of those extremely pricey machines

Clearly Andrew and his people didn’t sit on their laurels after releasing the original Axis machine. Each and every improvement is well thought out and a real improvement in an already good machine. Personally think that the electric start, relocation of controls, and the automatic idle are outstanding improvements and additions of reverse for the outfeed and removal of the pin for the lift (something that I would loose) really perfect this machine.

Hi Joe, well it's quicker, and certainly Andrew has put some serious "thunking" into it. Very impressive bit of kit that. Must be at least 25%-30% fasterthan the original models. Sort of like comparing a model A to a modelT. Kind of weird hearing the motor revs ranging like that but you'd soon get used to it. Loved the swinging(traversing) conveyor. The splitting power seems good to me. I recall my old Axis was splitting some huge oak rounds at LHJ's yard. This one seems to have not lost any splitting power

G'day Joe, practical improvements from the team at Eastonmade always moving forward. If the clip that suspends the out feed Shute was reversed that wood knot would not have got stuck 🤔.When you said the original single cylinder engine was loud but the new twin cylinder engine quietened up the noise level, does that mean it's quieter or louder ? 👍.

I noticed you stop to clear a jam, it throttles down and dosen't power up until you cycle the splitter ram. Or mabe the lift arm. . Probably not a issue, just noted it does that.

@ohiowoodburner that's the only negative in my opinion. I like my equipment to be as simple and technology-free as possible. All the electronics components are going to cause issues down the road (in my experience) Still an awesome machine!

This is pretty much as low as it goes. The coveyor is close to digging into the tires so there is a positive stop on how low it will go

I've never considered that Tim. I don't think that is something I would be interested in. Seems to me the labor isn't the big contributor to the final price. I think I get that with my value added approach and home delivery. Maybe under the right conditions but for me i wouldn't want to do it.

Nice video showing the new axis . My only concern on any vertical splitter is the shoulder work with big rounds. Im about to get rotator cuff surgery on 1 shoulder now & my other one is probably in my future . Im not sure but it seems like extra wear & tear on yourself sliding & turning rounds on a vertical ?

It's 90 degrees out with a 88% humidity and 70% dew point and you didn't think to put an umbrella in the provided umbrella clamp ? 🤨🤔 All it really needs is a 120v plug for a fan

This is an odd comment. When you wrote this and the temps were hot outside, it wasn't hot the day this vid was made. Also, umbrellas don't do much to protect a person from the unpleasantness of high humidity. Also, why did you conclude that I didn't have an umbrella because I didn't "Think" to put one up? I can literally name off 27 reasons why there was no umbrella being used, for instance, I don't have one...or...I didn't want to...BUT for your needs it is because I didn't "Think" to put one up. You may be the smartest person in the room but that means nothing to me. I'm just a simple guy from Ohio who sells firewood.

The only issue i have with vertical splitters is that my saw work is that poor when making the rounds, the logs are unlikely to stand vertical properly!

I know what you mean. Sloped cuts can make for some excitement...especially if the logs are wet

They're pretty busy getting ready for a show right now . just wondering if my math is correct?? I spec"d one out on their site ..with that 23 horse // elec start..and the pivoting conveyor .. and it came up to $16.650... is that in the ballpark of what yours came out to be?. I can't speak to the price Ben. This one is pro bono for my YT channel. I was one of the original channels with the Axis from about 3 years ago. My original machine was #9. As of today, 8-15-2024 I understand the upgrade is no cost to the base price but that may change soon if it hasn't already. Thanks for subbing and supporting the channel Ben. Mine came out to $17.3k shipped. The conveyor adds another $500 to the reduced shipping that they offer. It’s just a waiting game now.

My boiler is 17 years old. It is what it is. Besides, I have found over the years I cut my wood shorter and shorter. Seems that my knees and back get sore around Feb from feeding heavy wood daily.

Okay just one question... is that boiler firewood you just made for yourself? ...or is it firewood that you are going to sell because I noticed that you made huge pieces of firewood and as far as I know you guys don't make such big pieces to sell often... 🪵🪵

All the big boiler pieces are for my own wood shed. The smaller pieces are for sale. I don't sell boiler wood bc it isn't worth as much $$
