Love this video! Thank you for explaining everything. Would you happen to know or have any ideas on how how to extend the light fibers past the allowed 9 feet for 3 different panels (a-frame ceiling) for the same light machine?

Amazing project! Going to build this in our dedicated theater. You mentioned using felt pads. I did not see that in the build video. Where were they placed?
@KedrickFoster
@KedrickFoster 15 дней назад
Thank you, they were added after the fact on the back side to minimize light from bleeding thru

I think your hot glue is going to make it significantly heavier and cause the fabric to sag more. Awesome setup!

I worry you’re sagging may be the same problem I had with the swinging hooks you put into the two by fours even though it’s lightweight I did the same thing in the garage and it fell after six years. Luckily nobody was there to fall on.. but the swinging screws eventually loosen the hooks attached to the ceiling by friction. The swinging screws were all worn out where the two met at the metal connection between the two screws you put together I seen it in the first video and thought it might’ve fell in this video.. I use cardboard for mine before I seen this video. It’s easier to cut manipulate and mold and attach.

So I’m redoing my kitchen and doing fiber optic lights in my countertops. I’m now considering doing them in my basement ceiling and was going to do it right into the drywall but idk how the hell I would go about doing that lol
@KedrickFoster
@KedrickFoster 7 месяцев назад
Hmmmmm that would be tough. You would somehow need access from above.
@jakejacobson2999
@jakejacobson2999 7 месяцев назад
@@KedrickFosteractually now that I think about it I probably could just do it from my attic. And then I wouldn’t have to even hang new board or anything. Just drill a bunch of holes

Thanks mann, been holding on to your other video for awhile and have most of the materials needed to build it now. My only concern is whether or not I will see the cluster of the fiber optics coming from the machine from directly under the lights given the cloth isn't totally blacked out. Is that an issue for you?
@KedrickFoster
@KedrickFoster 19 дней назад
yeah, that’s what the black felt it for. put that between the cluster and the main fabric to totally block the light

Did you make a pattern or did you just put the LEDs in randomly? I am worried that I will get "blank spots" or run out of LEDs before I have covered the entire piece.
@KedrickFoster
@KedrickFoster 9 месяцев назад
I just placed them randomly and doubt you will run out. I didn’t used about 30% of the strands because I didn’t want it to look too cluttered.

Where is the lighting system hang at? Inside the panel, if so hold did you mount it and what’s its weight?
@KedrickFoster
@KedrickFoster 6 месяцев назад
Yes it's mounted to the frame. I used heavy duty zip ties. I would guess it's about 3 pounds if that .
