As forecasters track Hurricane Hilary's path toward Southern California, they use spaghetti models to explain and predict the storm's projected path. Details: abc7.com/hurricane-hilary-spa...
Very impressed with Dallas. I commend him for a great broadcast, clear, enthusiastic and informative. You can see he's pumped up for this event, first tropical storm watch in southern Ca history. Needs to spend more time on the surf that will be firing, but good job Dallas.
Yeah exciting stuff,, it will be nice to see some of those roads and stuff washed away, it'll make life interesting here in Oregon all we have is meth and lotto.
Nobody is Custom to this type weather in socal in short time frame Dallas explains the weather beautifully , and back n day DR George fishback 👔 is truly the best weather man in California, was and there is a huge fan base for him. He is very liked throughout LA, and you can not replace folks like him when TV was different back n day . I have ben watching kabc's original team for many years. Mark Brown is great as well, very talented and exceptional , and truly one of best in business 👏 👌
Dallas has crazy weather during the winter, which I think is entertaining. One afternoon it’s 75 degrees and then bam it’s like 20 outside next morning
@justinw8370 Dallas can't change that the weather is very unpredictable and all metrology trying to figure out what is going on with our climate when water in pacfic is extremely warm unfortunately resulting to a hurricane 🌀 🤔 Dallas is very accurate and explains everything in detail so you understand conditions.
I liked Dr. George Fischbeck, too. (iirc) He was first to define the weather science associated with "El Nino" on prime time LA weather back in the '70's.
@sneakerset hello" Of course, DR. George, was fun watch bow 👔 😁that was a great time back then. Tv was fun to watch, and script writing was awesome before than , I miss those days 😢
I just got back from seeing some family in southern Japan where there were house-shaking thunderstorms multiple times a week and was looking forward to getting back into the moderate weather and sunshine... can't say I'm not excited though it'll be interesting to see how we handle this amount of rain.
Cloud tops at over 60-thousand feet. That's at the edge of the atmosphere. This thing is huge even if it comes in at cat-1. It's so huge that it's massive rain load will even reach the Canadian border & possibily beyond.
Thank you Dallas. Your report is the best I’ve heard. Working from home Monday for sure and making sure we have extra ice, matches and candles just in case…
What a great rollmodel Dallas is for us older Gentleman At 69 Dallas seems to be getting younger and has more energy as the years March on. His enthusiasm For his work. Just shines on this story. Thank you Dallas. 😊❤
you guys need to live stream events if you are already in the center. news stations need to start realizing more people watch youtube than cable tv now
Please take this matter seriously. Prepare for a power outage by stocking up on supplies for one or two days. Their power grid is not reinforced in the same manner as ours on the East Coast, and it still becomes incapacitated when severe weather strikes. I hope they will not be devastated and no lives will be lost due to their ignorance. Please take precautions Cali. Hurricanes are no joke. Wishing you all well and good vibes🙏🏼
I love LA and love living in LA (most the time 🙂)... for example this guy who is revered and loved by all.. (including myself).. Dallas sneaks in a fricken SURF REPORT!!! for all those crazy skilled surfers... 🤣😂👍
I have a question, low pressure means cold weather, why the L letter is red color , instead of blue and same thing for hot weather, the letter h is blue instead red color.
We need some rain in Kingman AZ just a inch or two nothing to crazy. The drainage ditches in Kingman, three of them are over a 100 ft wide and 20-30 feet deep and can handle a lot of rain. Run from one end of town to the other into the low land on route 66 and where I live is at least 200 feet above that. Stocked up on food and have 100 gallons of water, full tank of propane, what could go wrong, right.
This is wild!! I'm from the South so I'm used to tropical weather. Been thru a few tropical systems living in Georgia/Alabama. But for Cali to get this 😲
@naudianeels1328 I've been thru a few especially when I lived in south Alabama. and even now that I live in the Atlanta area for almost 20 years but LA/San Diego?? This is crazy 😲
I have lived in the gulf of Mexico since the mid 90s, CAT1 is still no joke, not just the wind but the rains will take you just as good. If you live near a drainage, foothills, open areas with no trees, your will be affected, they will shut the power off, and prepare for a few days or maybe a week or more without power. Get cash, water, canned and package foods, solar radio and charger for your devices. This is epic, expect mud slides with 80 mph wind gust and hard continuous pelting rain for over 12 hours or more. The wind will be deafening as it blows through those canyons and will increase as it blows into the valley, those canyons will act like a wind tunnel, roof damage fences, trees, power lines will be coming down. Sucks to be you, I have my share of CAT1s though CAT5.
I'm visiting my sister in Twentynine Palms and they haven't seen an inch of rain in 10 years and we got the Beers out and the music and we are all set to party. The Desert is ready to soak all this wonderful rain up.
This is gonna almost cause pure devastation. Hardly no one will live. Afterwards, I think all of the families are gonna have to resort to incest to restart their population.
@@sneakerset Awesome! I had no idea. I lived in Long Beach at the time and would go to Fenders Ballroom and catch some of the up and coming punk bands like TSOL, Black Flag, Agent Orange and Social Distortion.
Many prayers California from Florida. Ian was horrible. Hang in there I 🙏 that it weakens but you guys are gonna get huge rain falls. Stay safe. Check on your older neighbors. Important to work together
1:56 That low pressure system that has been "sitting there" for a few days, he said, "holds the KEY" to drawing in the storm to southern cal - which only happened TWICE IN RECORDED HISTORY. But he doesn't tell us WHAT ELSE IT WILL DO once the storm comes ashore. I predict that low pressure system is GOING TO FINALLY MOVE and then possibly intensify the storm onshore.
Ho hum . It's a nightly thing here for a few months. The ßound, then the program interruptions and the band scrolling across the screen top, tornado watch, warnings, tropical storm warning and watches.
East side of the eye wall will get the bulk of the wind and rain, I would not be too certain that it will weaken due to the cooler waters! Dude I seen Harvey a tropical storm make landfall, then hit reverse and sit on top of Beaumont Texas/ lake Charles La and drop over 50 inches of rain In a day! Shouldn’t act like you can predict these storms!
