Welcome back to Quantum News Monthly in 2024! Mingyu and I kick off our first video this year by covering the much celebrated recent paper on logical quantum processor from Harvard University. We compare and contrast this work with other notable quantum error correction work from ‪@GoogleQuantumAI‬ and ‪@QuantinuumQC‬. Finally, we add an important outlook for future work needed in error correction and fault tolerant quantum computing.

I really love your content: reviewing quantum computing papers, explaining quantum computing concepts to the layman, and of course your personal journey into quantum computing. I can't wait to see more. You have my subscription. Kudos and keep it.

Great video yall! Good use of visuals. One suggestion: you might add chapters to the video so people can see when you’re talking about each company or topic.

Thats 11 minutes I'll never get back. I'm just a lowly software engineer still on zeros and ones.

Would a coherent noise resonance drown out the enviromental noise and assist in error correction?
@mingyukang6734
@mingyukang6734 2 месяца назад
Great question! As far as I know, I think coherent noise will just add up to the various kinds of noise, rather than "drown" environmental noise. There are numerical evidence that coherent errors can be suppressed more by using quantum error correcting codes of larger distance.

Thanks for watching! Nielsen & Chuang textbook is highly recommended. For online materials, check out intro to quantum computing stuffs from companies like IBM, Pennylane, and Qctrl!

Hello bhaiya , im from india and in 10th grade I want to pursue a career in quantum physics and research what should I do after 10th?

Study study study - read physics books, solve problems, participate in competitions like Olympiads if you can. And work towards getting into a good university (at home or abroad) with good research opportunities.

Hey Is it a good idea to pursue masters in physics Specialisation in Quantum Technologies, in United States? I'm from India.
@debobiswas

Yeah absolutely, getting a MS in quantum can be very good for starting a career in this field. Duke offers a master's in this subject, and so do a handful of other universities.
