Terrific deal, yes, or straight up paid to pretend to have bought it, make ad videos about it which are so incredibly transparently bought, then give it back and pretending that he "sold" it 6-18 months later... How clearly fake are his "Oh look, I came to this Cars & Coffee and someone just happened to truck in a Zenvo! I own one too, and I think it's the best car here!"??

@@Pseedholm There are so many ways he they could be doing this. I suspect he was either given the car at a massive discount which he financed, maybe even at 0% through Zenvo or the owners' finance companies, and they have promised him a guaranteed sales price at the end of the contract term (probably 1 year or 1,5 years in). So essentially they're loaning him the car just like any car manufacturer gives the press long-term loan cars, but they might've done this kind of contractual trickery to pretend he actually bought the car. Or it's straight up just a long-term loan and they're making all this "I bought a Zenvo" stuff up. But he might've actually just got the car at a huge (absolutely massive) discount and he's speculating on getting at least 1/2 of the car's price back at resale. Now with inflation it's good to park your money somewhere, and if he gets a massive discount from a car company who think it's worth essentially paying him half a million or so for a year's worth of massive marketing reach, why not? I want to make it clear that I don't dislike Shmee even though I don't like this fakery part of the business (though I do respect him less because of these stunts), and all this is only speculation, but I refuse to believe that it is in any way probable that he paid anywhere near list price and that it's not essentially a marketing deal between him and Zenvo.

I guess it's a massive discount on the MSRP to promote the car and the brand. And I guess it's working, it's got the people talking about Zenvo.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Zenvo either. But it definitely seems like Shmee is betting that this car might someday be worth like $10 million (which is may very well be)...assuming he'd ever sell it in the future.

I am absolutely in love with the zenvo. Funny that people have such a different taste about things. His content is amazing indeed. Its just so relaxing to watch.

In the USA European voices are trusted more than American accents. Advertisers know this fact and have used European actors in commercials for decades because of it.

It looks like he makes close to 30k a month from just RU-vid not including his involvement in an finance company, sponsors, affiliate links, merchandise sales, brand sponsorships and investment earnings. it could have been at the start I guess but if you look up his financials I think the kid is doing just fine.

to be honest, I don’t shmee’s opinion is so valuable in the hypercar world that anyone would base their 2 million dollar car purchase on him. They probably discounted it because otherwise they wouldn’t have costumers. The 2million is just a way to bring attention, these cars are in no way comparable to a Paganini, Bugatti or keonigsegg

A lot of people do seem to hate him surprisingly, but I've never gotten a genuine reason as to why other than "daddy's money" which has been debunked multiple times or "he's annoying" which is subjective opinion. I've just chalked it up to pure jealousy.

Totally people can't grasp the fact that he might making big money in other areas and are like zenvo gave him a discount or that its a loaner when if u see how many people would by a 2 million dollar hypercar because a youtuber has one. Also I think he is making an awsome choice because he will be the prime customer for zenvo which isn't possible with other brands

The reason no Shmee fan can be a hater is because we’ve watched him from the beginning when he was just a vlogger flooding RU-vid with videos before ever showing his face, up to when he bought his r8 and his adventures, up to his first mclaren and all of the growth he’s experienced over the past…what 10-15 years or so? He’s the pinnacle of hard work and persistence, and yet somehow he’s done it all while still managing to be a decent human being.

You can't get a brand new hypercar under $2M these days. and also, cars are subjective, you might only focus on the HP and torque figures. but other ppl look beyond that. at the end of the day, zenvo is a great car in itself, stop the hate.

Well, despite what I think about the desirability of the end package, to be fair: it does have a massive amount of very high-quality engineering in it. They use lots of exotic materials, apparently they do do things properly, they test their product thoroughly, and above all they've created lots of bespoke in-house systems and tech. I may not think they've been successful in the end due to shortcomings in other areas and yet-unrefined areas, but there's no doubting there's lots of impressive stuff in those cars. Couple that with how expensive bespoke cars are nowadays and the price isn't that outrageous. _If_ Zenvo one day comes out with a new model that is much more cohesive and successful, then that might make very early Zenvos desirable and gain in value? Unlikely, but... Vintage car remanufacturers in the USA routinely ask well over half a million to over a million for old cars they've straightened up, shined up, and plonked crate motors into... Ruf made an impressive, but not that massively capital-intensive completely new interpretation of a 911 without any revolutionary or really cutting edge tech (a carbon tub, yes, and they did redesign just about every part, but in today's world that is pretty routine and only counted in work hours instead of massive investment). They charge about a million for a redone, 'simple' old 911. They've publicly told us they only invested €12 million into its development which is an astoundingly small investment, and for sure a fraction of what has gone into Zenvo.

@@20nobody20 according to Car and Driver, it’s based off a GM LSx crate engine. The heads do look eerily like LS stuff also. I don’t think that takes away from the car, because while the block may be LS based, the rest is ‘just’ bespoke/high end parts bolted into/onto it.

And he DRIVES them. Guy has 15-20 cars and still has some of the highest mileages GTs, Sennas, etc.

He got paid to pretend to buy a Zenvo and market it a while. Owning a Pagani costs absolutely massively, Pagani totally pumps all Pagani owners dry with their totally insane mandatory maintenance costs. So: make money while pretending to buy a Zenvo in a deal with Zenvo, or haemorrhage money like no tomorrow by genuinely buying a Pagani?

That's a totally unrealistic scenario that one of the most famous youtubers and marketers on the planet would just happen to select to buy a totally unknown and questionable supercar, then already now having made a series of videos where he has just happened to travel to pretty random car meets and "by chance" there have been Zenvos trucked in and the owners of those surprise Zenvo showings aren't mentioned or shown. Don't be gullible. Yes, it's speculation, but it's based on what is most probable and what makes most sense. I have lots of marketing experience (both academic research and in practice). I also have had a relationship with car manufacturer marketing departments, as my company and I have had a lot of sponsor cars for free from a manufacturer, and while dealing with that I've seen how they deal with a multitude of their other sponsorees and partners. So I know a bit of how these things work (not with Zenvo, a very different kind of huge car company, but nevertheless).

looks are subjective. Personally i think it looks better than any Pagani.

It’s a 1 of 5 first ultimate car from them, right now that doesn’t mean much but Tim believes with the people from all these other hypercar companies that zenvo will get as big as pagani and koenigsegg. If they do then this car becomes real valuable

He has plenty of other business's, he used to be a financial advisor so I'm sure he knows how to invest
