austinhockey11 No issues whatsoever besides a few recalls. Now at 80K miles. I should note that I’ve ran nothing but Premium Fuel in it since I bought it new. Plan on keeping this until the Gen 3 Raptors or RAM TRX comes out (whichever has a V8 option). But I highly recommend this truck, I love it.
@@SPHINX144 i would buy a ford over any Land Rover car any day, I want reliability for my work and everyday life and Range Rover cars are only famous thanks to the Kardashians
- not true only idiots wreck them they are not bad actually for being a stock truck a way more improvement from the first gen. For that much money they are literally giving you a stock factory built pre runner. Ive driven in these trucks out in the open desert and i can say theres a reason they are worth that much. Great trucks for the price! better than getting a king ranch thats for sure.
Amusing little bit of trivia: My son worked as an assembly line lead at the Ford Rouge plant, and was asked to build the first Raptor at the plant so the line engineers could observe techniques and make adjustments to the processes. When he finished assembling the truck and they were done with their notes, they showed their appreciation by letting him pick the color he wanted them to paint it. He chose to have it painted like one of his dad's modified track cars, and they laughed, but they did it in the closest color they could get. And this is the part that Doug will probably cringe at, but it's absolutely true: The first assembly mule (At the Rouge plant anyway) for the F150 Raptor was painted in honor of a 2004 Electric Blue Chrysler PT Cruiser.
i am very surprised nobody is screaming and crying out saying this is fake, im am very jealous of your son cause i want to be able to do that, but i found a new car company called Lucid Motors im going to try to apply and work for
Man. I don't even have a love of cars or anything or need a new car but I just love watching these videos. I've been watching for like 6 hours straight. Somehow I look up and it's night time.
My grandpa has this car car and he's like 80 and goes 10 less than the speed limit and when i tell him to go faster he says “do u want me to get pulled over??” 😂
problem is nobody cares about the aztec for longer than a single video of showing how ugly and quirky it is. much more interesting to pick a car that could be a challenge to live with in some way or another and he can put out multiple videos on it. much like the range rover which is notorious for breaking down and watching the monthly billing of repairs from the bumper to bumper guarantee was pretty funny.
I like how in every other video the comment section is very tame, but here all the truck fanboys lose their shit over which ever company their daddy's truck has.
I'm a GM/Dodge truck fan, but this Raptor is the one Ford I'd be willing to buy. It's practical, bad ass and luxurious. Great combo. I wish GM would do one with the Silverado or Sierra because for me, those just look so much better styling-wise, but I'd take a Raptor.
Carbon ZL1 is the Chevy Silverado All Star Edition that they always show the commercial about better than the regular Silverado or is it just that they have different livery's and rim colors?
This has gotta be the most powerful V6 on the market. I never thought I’d see the day a V6 would break 300 and here we are at almost 500. It’s pretty amazing...
We used a Raptor up in Scotland for moving equipment and stuff to the locations we were going to use. As a Brit I can't really get involved with the Dodge v Ford stuff or even the V6 v V8 sound stuff as the EU thinks anything that's not super hybrid should be illegal, but I can say this. Those things are beasts. We had no problem with getting stuck or rough bounces damaging equipment, it was very happy in the wet marsh and on the slopes themselves. Hungry, it did eat more than the land rover and the 2 Nissan pick ups we had but it was the only thing we didn't get stuck, or damage a tire, or scrape the underside too badly. We pointed it at any problem and it did the job we asked of it. I may not know a great deal about US trucks, but the one we had was an off road and rough terrain work horse of a machine. If I needed to go out to a location like that again, or something similar I would see if I could get a raptor again. Sure, I might scratch the paint. but it's designed for heavy off roading. that's the point of a raptor. In my mind if a truck like this has scrapes and scuffs then it's being used properly. They are a nice looking truck, but I like my machines to do the job I ask of them beyond anything else. function over form. so if this version is anything like the one I used, it's going to be a real tough and versatile truck which I'd be happy to take on assignment.
Joy banger101 if you read my post I clearly state we had a Land Rover and two Nissan 4x4s and they didn't perform as well. The Nissan's couldn't deal with the terrain properly and the land rover was better, but didn't have the ground clearance or the power to really take on some of the harsher Rocky areas. Considering we used the winch on the raptor to repeatedly free the stuck Nissan's I can safely say a standard 4x4 would not have done the job.
The contrast between the videos and comments are funny. I've seen a lot of Raptor videos and the 2017 Raptor has put a smile on everyone's face who has driven it. Then you read some of the comments. I can only conclude the haters are either upset because their car company of choice has nothing that competes with the Raptor, or they're upset because they want but can't afford one.
Ford has really done well recently with these high powered engines. The Ford Focus RS also made everyone smile. I just hope they will come out with a V6 Mondeo or something powerful. The RS lacks the spare tire and well, the space.
I bought my 2017 Raptor 2 weeks ago and Love this truck. I was one of those hard core off-road guys that always dismissed & laughed at the Raptor owners when they would talk up their trucks, a lot of that still stand but it's against the Gen 1 trucks and Definitely not the Gen 2 because all the points that were laughable have been addressed and fixed/removed/replaced. Before I purchased my Raptor I visited and test drove every competitors truck and even the 3/4 ton trucks and not one of them came close when looking at the truck as a whole. It's got the softest seats & suspension & when you have permanent lower back issues those to things are a massive plus. The rear passengers get not only air ducts(cough Chevy Cough) they get USB, 12V & 110v outlets & Seat Heaters. I normally don't worry about the rear passengers but those are hard to ignore. Everyone do yourself a good deed and if you can afford it Get Yourself A Gen2 Raptor & enjoy driving again & get that feeling of owning a Bad Ass Truck. Wow this was longer than intended but I just love ❤️ my truck.
machel buchanan can answer any questions ya got, two completely different vehicles but I can see the delimea Camaro is quick but the streets are getting so bad ya can’t use the call more than 60% where as Raptor’s twin turbo boosting to 20psi do get it up moving quicker than any other truck this fast beast doesn’t have to slow down to 60% for shitty roads. Ya get to go 100% even when the road ends.
Never really been into trucks but this has changed my mind, it's really cool! The only problem is that we have to pay around $145,000 for it here in Sweden :O
This is hands down the best Raptor review I've watched online. Doug's enthusiasm and spontaneous reactions makes this review fun. Love the way the Raptor's features are covered without being long-winded or boring. I hope Ford offers a stripped version of the Raptor next year with a much lower starting price.
Official Kelby You can buy Ford Ranger Raptor little brother of F150 Raptor. If you don't like give it to me its my first time truck ever in my life.. Greetings from Philippines!
Johnny Boy the dealership I work at wants 87,000 for one in the same color as the one in the video it's been here for two months and no one has even test drive it yet lol
A few months back, I called the dealer about a mile down the road from me and said I was interested in the Raptor (and was willing to pay MSRP). They told me $15k over sticker is what they were asking. I told them I would never step foot in that dealership again. A week later I went to another dealership and decided to just just go with a leftover '16 F150 Platinum that was on the lot. So, the first dealership lost the sale, and will never see my truck in their service bay. I hope they think that was worth the $15k.
Lee Mychajluk That's supply in demand, they have that right to charge what it's worth. Unless they wronged you it's childish. MSRP is not the law of the land.
Russell Evans highly doubt it. The lightning didn’t sell well at all. Plus everyone wants a lifted/big truck. No one wants a lowered race truck, even though I would take one.
This was supposed to be the successor to lightning but it ford realize it not very easy to make a pick up truck for the race track so they said fuck it and made an off-roader
its bullshit, the small pickup truck protection laws were a good thing till they killed all small pickup production, and now you can't buy an affordable small pickup, the law should be scrapped
Isaac Simpson yeah yeah ram is all nice and stuff But ford impressed me when they engineered a v6 that generates 450 hp Which is higher than a ram limited with hemi
such a strange phenomenon Though i can probably guess that most of the people buying new Raptors are first time raptor owners and don't know much about the older truck And I guess by that logic the haters are mostly first generation Raptor owners (like my dad and I)
wasup I went from my 2013 Gen 1 Raptor to the Gen 2 and I must say I have zero regrets. Of course the sound is not the same but god damn this thing is powerful. As soon as I test drove it I was ready to hand in my keys to the Gen 1.
The only problem with an off-road vehicle that is HEAVILY electronic is that if something goes wrong 200km away from the nearest workshop, a simple problem could immobilize the entire vehicle.
Lawson Palmer take it from a mechanic, you're wrong. You can rip any non vital engine harness wire out from under it off road and it will still function just fine. Computer reverts to pre-programmed data, will not have "optimum performance" but will keep going just fine.
Daren Foertsch Is it one of Doug's plates? He collects plates. Looks like PA plates later in the video. Maybe the owner didn't want his plate number on camera.
Hope Doug doesn't pick the Raptor to buy, RU-vid is getting flooded with content around this car, he needs something more outside the box like the Hummer that gave him a big boost in content
Unimog ;) We had one at our firedepartment in germany. if where on a emergency drive on the autobahn with blue lights sirens and stuff - people where always looking. and we where always cheering when we got over 60. km/h. thats 40. that thing need yellow lights. but offroad? no one beats that thing there. exept for a tank.
Crocodile Dundee @ the Chevy dealership: - Nick, give him your wallet! - What for? - He's got a truck! - That's not a truck. [In rolls Ford Raptor] - That's a truck.
Had a Escalade ESV with the 6.2L. Currently have a Gen2 Raptor. It's the best of both worlds. Regarding the steering, you can adjust it for Comfort, Normal & Sport mode. Makes the steering SUPER SHARP!
What blows my mind is he's in a specialty off-road performance truck with big A/Ts and 14" suspension travel yet says "I'm amazed i can barely feel these bumps"
Peter Welsh most large trucks have a terrible ride. The suspension is stiff to it doesn't bottom out when you have a full bed. Every truck I've been in you feel every bump.
11/5/17, The avg guy's not going to spend $70k++ on a fancy truck, much less a contractor/commercial business. I have a 2015 Taurus I just had serviced, the dealer says they sell maybe 2 of those in a year.
Preston Weiters Jr. They sell 2 a year due to allocation there speciality vehicles. When it comes to inventory Ford treats these the same way they treat Shelby's. Alot of dealerships actually charge 5-15g OVER sticker due to scarcity. You are right however this particular truck is NOT affordable luckily you can get the "rich guy" tailgate in a low level Lariat and the sliding window, tailgate step and trailer backup are available on the XLT. (Source I work at a Ford dealership.)
Carmax can be very fair sometimes the problem is people come in and think they have the top of the line package and they don't, plus mechanical problems or dents scratches etc.. you usually make more selling to a private party but they don't know what to look for!
@Tyler they was actually pretty fair with me but I don't doubt what you are saying sometimes but I feel like that can be said for a lot of car lots and companies whether you are selling or buying.
I cry every time I see this video. Born in the wrong country with astronomical import duty, I'd have to shell out $200,000 if I were to import this beauty.
+King Zak The tax never works, all it does is place an artificial limit on affordable vehicles to the average consumer. But then again libtards don't want people to drive anyway so it's a win-win for them.
The Raptor is probably my favorite Ford truck. I used to have a used 2010 and the interior was SUPER comfy. I loved it but my mom sold it to someone who kept it in a barn for 6 months though😑...
I really want Doug to review my 93 gmc sierra lol he'd love to drive it since you can turn the whole fuckin steering wheel before the wheels even move lmao
Joe Chevy when trucks will be driving themselves. Insurance will be sky high for cars that HUMANS have to drive. Just thinking about a future like this would be scary.
You'd be surprised. There are two Ikea's, a fist-full of home depot's, a number of very decent parks which one can trail ride, and a number of "always-grid-locked-during-rush-hour" highways where the comfortable captains chair of a big plush "raised up high" seat can ease the AM/PM commute. And the off-road opportunities abound. I mean there is hardly a private home that doesnt have at least some green lawnage on the front that one can have the occasional excursion and experience that 14" of travel with those 35" tires. . totally worth the $65k cost of entry. I mean, doesnt 'everyone' have $65k throwing about betwixt the old reciepts, loose coins, and pocket lint in ones blue jeans?
Im very familiar with Philadelphia. its a shit city. ... CITY !!! These trucks are HUGE and have massive shocks menat for some serious off roading... OFF roading. You can still visit ikea and home depot in a hatch back. people that buy these things are idiots.
I don't get why people get so bent out of shape about how others spend their hard earned money. You don't want to buy a Ford Raptor? Guess what? You don't have to.
Doug didn't 'Doug Score' the Raptor in this video, but at some point he did and gave it an overall 67 which is only 6 points short from his top score vehicle at 73 points...the 918 Spyder. That says something about this pickup truck.
PAKISTANI REVIEW: Excellent review Doug, when you said its worth every penny of $65k. I love big trucks like Toyota Vego, Tundra etc etc but this beautiful RAPTOR is just above & beyond every other option out there. I hope i could save & buy a truck someday.
Its not fake actually - its the actual sound of the truck amplified. Many car manufacturers are doing this because people want quiet and insulated cabins... until they don't. Best of both.
I love this video and your enthusiasm! I ordered a 2012 Raptor from the factory. I've previously own Toyota, Chevy and other Ford 4x4s. I love trucks and nothing lesser (bleach Dodge) will ever compare. Resale value? I get calls twice a month begging me to trade mine in, and even after waiting 101 days for delivery and six years of fun driving, I'll never trade this baby in on anything less than a new Raptor!
twin turbo v6 15 mpg city 18 mpg highway. 6.2l 12 mpg city (if your manual shifting it) 16 mpg highway. 5.4l 14 mpg city and 18 mpg highway. 1st things first if your main focus is gas mileage then the raptor probably is not the best vehicle for you. If your looking for a truck to run fast 0-60 times probably shouldn't get a super-crew pickup that ways 6,000lbs plus. Granted this truck can do it all with that twin turbo V6, i just see all the moving parts as a real hassle if you intend to keep it for a long time. Granted if i bought it i would just save up and prepare for those costs. I would probably just go with an older 5.4l raptor put a full exhaust, high-flow intake and ported heads.
This is the most excited I seen anyone driving a vehicle giving a review ever😅. And I totally see why. This is almost the best truck EVER made! Great review
Paul Williams I'm a hard core chevy guy and I just bought a '17 Raptor. Not regretting it one bit either, even the little jab jokes from my ChevyGang buddies.
