Hey bro, Is there any way you could help me find a Scarab 2 standard drop point? I’m not sure if you have any connections but I completely missed the boat on them after waiting years for the release lol. I blame the pandemic! Manticore made me think if dark angel. With Jessica alba. In the show she's genetically enhanced and was made in Manticore😆😆😆

After watching this video, I bought one of these. I went with the Manticore X Recurve, but it was either that or the Bowie. Wish I had gotten both. Been carrying for a day now, and I must say I am very impressed. Fires crisply, and easy to fire and retract. It is easier to fire than Ultratech, and easier on thumb, but does not fire as easy as Infidel. The length of the handle is excellent. the notches on the blade of the Recurve (unlike the d/e shown in the video) so that I can choke up and put my thumb on it for grip and control. Where has this brand been hiding?!? I love it. Thanks for the lead.

Never had or handled an otf. Just got this in double edge battleworn Elmax. I have no basis for comparison but I’m quite pleased with this. And now this will be my benchmark to compare others against. I have a Tacknives arriving tomorrow so…we’ll see!

Picked up a Recon 035, but was on the fence about a Heretic. In the end I saw a lot more information online (youtube videos mostly) on the Guardian Tacticals so I went that way, always wondered though. Thanks for putting out this video!

I've got one with the bowie profile blade (so you can get your thumb on it); it's Elmax. Very nice, doesn't ping like the Delta, but also easier to fire. Would recommend to a friend.

Monolithic citadels look amazing on Microtech OTFs lol. I appreciate the intention and attention to detail in fabrication. That being said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. BUT C'MON THOSE GLASS BREAKERS JUST LOOK TOUGH 😁

I hope the edge is ground better on this knife that was on the small Manticore recurve I used to own. It had a ridiculously thick edge that was not good for anything but a letter opener.

It’s really amazing that someone in history designed a double edged blade “dagger” so that the user would get two blades to cut cardboard with so when one went dull they could use the other. Makes me wonder, were double edged swords meant for extra large cardboard? You can tow a trailer with a Ferrari but that’s not what it was designed to do.

I never said the Dagger was specifically designed for that, but as a rational person, I don't really care what it was designed for. The hard fact is that 99.999% of the people who buy this thing will simply be using it for general stuff (like cutting cardboard.) Having two edges is advantageous. Looking at it that way is substantially more beneficial to the people who watch this than going over all the historical "tactical" advantages of a Dagger. PS. A Ferrari might be designed to corner well and exceed 250 MPH... but again, most people ain't gonna be driving it that fast. Its the fantasy of the intended purpose that attracts people. The real life application is much different.

Anyone know the differences between the Manticore X and the Colossus? Trying to figure out why the Colossus has a higher price but yet a smaller knife than the X. Can't find any videos the compare the 2.

The Colossus is basically the Heretic version of the Scarab. Any stock that's out there for the X is old stock. The newer blades are using Magnacut and have gotten a lot more expensive. Near as I can tell, the only Manticores they're making are the expensive ones with the Fat Carbon scales for $550 and up. Anything not using Magnacut is old stock.

They are great knives, but if you decide to open it up, do not over tighten the screws. The tread pitch on those screws are microscopic and will trash the chassis if you over tighten.

Another downfall to dagger blade is the blade width behind the edge has to be thicker simply because you don’t have as much blade there so a dagger can’t get as sharp as a single edge.

One side can cut cardboard until it gets dull and then you switch sides 😁. Daggers can be pretty practical.

OTF's aren't legal to carry in Oregon even though and with being able to have a concealed carry license very easily. *Update: OTFs' are legal in Oregon to own and carry, they just can't be concealed.

I’m not being a smart as-just curious because I’ve never had to worry about this kind of thing (Tennessee is truly God’s country) How does one carry an OTF in a way that isn’t concealed? Is it considered unconcealed if the clip is visible, or are we talking about neck lanyards and stuff like that?

what he is saying about "made in the usa" is also true of Swiss "made" watches. I believe its something like 85% of parts must be Swiss sourced but can be assembled anywhere. It is possible they have increased the required authenticity but there is often loopholes for businesses to use buzzwords. "super foods" is another one lol

For Swiss Made on watches last I checked was 51% of the material has to be Swiss, the movement (automatic or quartz) must be Swiss, and it has to be assembled in Switzerland. They are a bit more strict than the "Made in the USA" branding.

It’s a label thing that’s all. I own a cobratech FS3. T6061 scales just like heretic and microtech houge ect. Stainless steel internals but the steel is D2. But D2 will get just as sharp as any steel the ultra expensive knives will. Quality is right up there with them. The only difference between my otf and that heretic is about three hundred bucks that’s it. It’s a name thing a label. Like Harley Davidson the bike itself is junk but the name will cost you lol.

@@clintonbrooks3611 true. But today it’s also true that (some) companies are putting out a otf that is high quality. You think micro-tech doesn’t employ the very same strategies as cobratech. You think microtech is buying its t6061 aluminum from a U.S. company for much more than what they could get t6061 from china or somewhere for much cheaper?? Lol think about it. The only difference between a microtech and my cobra-tech. Is about four hundred bucks. And yes the steel. The steel they use will get a little sharper than my D2. But when it’s sharp enough to shave with whether it’s D2 or p204 carpenter steel what’s the difference then?? Looks feel a label
