Heritage Day | Honouring fallen heroines and heroes- Healing SA's past injustices 

Heritage Day is dedicated to honouring our country's diverse culture and heritage, looking back at our past and the sacrifices made by those who laid down their lives for our democracy and freedom.
To heal the wounds of the past injustices, the South African government will tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Waterkloof Airforce Base, receive the mortal remains of former liberation heroes and heroines who passed away in Zimbabwe and Zambia. This is part of a broader repatriation and restitution programme to honour their struggles and bring closure to loved ones. To reflect on the significance of this process and how it has contributed to our country's heritage and national identity, we are joined virtually by Professor Pitika Ntuli, Cultural analyst and the CEO of the National Heritage Council of South Africa, Dr Thabo Manetsi.
