About 45 years ago on a Sunday night ministering at the York, PA County Home Chapel Service . I met this wonderful girl who would later become my wife. I led the singing and she played the piano. After the service we gathered around the piano and began singing. That night I sang my first solo with my future wife accompanying me. That night marked the start of what would be the most wonderful and incredible journey of my lifetime. Over the years we ministered together in many convalescent homes, churches, and a Youth Detention Home. About a year and a half ago, the Lord called my wife home. I miss her so much. I long to be able to sing with her again but I know the songs and praise that she is experiencing now cannot compare to anything we have on this earth. Whenever I hear this song tears come to my eyes as I remember that night when I sang this song for the first time and started that wonderful journey of serving the Lord with my wife.
I love very much to have read your story, thank you so much! I just needed to read this encouragement, so pure, tender, and gentle. Like love of Jesus. I am waiting for Jesus's return. Just a few more weary days.
In a world of fear and turmoil, In a race that seems so hard to run, Lord I need Thy rich infilling Even so, Lord Jesus come Chorus Even so, Lord Jesus come My heart does long for Thee Though I failed and betrayed Thy trust Even so, Lord Jesus come When my eyes shall span the river, when I gaze into the vast unknown May I say with calm assurance, Even now, Lord Jesus come Chorus Even so, Lord Jesus come My heart does long for Thee Though I failed and betrayed Thy trust Even so, Lord Jesus come
Thank you! I got to know this song at a Youth Congress in Kuils River Cape Town when in my teens.I'm now in my seventies and often in my life, especially when I longed for His coming I would turn the pages of my memory and sing Even so Lord Jesus come.
