As a lifetime since launch, this is the first bundle that I've felt wasn't just a straight money grab. This feels like a gift to all of us who played the old games on our woefully underpowered PCs 20 years ago. I couldn't buy zen fast enough. They don't have to be the best ships... I love that we have them period and I'll make them work.
The work that went into the ships (bugs not withstanding), the fact that they did a campaign of teasers (would have preferred a weekly ship reveal to avoid all the conspiracy nutter rants about new game modes etc) and the trailer, and what a trailer, made this a bundle buy for me. I played all the games that the ships are from on release day, so a lot of nostalgia there. The ships aren’t the elite best of the best but they are fun to play. Given the lack of regular 35% bundle sales this year, this bundle gave me a glimmer of hope that Deca (and cryptic at the moment) may start listening to what the players want rather than telling them what they need.
I was planning on getting the Typhon anyways, but I'm probably gonna grab the bundle, some good stuff in there without useless fluff. Thnx for review 👍💪🖖
Do you think we'll ever get like a 3-3 ship that has two experimental weapon slots? Cuz man, I'd love to do some fun stuff with a couple extra experimental weapon slots
that repurposed hanger bay, dang, thats going to take some thinking about looks amazing for carriers on paper, lots of contest for those slots these days.
I have it, and I love it. It basically turns any single hanger ship into a full carrier. And makes something like the sullik or support carriers into an something like a kicked hornet nest.

Sadly you can't transfer your account from console to PC. But if you're starting a new account on PC your options are Epic, Arcgames, or Steam. Each connect you to the same PC server, just different purchase options, and atm Epic has the cheapest zen during sales. This may be the best bundle I've ever seen. I've been plugging my PS2 in regularly to play Invasion and years ago cryptic told me the Typhon and Valkyrie would likely never be legally possible. I AM SO EXCITED! I JUST NEED MK 3 VALKS NOW AND ITS COMPLETE!
Thanks for the advice, I am tempted just to get the Typhon and Achilles as individual purchases at separate times, but the fighters do make it tempting to get the whole package. Since the Premonition is a bit weak like you showed us….I won’t bother with that one. The Achilles is the best option of the trio. I wish we could get that Fusion Cube as a playable version, especially since I missed the one we did get and waiting for it to come out in the C Store.

@@outlawedTV88 That console is practically just a cannon version of the Excelsior 2 one. Combined with a ship exclusive tanking feature. I'm certain it will be buffed to make it worthwhile. Until then, it's mostly a tanking console. Although the +30% turret damage passive is rather interesting. Not many things in game boosting turrets specifically rn. A full turret lazy tanking build on that combined with the Vovin console should be fun. Besides, NEVER buy a new ship for its features/performance right at release. They will always fix/nerf them after a few weeks or months.

I'll sit on this for a bit. Got the 13th anniversary just last week, so no more big buys until probably Black Friday. The Dil reserves should be flush again by then for an extra discount.
One thing to think about with the Starship Trait "Temporal Stasis Field" is that its a hold Would the Console "Tholian Webspinner Array" work with it as the has a 50% Bonus to Held Foes.
Spencer can you make a video covering the best ship for beam fire at will? you've done one on beam overload but not FAW. Would be nice to see the top DPS ship and maybe your favourite, with load out review as well. Would be awesome! Thankyou!
IMHO, the Typhon alone makes it worth it for me. I love its peculiarly boxy design, as if they'd taken inspiration from both the Husnock and the Dominion ships.
I'm guessing the experimental weapon is only good on a phaser build? I actually like that, I get bored when every single energy type needs to use the exact same meta gear.
Definitely going to get the Achilles that looks a very good ship and it's my kind of ship, the premonition looks nice as well. Might get the bundle..... idk yet.
I'm split on the idea of locked consoles to specific ships. On one hand makes ships feel more distinct (which STO badly needs) on the other a potential useful console is locked to a ship i might despise.
I feel the same way. It had such an incredible feeling of impactful force and power to it in Elite Force. Also as I recall, the primary fire was a compression bolt in Elite Force, wasn't it?
@@heartoffire5902 yea, i mean it's STO they can't get everything right that would be too good. The original rifle was a phaser compression rifle with a sniper secondary fire. They appear to have taken more from elite force 2 unfortunately in which the gun sounded worse and was all around lesser, much like that game compared to the original

Really wanted to say that I like all these ships and will get the bundle at some point soon. That being said, there are some points to clarify: 1) The EF Sniper Rifle is from EF2, and it IS the correct look for the rifle from that game (It is meant to look like the rifle design from Nemesis. 2) In actuality, the Typhon should be even smaller than it is when next to the Enterprise-F. It was released from the Enterprise-E in Invasion the same way as in the trailer and the Typhon looks bigger in STO when next to an Odyssey than a Sovereign. Other than that, I’m really excited to play these ships soon.
Not a bad bundle, as a space wizard sci captain, I'm only interested in the Science Spearhead, its okay, BOFF seating isn't great though. Might pick it up for that console, but thats probably it. I have wanted to start working on a carrier build, but thats a long ways off. My current ship is the Sh'val, fantastic ship for temporal space magic shit.
With all the broken stuff with the new ships, more than the usual Cryptic norm. I wonder if these are the first ships, Decca have made without direct supervison?????🤔
I don't really know if this is any good. Maybe somebody can tell me, but on the typhoon I've been running one of the new debuff shuttles, one of the frigate pets that has fire wheel and suppression barrage and then the third hangar Bay talent and it seems to be really good at with like tanking and debuffing the opponent and letting me use torpedoes to kind of just take them down really quick. The the Valkyries seem to take out their Shields really fast and with the debuff from the shuttlecraft and the suppression barrage from the frigates, I'm not taking a lot of damage back either
I have an T6 coupon, prob gonna get the Achilles, with the campaign coupons, I will probably get Cyclone and maybe Edison/Equinox. Saving my 22k Zen for the Disco Bundle... if they finally drop it in Mudds again ahhhhhhh
I'm going to spend a T6 token on the Typhon for sure and move my alt's carrier build to it. Seriously considering making it all turret whilst I'm at it! For historical reasons, I don't have any main toon phaser builds (all are disruptor or one on gorn plasma) so I'll skip the Achilles for now. I'd like the new fighters but not enough to make a serious dent in my zen stash ...
The sniper rifle is interesting but it would be better if we could hear it... it's currently bugged and we can't hear it. Also, it sometimes fires randonly in odd directions. I like the first two ships but the Premonition is just meh.
Typhon Universal Console been locked is disappointing while the T6 Hydra Universal Console is in fact, Universal... While the Achilles torpedo barrage look as cool as the Dauntless 2 console J.D.M.A. Barrage
Shame the Premonition doesn't have an older style "emergency time ship" hull variation built from Luna and Sovereign parts like the original in game model.
@@FyurianPrime yes but the Luna was in development around the same time as the Intrepid but was stopped due to the Dominion war. So for emergency builds it wouldn't be uncommon for experimental ship parts to be rushed in if the original project was incomplete. The original design does share aspects of the Luna so I used it for design inspiration ideas.

I'd say you mispoke when you said "built from Luna and Sovereign parts like the original in game model", because the original in-game model in Armada had zero design cues from the Luna Class. For the simple fact that it hadn't been designed yet.

Typhon is bigger than it was in its og game.. it was not much bigger than the SOVEREIGN engineering hull, smaller even. So it being so much bigger than the eng hull of the ODYSSEY make it more than 2 to 3 x bigger than it should me.. like the bajor fighter lol
Get this bundle now don't wait. I thought it was wise to let he Mudd bundle sale pass in January. Biggest mistake ever. We haven't seen a Mudd bundle sale since. (nearly 7 months).
ye, EF1 didn't had a sniper rifle, it was EF2 that had the Nemesis Rifle (second pattern FC rifle with a different optic and slight overhaul) as you sniper rifle.
@@SkrapMetal84 Hmm, it's possible the event campaign T6 coupons only work for ships released up to a certain date. Although they shouldn't. I'd say it's a bug. Better save those coupons until they fix it.
You can only use event campaign coupons after the ships leave "new" status. Its only possible to buy new ships with coupons that have been purchased in some form. Tokens that Cryptic has given away in promos should work too.

The Achilles Class Starship, is from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Dominion War. This is just a 'minor' observation, from a African American Star Trek enthusiast. The fighter type that you keep going out of your LILY-WHITE WAY to MISPRONOUNCE, is VALOR, as in "AWARDED for CONSPICUOUS VALOR", ABOVE and BEYOND the CALL of DUTY.

They tried so hard to make the rifle from Elite Force... that they failed to do so completely and instead made the slimmer phaser rifle from Star Trek Nemesis. Neither Elite Force game featured that style of rifle. They featured the Star Trek First Contact/Insurrection styled rifles. This along with making the Premonition look so far removed from what it should look like. Disappointing.
I'm fine with the Premonition's new look but it should have had one based directly on the game model as well. Luna and Sovereign refit parts and materials would work so well for the original emergency time ship form.
I'm so sad that they made the Premonition so weak, it was the ship I was most looking forward to since it has been my favorite ship type since I played Armada. This really hurts. But I will still run it for a while. And at least the Gemini Effect is really neat.
