Thank you! I'm wondering where do I head to find more about Ricouer's point of view on appropriation. How does the individual steeped in a specific religious context explore or hope to understand religion, not as a habit where one follows one's "faith" but as the global experience of diverse groups. I mean standing on the shoulders of giants, the air gets a little thin...how do we pursue this stuff :) without losing the ability to talk to other people :)
Ricoeur tended to keep his personal faith separate from his scholarly life. He's a philosopher who wrote about a lot of topics but never really got into theology that much. So he's a little bit of a mystery on appropriation from an academic standpoint.
