A temporary storage solution could be cobwebs. It would let you store an item, but it would run out of time when it reaches the floor, where the rats get it.

I worked as a cashier in a supermarket, and... yes. This. But honestly, *every* song throughout the year is on loop so much that they all get grating. "Shiny Happy People" was forever ruined for me this way.
@@IceMetalPunk I just realized, I don't think I've actually noticed any songs being played in any grocery store or department store I've shopped at over the last 20+ years. The subject of music (especially Christmas music) playing in a store while shopping makes me think of going to the mall in the 90s.
What I would have loved to see from this movie is it being fully animated and following a character who is amazing at Java-redstone through a portal into the bedrock version and then slowly lose their mind because half the stuff doesn't work how it used to. Have them end up talking to a torch or something, Cast Away style.
The freezer only being able to open from the outside prevents you from making maps where the players are completely seperated, unless you make multiple "open freezer" buttons throughout the restaurant that can be made inaccessible by placing blocks in the maps

Tango, an idea for freezer teamwork: * one player has to type a code with buttons outside the freezer to shortly open an iron trapdoor inside the freezer which allows the second player pick up the food item acording to the code entered * higher tier food needs longer code * single player opens the iron trap door longer so the player can enter the code and still rush in to get the food item * more team play if the required code is changing and is only visible from inside the freezer (Player A gets into the freezer: "Type red green green blue for chicken" Player B: "Okay I'm on it"...)

Oh --- For the Bonemeal! Just hide a crafter in the wall. The crafter auto-fills to 8. When they get one extra bonemeal- it crafts/dispenses a bone block! For the single player freezer escape. Random flashing copper bulbs in the ceiling (buttons on them). Get all the bulbs lit and the door opens!

Some thoughts for the freezer. Maybe this will be too much... Imagine that you walk in and there's an "ice machine" near the entrance. Maybe there could be a ready indicator light on it, you can't use it while the light is off, it takes a few seconds after using it before the light turns on again, and each use gives you a certain amount of ice (snowballs). And... Could there be room for a second ice machine with better cooldown / better production that could be hidden away by default and a possible upgrade is to unlock it? Now you go deeper into the freezer and maybe there could be a large chamber with a minigame within it where you must throw snowballs at targets. Maybe there are half a dozen targets spread out across a wall, a light flashes over one of them at random once every second, and you must hit the correct target within half a second of the flash to score a point. There would be an indicator on another wall lighting up with how many points you have and showing which food item that corresponds to, and then you press a button to convert all of your points into that item. So the "tier 1" item only needs you to run in and hit 1 target and cash out while the "tier 3" item needs you to hit 3 targets before cashing out. Could also stretch this idea out to make the higher tiers harder to get. Like maybe you get the tier 1 for cashing out at 1 point, you get the tier 2 for cashing out at 2 or 3 points, you get the tier 3 for cashing out at 4, 5, or 6 points, and you get the tier 4 for cashing out with 7 or more points. Or maybe every tier covers a 2 point range (t1 for 1 or 2, t2 for 3 or 4, etc.) and you're guaranteed to receive 1 of that item for cashing out at the lower score or you have a 50/50 shot to be given 1 extra for cashing out at the higher score. Invest an extra second of your time and possibly avoid a repetition of the minigame. Hm, random thought going off on a tangent from that last part... Would it be possible to set up a randomizer with variable randomness? I mean, so if for example you've got a 1/3 chance with 2 stackable and 1 unstackable item in there would it be possible to siphon an item out and set it aside and randomize based on the remaining items for a 1/2 chance of success? (Checking that it hasn't taken the unstackable so it's not left at a 0/2 chance, of course.) Or to inject an item to shift to a 1/4 chance of success? (Inject a stackable as a penalty dropping to 1/4 chance, or inject an unstackable as an upgrade raising to 2/4 chance. Or siphon a stackable and inject an unstackable at the same time to go to 2/3 chance.) In short, perhaps the chances of getting an extra item from a single cash out in that minigame could be manipulated by upgrades. It may not need to be locked it at one rate.
Tango, someone already posted a video to youtube a week ago with an idea for your freezer using gloe lichen (mold) which the player has to destroy etc. It looked really well made and if you haven't seen it check it out. I will have to look into it but I had a design a while back that worked really well at slowing the player. I could even make it worse with other tricks but desided against it. I will try to load up my game soon to make sure it still works. Even if it has been nerfed I still had extra things that probably still work.
Maximum tension can be obtained if the final day's song is Jono's hold song (the permit office hold music). If you want something upbeat and triumphant, jono's hermitcraft theme song could work as well. (sound file already on server, Impy used it for his Touch Grass game)
Man this conversation about classic games brings me back. The first games I ever played on PC were Myst and Wolfenstein, kudos to you if you actually remember this game even existed.
Put multiple pickup points inside the freezer and randomly hide some behind pistons or frost walker ice. Lower tier items appear in all the pickup points, but higher tier items might only be in one accessible pickup point at a time and require the player to look around, search, and and figure out where the higher tier items are. Especially if they randomize every time you enter/exit the freezer.
Tango, I had the exact same experience as you with MarioKart 😂 Growing up, I played the SNES version so much! And then recently I found it on the Switch, in their Nintendo Online SNES emulator, and when I opened it I was like, "....I.... remember this being more 3D somehow...." 😂 My memory did *not* include all the terrain and walls being a texture on a flat ground plane 😂
True, though Zathura is literally the sequel to Jumanji (as in, it's adapted from the Zathura book, which was the sequel to the Jumanji book that inspired the first movie).
Instead of barrels, use hoppers. They hold less items and will drain everything. If you don’t like the look of them, use an armor stand to hide the ugly bits

For temp storage, I don't see the point of not just placing items in the crafter as "storage." If things are going to disappear after any single craft anyway, it's the same if you're using the crafter or the barrel. You still need to clear out the barrel or crafter of any items you want to keep before pressing craft (presumably, by spilling them on the floor for a second). All that is to say: barrels are unnecessary - use the crafter instead. Also, reminder that the furnace is another inventory slot if the item can't be cooked. And if you're not hopper minecarting the fire for rats, it's another ledge to hold items on.
I think the dispenser above the campfire could be left empty, and a water bottle could be put into it, or a fire charge. So put the fire out and start it from the same place. Just have two different hoppers feeding into it for each item.
You can empty water cauldrons with burning entities. You can shoot arrows through lava, and it works even if the arrow just hits the bottom or an edge. It is possible to get a setup that aligns the arrow, then pushes it up with slime to hit a bottom edge reliably.
I know it's been a couple days but for the "not killing players" just have a regeneration beacon active between days so they always start at full health
You could move the temp storage into the freezer as “deep storage”. A row of 3 terracotta pots sitting over locked hoppers. Press a button to unlock the hopper/dispense items. The hoppers could be set to purge contents onto the floor every 30 seconds or so (or end of day?) The water idea that was mentioned could be a leaking sink or toilet. A water source block could be dispensed, players have to shut off the water main in a really inconvenient location, which extends a piston head to sweep the water out of existence. Maybe the main needs to be flipped off while another player presses a button? Or the main could disengage other critical systems while its off Loving the corpo musak feel!
Tango, they need line of sight to the items, if u are trying to get them into a specific spot lead them with bread crumbs of their designated item. Just dropping the item in a whole doesnt work unless they have direct visual of it.
pull the furnace back with already extended sticky piston which when retracts aligns furnace on top of hopper that empties the furnace. You need to place a hopper exactly behind the dispenser. That's one way to empty the furnace, detect food cooked, if not taken out, food over cooked and got burnt. Alarm goes on...!
@@jem-jams Oh ok, didn't know that. The main aim here is to make coal go away. When the item is cooked, it goes to the finished slot. Now the coal is just sitting there and the player doesn't care about it. If they are standing there and ready with the next item to be cooked, they surly will put the next item to cook . If the player just runs away with the cooked item to do something else and coal is still there, we might want to take away the coal. Since we can't move the furnace, we can feed furnace with a crappy item that is of no use after it gets cooked. This way we can make sure they dont forget to take out the coal with cooked item or the coal just gets burnt to cook the crappy usles item. I think this brings in 1. Waiting time, 2. Fear of Losing coal, 3. Mandatory Inventory management
I will not be watching the MC movie. I don't care about a generic story. The animations looks good until real people start walking through it. Don't know why they didn't make them MC characters when they entered into MC world. And I'm just tired of Jack Black being in movies because he is Jack Black.
For the freezer door. You could have the person inside try to open. But they would be splashed with a slowness potion because they are chilled. (This can be avoided by their partner letting them out.) For the songs I feel like you should do a Jazz day. There is like 20% more money. But maybe with some negative/downside. It would always be on day 6 (or 5 or 7) and it could randomly pop up on any day after 8 as a fun (or stressful depending on the downside) surprise
What if you time the campfire going out to the furnace running out of fuel. Like just a redstone check to the furnaces being on, and if any furnace is burning the campfire stays on, but if the players let the furnaces run out of fuel the campfire goes out too. And you just use the fuel as a resource/tax compnent, which gives some interesting play patterns/decision points since it frees you up from worrying about provided the player with too many fuel sources. This way they HAVE to use fuel sources and it incentivizes the players to keep things cooking in the furnaces regularly. And in order to restart the campfire, they have to do something.
1:59:35 I am trying to remember now what my first ever game (computer game that is) was. It was on my older brothers C64 and we had tons of games for that computer. I cant remember exaclty the first, but there was for example bubble bobble, oil imperium, some hockey game you could copy from a gaming magazine (an when i say copy, i mean, you had to type those games from hand into an editor, line for line :p ), commander keen of course (we had a lot of parts from that game), Turricane, Pirates, etc. I still remember "Another World" which was (iirc) the first game with 256 colors!
It's way easier to get allays in minecarts than in cauldrons. Just have a corcle track with a minecart driving on it and throw an item in the middle. The allay will pop into the minecarts instantly. Since rails hold back water that's ideal for sorting systems. Just for next time, maybe.
Each day could be a minecraft day, each day they serve as many ppl as possible if they get a 'service streak' it couple be a multiplier to buy more objects at the lecturn or a more consistent loot box. So eventually, they either dont have the resources to serve anymore, or the queue outside is too long? If they get to day 8, it'll only be roughly 80 minutes, but they won't get there every time.
@TankoTekLP YOU could have a permanent counter with a gold pressure plate on it. You could use a comparator to sense how many items are on the counter and increase silver fish spawns accordingly
@Tango Tek2 You could use vines instead of the ladders in the well. Just might make it a little more natural...it's a dried-out well with vines down to where water remains.
I really think should at least check out the new age of mythology remake it might get you back into rts. its actually quite well done, and stayed true to the classic and some really good improvements that were really needed.

For the cooking station what if you start with a furnace then use the campfire as an upgrade and interchange dispensers to light and extinguish the flame when needed.
Why is he not putting the Allay in a minecart (or boat)? Even if it's just to get the minecart Under the cauldron, then push it up into the cauldron's space... Then break the cart! The problem is they won't pathfind into cauldrons, cause they think it's a solid block.
I thought perhaps the issue with the barrels beside the crafter would be OK if you set a second hopper below the first and pointed it towards where the minecart would run... I am not sure it would push the items into a moving minecart, but it would be cool if that worked.
Idea for the well: slime block piston feed tape a cauldron up and down as the "bucket". Have the "crank handle" be an item in a frame on an observer. At the bottom, have a dispenser with buckets pointed at an infinite source, a hopper under the source to catch the water bucket, a dispenser on that hopper that puts the water in the cauldron, and then pull the empty bucket back out. If you do the feed tape sideways, you can attach a row of slime blocks between the cauldron and the feed tape so it goes downward one way, then loops around the bottom and back up the other way in a single direction. Have it as deep as you want, have the ladder down to get the water themselves if they want. You can even offer an upgrade to have the well automatically retrieve water. Edit: someone suggested this during the stream, I jumped the gun. I'm dumb. I still stand by this suggestion.
In reference to computer games, @ around the 2 hour mark. my first game was a mouse tutorial game on my friends apple mac. it was a diving game that thought you how to double click. click and drag etc.
No Man's Sky Multiplayer is a buggy mess a lot of the time. Battles that only one player can see, loot that is supposed to be shared across the group but bugs out and vanishes before everyone can collect it. There are many examples of problems with the muliltiplayer that I've personally experienced
4:16:00 I'm not that familiar with your music mod, but if you have the songs on a head with a noteblock underneath, wouldn't moving the noteblock interrupt the song? If so that seems like the easier solution. Of course it would take up more space, but I don't think that would be s problem here, would it?
