Yeap! I have been on an SMP for awhile without one and am looking for a good server that DOES have one. IT kinda sucks though, the one I'm on is big, normally 30-50 players on. It would be nice to have it.. but the server owner hates it for some reason. (Security or something) He had a plugin that did it through Discord but no one used it.. and I'm like, "Uh, because we want it just Ingame, not have to be loged in to discord also" And the discord thing didn't show you WHO had voice chat enabled so you couldn't tell like who you could talk to at a glance like you can with the Minecraft mods for it.

That season was the beta test, seeing as the mod was added late in the season

Only if you have a group of people willing to use it. Most people don't want to use it or talk in Discord in my experience on SMP's.

There was an old plugin called Mumble I remember from like,,,,, 2014??? It wasn't as nuanced as what they have now with the groups and such, but it's not a new concept. I remember in particular there was a glitch with Mumble that made players in the Overworld and Neither hear each other if they were in the equivalent coordinates

​@@OgdenM the actual voice call isn't encrypted like the main gameplay is, that could be the security angle. Though if it's a private server it's best done over a VPN like Hamachi or Tailscale anyway rather than a public IP address.

Unfortunately, the horn mod uses the voice mod to play sounds

I remember the first time I saw Scar get punted off a tall building, with his scream fading away as he fell like a cartoon character. Absolutely brilliant addition to the game.

What’s your top recommendation for non-hermitcraft SMP content? I just recently discovered hermitcraft and am loving it. So I’m curious to see what else is out there.

​@@avgdiThey're not around anymore but the old mindcrack videos from like seasons 3, 4, and 5 are what got me into Minecraft SMP and eventually hermit craft. Now warning because that server was not family friendly but etho, bdubs, beef, doc, and other past hermits were all apart of mindcrack before hermitcraft

Nope, I was rewatching some season 6 early this year and the mic quality is much worse across the board too. Many hermits dropped their jobs to be full time creators in the last few years, i think that affects the effort in quality too.
