A lot of that stuff came out when Guitar Hero Metallica was released on consoles, because they had to separate the tracks. I'm not sure if it's the original recording though. After 30 years I understand them not want to fuck with the original mix when they did the remastered version for 2018. it would be like hearing a completely different album. You can still hear it a little more though in the remaster.
Great Job. Excellent Double Kicker. Your Drum Kit is in exact Tune with Lars. My No.1 Song from And Justice for All Album. Keep on Drummin' and Rockin'. Rock On!!!
exelente Hernan! por cierto felicitaciones por tu banda... tienes canciones increíbles! Me encanta "basta de piedad" que exelentes temas con Patriarca! sigue asi
You know Lars himself has never even played this all in one take like that, right? The studio recording was done in sections over two weeks or something, and of course he chops out a lot playing it live (ultra-rarely played live). I mean no disrespect to Lars either. I'm just saying I think that speaks pretty well to your capabilities. Thanks for making this video. Ridiculously great work! \m/
Incorrect, Lars played it just fine all the way through back then. It wasn't until the black album that they started 'cut n paste' editing every measure to get the overall best drum track. If you don't believe me, look up Dyers Eve Demo on RU-vid.
ive listened to all those, those arent cuts, those are a gate effect put on cymbals, vocals, guitar, etc and other tracks, a common practice. when the decibel level drops below the threshold, it cuts off the sound entirely for that noise/hit/cord, etc. often tiems gating is masked by the additon of reverb and delay, but sometimes they missed it. they pieced together entire sections of songs, ie, verse, chorus, bridge, etc, but as far as the extreme cut and paste method scene on Black, such as doing single fills and sections of fills, recording a track 30 times over and picking and choosing the best parts, and 'punching' in for tiny sections that was never done on any prior album before black. and as far as Dyers even demo being slower, it IS slower, you are 100% correct, but not by much. you are talking a 15 second difference in total song length. 5:15 vs 5:30. the album is 195 bpm , and the demo is 189 bpm... not a huge difference. im not really sure why everyone has a hard time believing Lars couldnt play Dyers eve straight through? when he was younger, he had loads of endurance, and today, he routinely plays double bass over 205 bpm for battery and other select parts of other songs..
@Shallex I do think even on RTL they started dublicating and looping tracks At least Fade To Black has chopped guitar track (rhythm) in the last part of the song during fading solo
