Hunk has a special meaning among the bikers in Bangladesh, according to me after Pulsar and FZS Hunk is the 3rd most sold 150cc bike in Bangladesh, Bikebd’s founder Suvro Sen used to own one & me technically was a good fan of the bike too. One of the reason why HUNK is so popular among the bikers because of its RAW acceleration, it was Hero Honda Hunk which develop the word ‘ready pick up’ among the bikers of these generation, also the engines of Hunk (also CBZ Xtremes) were very reliable. Not to mention they also used to have very good suspensions as well.
The Hero Hunk will feature some sticker job and an upgraded engine while still keeping the looks and design the same. The current Hunk gives out 14.2 BHP and & 12.8 NM of Torque @ 8500 RPM, the upgraded Hunk will give out 15.6 BHP & 13.5 NM of Torque still @ 8500 RPM. It may sound confusing that how the same engine spec can gives out more BHP in the same rev limit?
Comparing the two specifications from their website we found that the Hero engineers found a good way to pump out that extra power by altering the compression ratio of the bike by 0.9:1 . Although the power gone up by some margin they still kept the same 5 speed transmission with the bike, something which I didn’t like in Xtreme Sports.
Other then the engines the bike will get graphics or stickers, the instrument panel is upgraded too as now there will be a side stand indicator & now there is a head light assembly. They also changed the colour of the rear suspension which will now be black but Hero still not opting to go for Mono-Suspension. It is also revealed that the Hero Hunk will get viscous air filter & five step adjustable inverted gas reservoir suspension.
With competition growing day by day from Suzuki and Bajaj Hero needed to up their games, they did quiet a good job with Xtreme Sports and I think Hunk will also join in the party very soon to start the power battle on the road. Niloy Motors also revealed that they will bring two new scooters and a new fuel efficient 100cc bike for the market in Bangladesh.
